A 22-year-old housewife, Aminat Aiyemobola, has allegedly stabbed her husband, Babatunde Aiyemobola (40), to death over N10 TomTom sweet.
The mother of two is being detained by detectives attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Homicides section, Panti, Yaba, Lagos.
The suspect was said to have stabbed her husband to death with a kitchen knife. The incident, which occurred at No. 4, Magbon Alade Street, Ibeju-Lekki area on October 12, was reported to the police by the elder brother of the deceased. Aminat was said to have asked her husband for N10, so that she could buy Tom- Tom for their daughter.
But the deceased allegedly refused. Instead he chided her for always buying sweet for their kid. Soon the couple started quarrelling over the issue. The argument was said to have degenerated into name calling. And before anyone knew what was happening, the angry woman stormed into the kitchen and came out with a knife ,stabbed her husband three times in the chest.
While undergoing interrogation, Aminat told homicide detectives that she did not know what came over her, which prompted her to pick the knife. “I loved my husband. He was a very caring man to me and my children.
Oga, I don’t know what came over me. We loved each other. We have been living happily as husband and wife. In fact, I don’t know whether I’m under a spell. God please forgive me,” she reportedly said.
The deceased was a casual worker with one of the Indian companies. The suspect, according to the police, will soon be arraigned.culled

DeleteTor!
DeletePoverty na bastard!
DeleteThe devil don retire since. What you see is the degradation of live and let live. These days is better for the woman to walk away in a heated argument because men these days can quarrel for Africa. The pressure to provide for the family is not a joke.
DeleteBottled up anger. It wasn't just about the sweet. It wasn't about that day,it was something she has been carrying and bearing and enduring. So sad she let it out this way..
DeleteThe devil has retired tey try
Let her face the law.
Hmmmmm. What a pity
DeleteThe woman must have had bottled up bitter emotions,no be tomtom matter alone abeg:
DeleteBut to stab till he died is what gives me goose pimples!truely demons took over d bitterness in her heart and used her short temper to execute their missions'!dats why is always good to work on ur weaknesses.
Jesus!!!! What is this again o.
DeletePoverty+frustration+bitterness = Bottled up anger.
ReplyDeleteBottled up anger = Unwarranted violence.
People should learn to control their emotions especially when angry, because in a fit of anger, we can do what we will forever regret.
It's sad the man had to die this way.
May his soul rest in peace.
It's a pity woman, you have to go to jail for taking a life.
What will you tell your kids happened to their father?
You have murdered sleep and peace of mind.
May God have mercy on you tho.

The Mrs Zulu's narrative is from a movie or a book.
ReplyDeleteI have read/seen it somewhere before.
I just think she personalized it to suit whatever purposes.
It's a good read, any day. Core lessons learned.
There is evil lurking everywhere nowadays, may God help us.
