Desmond Elliot Interview With Golden Icons

This NEVER RELEASED interview of Desmond Elliot was done in the Summer of this year '2014', but could not be released due to some technical issues.
This interview is explosive and all i see is a winner in Desmond!

Desmond Elliot's Interview: The root of our problem in Nigeria starts with Tribalism, and not realizing that we are ONE: Watch

Nollywood Ace Director/Actor  Desmond sat down with Emma Emerson of Golden Icons to discuss several topics including: his career, transitioning from an actor to a director, who earns more between Nigerian musicians and
Nollywood actors; on how Lagos as a city can benefit from Nollywood. When asked to list the top endorsed actors in Nollywood, he mentioned his humble self and others including,Genevieve Nnaji, Mike Ezuruonye, Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha, Funke Akindele, and Ini Edo, just to mention a few.

Part 2 of this interview got a little more interesting, as IT got down to his family, and talks about being married for 11 years, how he handled having 2 sets of twins, and addressed the previous online rumor that he relocated his family to the United States.

Below is an excerpt from Part 2 of this Interview on his LOVE for his country ‘Nigeria’:
Desmond: I am hoping for a Nigeria that is very fantastic says Desmond Elliot;
Emma: Do you think that is ever possible
Desmond: Extremely Possible
Desmond: Let me tell you why
Emma: Why?
Desmond: The former 10 year olds are now 18; and the former 18 year olds are now 36, so Information is increasing; and don't forget, Nigeria as a.. as a people, is specially created.
Emma: For what?
Desmond: We are specially created; do you know why we are special? I'm not joking now.. I mean it, cos' I've been almost everywhere, and I see a Nigerian in almost every country I've been to; and my question is: What are they looking for?
You must always see that a Nigerian is a powerful being, and we are beginning to understand that. The only thing we need to do now is teach our youth.. and let them understand that.. Listen, we are powerful beings. Our Major devil or demon is: the old thinking of why I am a Yoruba man and I shouldn't be talking to an Igbo man; or Why I am a Hausa man, and I shouldn't be talking to an Igbo man.
Emma: “You think Tribalism is the biggest issue” in Nigeria
Desmond: It's in it, and let me tell you who passes it across
Emma: Who?
Desmond: Our Parents!!  Our Parents... You know why? Immediately now…. Imagine kids…. Once a child comes.... I use my kids as an example….They come here to America…. They don't look…. they don't care if you are white or black, or blue or yellow.. Until you ask the question, is Jamie White or Black... You understand.... because they don't care!!
He further continued to describe the scenario, and then made one of his biggest punch lines... The moment we ‘Nigerians’, realize that we are SAME.... If we must grow first, then you must see yourselves as ONE.

  21. People lie to themselves by saying Nigeria is 1, Nigeria is nt 1! They do dis by citing example with U.S.A which has little or no ethnic nationalities like we do here! All the ethnic nationalities never opted to be united, we wia amalgamated, forced to become or act like 1, meanwhile all of us wants to be independent of the other. If u say Nigeria is 1, bcs of the nomenclature, den how do u judge dis, a scenario in which some1 whom u had nothing to do with earlier on, forces himself on ur family, claiming the same legitimacy with everyone of ur family members, demands to have equal right with everyone in d hauz, even though it appears he succeeded, u all in d hauz still knows dat u ppl r not d same with him! A forced unity can never produce tangible output, y bcs everybody forced into d union cannot work 4 d betterment of d union, bcs d union was de facto wise, established!
A country of over 250 nationalities! Different tongue, culture and everytin, ppl r here preaching we r 1! 1 in what tangible way? Bcs we adopt d name Nigeria or bcs we r all black? The best solution to curb d problem of Nigeria, is to form a confederation n not all this we must be 1 attitude! Our leaders knows that Nigeria is not 1 dats y dey keep fighting to hold on to Aso rock! If we r 1, y is d Igbo, Hausa n Yoruba alwz fighting to b at d helm of affairs? Dey do dis bcs dey understood d issue of Nigeria! Nigeria was born out of necessity, for easy governance for the British!
Tell me any country in the world with such ethic nationalities that is making any headway? Its only in Africa dat ethnic nationalities wia forced together n dat created misunderstanding with is hindering development n growth! Look at Russia, Britain, Japan, China, US, France, Spain, Germany n very many other major balanced economic states, these r 1 people. Compare them with forced unity countries!
Its just like a family of 10 in which all speak different tongue, tell me, how wud dey move forward, that was how d tower of Babel was destroyed, people cudnt understand themselves again!

    Its just my opinion shaa!

  23. Well today is the day i totally accept that i am gonna be the biggest fool on earth if i continue loving someone who is in love and committed to someone else.

I am also gonna be talking to my brother about a confession someone made to me recently on having a big crush on me (i thought it was just being friends).

Today is the day i realise i'm on a long thing when it comes to thanksgiving sunday, i don't have what to wear, how tragic it is going to be because i can't not go to church, please anybody that wants to bless me with a pair of shoes, i don't mind if it's old as long as it's not the only pair i've been wearing for almost two years now.
Nothing special for today or planned for the new year.

    Miss Somerhalder.
