Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), in support of the World Giving Index for 2014, conducted by International research firm. Gallup has ranked Nigerians 2nd in Africa and 21st most generous people on earth.
Myanmar ranks No 1 followed by United States of America, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Austrialia in that order.
I disagree with this report,Nigeria's display the 'If my brother is in trousble,so am i'' attitude
alast.. something good has been said about us
ReplyDeleteYeah! Nigerians are very generous that's why Nigerian pastors are the richest in the world.
DeleteYour comment will be visible after approval
We don't have to wait for anybody to make a stupid list about us before we know the truth, it's glaring that Nigerians are their brothers keeper
Deletealast something good hav been, said about us

Silly poll, this is total rubbish. We re generous and the rich can't help the poor even conduct charity parties this Christmas like others do to help the poor and vulnerable people in the society. We are the least generous people in the world. Our rich are very selfish, they are only generous to PUSSY not their poor citizens.
ReplyDeleteSpot on! @jaymoore
DeleteLol
DeleteNa true you talk. Our rich are generous to pussies. Helping the poor sounds strange to them.
DeleteSo true! True generosity is shown when you care for the under privileged not when you spray 4million dollars at your friend's party. *smh*
Deleteyep....Nigerians are good givers oooo
ReplyDeleteyep....Nigerians are good givers oooo
ReplyDeletelwkm.. Who agrees with this? Maybe me sha. Lol
ReplyDeleteAmericans are very philanthropic.

Thank God
ReplyDeletecan't really say abt dat
ReplyDeleteNo Stella, I disagree with you. A good percentage of nigerians are good at heart but have the fear of their good turning to bad brings about the fear to help. You help a stranger, some may put you on a spot questioning your intentions.
ReplyDeleteThe set of Nigerians you can categorize as adamant are a large percent of politicians.- they care less.
No need to disagree. we are the most generous people in Africa. At least our generosity has led our army going to simbiasa to welcome Boko Haram to the lost fold.
ReplyDeleteWe are our brothers' keepers. Me agree with this ranking. lol
Scratches head on this one. Let me seat on the fence.
ReplyDeleteGood news at last...lol

ReplyDeleteWithout mincing words,Nigeria is filled with philantropic people! Nigerian's can be generous to a fault. We are culturally groomed to be our brother's keeper.I for one, know how many times I have been saved from hunger and utter depression by people that don't really know me.One day,I was coming 4rm a job hunting, arnd berger at abuja,I met this young man,on suit,(We had previously met at the stadium during the botched Immigration recruitment, infact,he was the person that helped me scale the barbed wire fence to get in)he told me he had no money to go back to Dutse where he came from to also look 4 a job.I had just N150 on me.I gave it to him because I reckoned he is a man and it might be more difficult for ppl to help him.Whilst,I as a lady might be luckier. He didn't know it was my last card.He left,I stayed bck.I walked up to a lady, told her I needed help getting to Kubwa, she asked why,I told her I just didn't have, she smiled, asked me to enter motor, she paid for me! U see! That's the Nigerian spirit! So no matter what is happening in our country,I'm proud to be a Naija babe!
ReplyDeleteI think I agree with them, which country in Africa can be compared with Nigeria if I may ask?
ReplyDeleteAbout the world's, nice to know something good can still come out of my country.
Gaddammit!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm generous to a fault
I'm a Nigerian!
~AbadaBeeDee~
I agree oooo even going by the givers on this blog that reach out to people they havent even met in their life...
ReplyDeleteFine we all aint the same but biko we are generous....
Aunty stella, we have people like you so yeah we deserve the position. We can bark and shout but underneath that, are hearts of Gold #Nofamzing oo lol
ReplyDeleteGenerousilty is subjective, while some may be generous with their money, others might be with their body and all na generous.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that am particularly generous when I'm guilty and need to assuage my guilt,U know penance in Catholic parlance other than that Oriegwu.
My hubby is D most generous person I've ever seen, always giving, giving and giving Bwahahahaha......he wants to go to heaven when he dies**
Brb.
Ezenwanyi aka gum.hahahaha.
DeleteWelcome back.
Good 2 know.......but which people do the ranking???
ReplyDeleteI know we are nice pple that is why sometimes i doubt if BH boys are Nigerians..
ReplyDeleteSo na GEJ make us dangerous? Since everytin is GEJ
ReplyDeleteOh well!
ReplyDeleteGenerous my feet* why won't we be ranked as generous, when instead of curbing Ebola that was killing our own, the so called 'influentials' were busy participating in the ice bucket challenge that was basically the problem of the 'oyinbos' I am just concerned about our citizenry because left to those so-called leaders, our resources will be squandered and they will prefer to be seen as generous.. Mtchew *fake analysis, come and do your research properly biko..and stop using computer analysis to confuse people.
ReplyDeleteNigerians are obviously the most generous people on earth. First start your case study by the way people give out things on this blog, even to the people they don't know from anywhere and might never get to meet in this life. We are Nigerians are good people. "Good people, great nation.
DeleteHmmm that's nice, them talk true.
ReplyDeleteStella what's your point exactly from the last comment? you got me confused! *tongueout*
ReplyDeleteWe are very generous o, we should be higher sef. They might not help you before your case is serious o, but when it is very serious every Nigerian with the exception of boko haram will help you
ReplyDeleteWe are very generous o, we should be higher sef. They might not help you before your case is serious o, but when it is very serious every Nigerian with the exception of boko haram will help you
ReplyDeleteHmmm speechless
ReplyDeletemostly an average Nigerian prefers a show off of wealth to strangers or the public than to his relatives. so am not surprised; coupled with this rogues that steal our money and do not know what to do with the money they stole. They lavish it with impunity especially outside the country.
ReplyDeleteYou're right
DeleteIf they say Nigeria is first in the world, that will be very correct, with all the love giving and taking that happens here on SDK. You all will say a yes to that
ReplyDeleteWell atleast we've finally came second in something good.....we try
ReplyDeleteBut stella Nigerians are trying in the aspect of giving on like some countries that love practicing individualism (OYO)
ReplyDeleteYea it's true. Nigerians can be generous to a fault. I love my nigerian pipo.
DeleteNigerians cn be generous sha o
ReplyDeleteI agree
ReplyDeleteVery true. I am very very generous.
ReplyDeleteBeing generous is relative
ReplyDeleteNonsense report. For them to put UK at number 7. Loool. British people that won't even borrow their blood brother money. Borrow o, nor be dash.
ReplyDelete@anony 1:51pm. Do you mean "Lend" as in to lend something to another person.
DeleteBiko, it's not "Borrow "
