2015 - President Jonathan Versus Rtd Gen Chief Buhari

I think its time both men step forward on National TV and face each other....

Yes a National debate to settle it all.

They wont be needing all you ''internet rats'' defending them, they will face
Nigerians and tell us what they want to do if and when any of them is elected as President Of Nigeria and the interviewers should be selected randomly and not like the remote controlled ones who normally ask questions they are handed.

Yes! A National debate between President Jonathan (PDP) and Retired Gen Buhari is needed Asap....and whilst they are at it,can the two fo them be friendly towards each other?Their perceived fued is somewhat fuelling something scary.

What do you think?

    1. And after the debate, what follows?
      Violence! Blood shed, war!
It's started already. Both will stop at nothing to hold that presidential seat.
      May God help Nigeria!

    2. Seconded! But would they? I'm tired of their memes gan....they should just come out....but buhari is trying very hard for this presidency, his campaign is even tighter than Jona's own,Jona seems very confident about this election, I thank God I wasn't up to 18 last election else I would have regretted voting Jona. He just decieved everyone with that hi "I had no shoes" "breathe fresh air" campaign...at least we had shoes to trek during the subsidy
Seriously Jona did not try,no cursing but I dey talk am as I see am
In Rivers state Amaechi tried a lot,but Jona's regime is let the rich become richer and the poor poorer.
Meanwhile,Mr INEC jega, I wasn't able to register for my PVC up until now because all the centers are filled up and I'm a first time voter. I need my card o,weda my life go better sef if I vote the right person...
      Una weldone!

    3. I disagree, Buhari has not ruled neither has in been in political power in the last 30 years, then you put him in the ring with someone who has had political power since 1999 democracy. Buhari wont know fundamental policy decisions that have been signed and how they are being implemented.

    8. The APC have been consistently saying that
the PDP have ruled Nigeria for 16 disastrous years in which corruption,
impunity, insurgency, armed robbery and several ills of society held
sway, but at a very close look at the APC,
I am seeing Amaechi - 8yrs speaker; 7yrs governor under PDP, Atiku -
8yrs Vice president under PDP, Akume - 8yrs governor under PDP, Bukola
Saraki - 8yrs governor; 2yrs Senator under PDP, Timipre Sylva -4yrs
governor under PDP, Audu Ogbe - 2yrs chairman of PDP, Aminu Masari -
4yrs Reps speaker under PDP, Chris Ngige - 3yrs governor under PDP,
Kwankwaso - 7yrs governor,3yrs Defense minister under PDP, El rufai -
4yrs FCT minister, 2yrs BPE chairman under PDP ...and to cap it all they
went to OBJ begging, a man who spent 8 of the disastrous 16yrs as the
maximum ruler of Nigeria to come and lead them on a rescue mission. It
is now clearer that APC is a waste basket of the PDP, where the people
who created and perpetuated the " 16 Disastrous years" are now
dumped.... please Nigerians, what is the change in this APC?

    11. Could APC be the Nigerian version of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood Party? Check out this: 1. Party Leader – North: Gen Muhammadu Buhari (Muslim). 2. Party Leader – South: Bola Ahmed Tinubu (Muslim). 3. National Chairman: Abdulkareem Bisi Akande (Muslim). 4. Deputy National Chairman: Aminu Bello Masari (Muslim). 5. National Secretary: Tijjani Musa Tumsah (Muslim). 6. Deputy National Secretary: Nasir El-Rufai (Muslim). 7. National Publicity Secretary: Lai Muhammad (Muslim). 8. National Treasurer: Sadiya Umar Faruq (Muslim) 9. National Financial Secretary: Alhaji Shaibu Musa (Muslim). 10. National Youth Leader: Abubakar Lado (Muslim). 11. National Legal Adviser: Muiz Banie (Muslim). 12. National Deputy Auditor: Bala Jibrin (Muslim). 13. National Women Leader: Sharia Ikeazor (Muslim convert). 14. EX-officio Member: Muniru Muse (Muslim). 15. EX-officio Member: Alhaji Yemi Sanusi (Muslim). Yet, these people want us to believe they are PROGRESSIVES and that APC is a national party. I think APC has a hidden religious agenda..Be guided people!

    2. O shut it. How does your father speak? A Chinese man is proud of his accent. We don't care how he speaks, can he deliver? That's what Nigerians are interested in. By the way all past and present Nigerian presidents all have strong accents.

      Delete
    3. Abeg leave Grammer. Did you watch the presidential rally that took place in lagos days ago? Dayummm it was appalling to say the least.

