I'm a 32 year old lady, got married recently. Even though I have fibroid, before i got married my periods were like clockwork work.

Of recent it would be 2 to 3 days late. Presently its been 6 days and i don do pregnancy test tire. They all come out negative. Really don't know what's going on, please is anyone gone through the same or know what to do. My gynea isn't making sense .

    4. It might be the fibroids... go for a second opinion from another gynae. you might need to do a surgery to remove the fibroids. I had one done during the year and it went so well....pray to God n seek the right medical treatment. You'll be fine.

    1. U tink its normal cos it has happened to lot of women before, one week delay sef, but ask ur gynaecologist if d fibroid is located at the uterine lining or where implantation would be difficult do u do surgery, lots of women have fibroids or will have fibroids much later in life but still give birth, fibroids us more about the location and size, if it is big den do surgery to remove it but ur period might come soon but u know fibroids grow as u eat diary nd sugary stuff nd it cNt get do big Dt u might skip ur period. U Dnt tell us how big so Idnt know wat to say but google is your friend, there are lots of stories of women with fibroids there, even in baby center

  14. Sorry about your condition dear. It's not an easy ordeal my dear. Sometimes even the doctors don't make any sense at all. Mine is that since I got married in October, my formally perfect 28 days cycle now has a mind of its own. In October it was 27 days, November 22days and in December 26days. We are ready to try for a baby but how do you know when you ovulate when your cycle just fluctuates??? Doctors say it's nothing to worry about but what's the solution? Please bvs as you help this young woman, please help me with answers too. Thanks a lot.

    2. Dear,i think I have seen this your comment before...

I was having a perfect 28days cycle too until it changed to 27,sometimes 26..i was not worried one bit cos I never tried to think negatively!
I don't really understand why you are closely monitoring your ovulation period when you are at the honeymoon stage...just October and you want to start having sex when your ovulating?please. Have sex randomly, lol

Dear, remove your mind from all these things your are entangling it with and you will not even know when e go enter....I am not good at all these calculations and fertility things..but I know you don't have anything to worry about.

It is just too early to start talking to doctors and worrying, except there is something you are not saying. if you have something that is worrying you, probably a procedure that you suspect is affecting your ovulation, are you scared of something? open up to your doctors..apart from that, you have absolutely nothing to worry about..make love and enjoy your life please...one of these days,a sharp shooter(semen) will fertilise your eggs...happy sunday

  19. Dear Sister,
The honest truth is that you are putting yourself under unnecessary tension doing series of pregnancy test.
Yes they say you have fibroid, are you looking unto God or Doctors,
Whose report do you believe? Focus on one or both as your faith can carry you.
God has turned many fibroid cases to fine boys
He is no respecter of person neither is he a partial God.

  33. Are you stressed? Getting married sometimes makes you stress without knowing it. Have you changed your diet? You could have changed without knowing too.

I have fibroid which I only found out when I got married and I have uterine polyps which I only just found out too. Even when I was on the pill, periods were like clock work. Was almost 2 weeks late in September with possible sign of pregnancy; heavy and tender boobs, tiredness etc but when I came back from holiday, period showed face a week later. I put it down to change in pattern. Do your test to monitor and also check if you have changed your routine.

    ReplyDelete
  35. my dear is obvious you have a hormonal imbalance which to me; your own is caused by anxiety and stress of thinking about taking in.I know how it feels to wait for signs of pregnancy; but you have to relax and free your mind; and before you know it you will take in.for fibroid; as far is not disturbing you; like causing pains; tummy bloating because the fibroid is growing; then that one is harmless and it can be there and you give birth to all your babies. most women have fibroid in their tummy without them knowing because is not causing them pains or growing the more and they still give birth.I will suggest you see a good gynaecologist; as you don't understand the one you saw before; do the necessary tests to know if there are any other problem but please don't start pumping in drugs in order not to complicate issues.best of luck.I know you will have testimony soon

  36. I think u should look for another gynae. U can never compare ur body system with that of another person. At most u can give it more time, it may still come or may not. Ur new gynae will tell u what to do. Pray more all d same. Our life is always in God's hand.

  51. I will advise you to go for an HSG Scan to know exactly where the fibroid is located and how big it is.
All the delayed periods are the symptoms of the fibroid, some people are lucky to get pregnant with it while are others are not. If you have been advised to remove it , kindly remove it ASAP. i used to be on a cycle of 32-34 days and a period of 7- 8days until I removed the fibroid. There was no way I could get pregnant with the massive fibroid that was eventually removed and ovulation was never regular . Please try and take care of that fibroid if it is causing you problems before you start thinking of getting pregnant.

    ReplyDelete
  52. As for the lady that says her cycle now has a mind of its own from 28days, to 27,22 and 26. I think your own might be anxiety . You can just buy an ovulation booster alongside ovulation predictor kits to know exactly when to ovulate. You can also download an ovulation calendar online and monitor your period for a period of months , it will advise you on when exactly you are expected to ovulate based on your menstral cycle history you provide and you can start testing with the kits to be sure u are ovulating .

    ReplyDelete
  53. I suggest you seek another Gynae if present one is not making sense.
I think the fibroid might be messing with your cycle or you have PCOS.

    Are you ovulating?

    See a new Gynae abeg.

But meanwhile go on a healthy diet and add some minor exercises. Just to boost your overall cycle.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Like some people said and especially Jenny Zee, it could be stress, but I would advice you to have a second opinion from at least two different gynaecologist, more importantly because of the fibroid, you need to know the size and the location since you have been trying for a baby, please note this may not be the reason.
My story is a little bit similar to yours but I have been told that my own fibroid will needs to be operated on because one of them is quite big and blocking my womb. Before finding out about the fibroid, my period has always been irregular but I know it's due to stress and I was not bothered, then more confusion came when we started trying for a baby, I tried everything and then some months ago came heavy flow and also anaemic and most of the time comes late and very painful. I've had two examination including a scan and waiting for MRI scan but still, I am getting a second opinion from a private doctor that will shed more light to the situation.

Please get it checked out and pray for God's natural healing which is the best of all. Stay blessed.

  56. Let me share my experience and hopefully this might help someone too.

I was told after a scan that I had three fibroids by the doctor in england. He suggested I go on birth control pills to control the growth but I told him I had plans to get married soon and have babies asap. So he said in that case, BC pills weren't the best as it could take sometime for fertility to be restored once I'm off them. He told me to start taking folic acid and a multivatmin table daily.

Prior to this, my period was very irregular. Always between 31 days to 39 days, however, years ago, it used to be between 27 to 29 days. I was taking the folic acid and "A-Z" multivitamins tablets regularly and my period regularised back to 28 to 31 days.

I got married about 4months later and without my husbands knowledge using calculators/websites on google, I worked out my fertile days. I ensured my husband and I made love at least once during those days. At a point my husband was complaining but I ignored him. Lol. I will climb on him and ride him with reckless abandon.

To God be the Glory, a month after our wedding, I got pregnant. God is faithful and merciful and there's nothing too much for Him to do. Do your part (eat right, take necessary drugs like I did, calculate your fertile days, make love to your hubby as often as you can (during your fertile days) and leave the rest to God!