Not about the Grammar alone, but the agenda should have been articulated by Mr president and he failed in that regards.

As for Buhari, I am not sure that I've seen him debate extensively, so I wouldn't know his capacity in terms of giving an apt speech.

However, not many are eloquent speakers, doesn't necessarily mean that they are dullards. Some are better when they act than they speak. But I can't say the same for Mr President because I see less of actions but more of defence from his spokesmen.

So really, there's nothing to look forward to in either of their debates. We had absolutely good orators in the last pre election episode. We had Chris Okotie, Tunde Bakare, Dele Momodu, Pat Utomi etc. These were men who not only expressed their purpose through verbal conviction, but are also explicitly convincing tru the power of their pen and paper. Yet, none of them made it far even with their brilliant oratory.

      So really, talk is cheap.

  9. I support the idea but will they fulfill what is written and declared in their manifesto? Won't it still be the normal promise, wait, promise again and fail? That is what bothers most people. Let the debate kick start already and let each candidate do all he can to capture the mind of the people without necessarily spoiling the image of the other. That's my posit on this one.

There's so much propaganda and lots of young people seeking merited and unmerited recognition have hijacked their campaigns. So i'll say we have a "face off". Hope it happens! Can't wait as I dance shoki ahn. Hehehe!

  26. Exactly... They should have a presidential debate on live TV and battle it out maturely. Seriously I don't know why people are being violent about this. When the elephant fights the grass suffers. Burning busses and all cause of election will not make the other loose or win. That is not a determinant factor at all! Imagine that bus given to a man on the street to use for business isn't that eradicating poverty?

Even though I am for GEJ for 2015 I still want healthy competition and this is far from being healthy! This is meant to bring out the beat from these two men and not to harm ourselves! Enough of the violence please... Enough of the killings please we are one in the sight of God. That is not the way....

If there has to be a revolution are we revolting to put the right person in? Are we sure Bihari is the right substitute for Jonathan? Let's think well and cast our votes wisely in peace please! Enough said. God Bless Nigeria. Amen

  32. Very nice line of thought Stella. That's how most civilized and developed countries do theirs. Down here we just abuse each other and throw shots at each other all in the name of campaigning. One of these tv stations, channels preferably because I percievr them as a fearless network, should try this out. Feb 14th is already around the corner. Let Nigerians know what we're getting into as regards whoever we vote for. God bless you Stels.

  36. Seconded! But would they? I'm tired of their memes gan....they should just come out....but buhari is trying very hard for this presidency, his campaign is even tighter than Jona's own,Jona seems very confident about this election, I thank God I wasn't up to 18 last election else I would have regretted voting Jona. He just decieved everyone with that his "I had no shoes" "breathe fresh air" campaign...at least we had shoes to trek during the subsidy.
Seriously Jona did not try,no cursing but I dey talk am as I see am.

  39. Madam Stella, your heart lies with the PDP but do not promote political sentiments on this blog. Buhari is not President GEJ's and PDP's enemy. He doesn't see them as such. Their greatest enemies are the Nigerian People. The people are fed up, they have endured suffering, hunger, poverty, sadness, hardships, sorrows. Stop calling the people internet rats just because they chose to express their readiness for a CHANGE. Did Jonathan come out to debate with Buhari in 2011 ? He did a sham debate on t.v.......debate or no debate, the citizens would decide. In fact it's sealed. Do not get me wrong. I'm from an upper class family and I'm well to do but I have experienced the streets and all I can do is grieve silently hoping for better days . The small child in the park hawking wares and not getting any education..the fresh graduate doing manual labor on the construction site..the pregnant widow mourning the death of her soldier husband who died defending his country but no pension to take care of his family and unborn children..the civil servant who served his country from 8am-4pm only to die waiting for his pension...collapsing education system...why didn't they raise N21billion to fund the power and education sector. We are tired of failed promises. At least let another person promise us..if he fails then we vote him out too. Let's decide our future and that of our unborn children...

  41. Am not intrested in their national debate.
What is the essence of the debate when all their plans will be to get into that seat and sweep all their points under the carpet!
How many debate/ manifestos have we heard in a long while, N all how far where they implemented!!

May the lord give us the right man come feb 14th... Amen

Lets always remember to pray for the peace of Nigeria.

  56. Me thinks a national debate is just a waste of time. It'll only show who has better oratorial skills. They'll just come and speak English. We can go and read their manifestos.
We need action not words. We should judge and decide who is a better leader based on prior accomplishments and not on promises.
