Okigwe Traditional Rulers Fetes Okorocha Madumere And Pledges Support And Loyalty

Okigwe Council of Traditional Rulers have commended Imo Deputy Governor Prince Eze Madumere for his role in the success of Rescue Mission Government led by Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.

Speaking for the delegation yesterday at the Imo government house during a solidarity visit to the Deputy Governor, the Chairman of Okigwe Council of
Traditional Rulers, HRH, Eze Mathew Onwenu expressed gratitude to Prince Madumere whom he described as hardworking, trustworthy, for his immense contribution to the monumental feats so far achieved by Rescue Mission Government led by Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha.

Eze Onwenu pledged their loyalty and unflinching support to Governor Okorocha and Prince Madumere. He also praised the "African Personality Award" winner for his administrative prowess and his non destructive and non divisive spirit shown in his relationship with all, the character he said has to do with his good upbringing as a Prince.

Citing numerous examples why they distinguished Imo number two citizen, Eze Onwenu who spoke in Igbo said they all watched Madumere pilot the affairs of Imo State Government with so much sagacity that everywhere remained peaceful and functional with no hitches at all during the periods the Governor was not around.

He therefore pledged their unalloyed loyalty and support even as he observed that Prince Madumere is supposedly responsible for administrating the functionality of the Traditional Rulers.

The Okigwe Traditional Rulers however extolled Governor Okorocha for his massive infrastructural development especially the schools and roads at the rural areas praying their completion in good time especially as dry season has begun to set in.

In response, Prince Prince Madumere thanked the Traditional Rulers led by HRH, Eze Onwenu for their visit and commended them as well for their role in the success so achieved in Rescue Mission Government especially in the area of security.

"His Excellency, our Governor, through Community Government Council restored the dignity of our Traditional Rulers and also gave them responsibilities. Today, your positive response to that call to duty in concert with the security agencies has restored peace in our land and made even one of the most peaceful States in Nigeria", he enthused.

Speaking further, one of the ten most outstanding Deputy Governor in Nigeria also assured the people of Okigwe and the entire people of Imo State that every project begun by the Owelle Rochas Okorocha led government will be completed in few months as contractors and other workers have already moved in.

"Recently His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha released about N4 billion to CGC for the completion for aggressive pursuit towards completing all rural projects. I am am sure you are all aware. Already, all the schools among the 305 school buildings under construction are over eighty percent completed. By December, there is no gain saying the fact that most of these projects would have been completed," he concluded.

He therefore called on the Traditional Rulers to remain steadfast in their duty as custodians of the culture, tradition and cherished values of the people as he also charged them to resolute in their maintaining good conscience and justice in the discharge of their traditional duties. He also called on them them to support the Rescue Mission Government led by Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha, the decision he said they cannot regret with what they have experienced so far.

  1. He has probably promised them brown envelopes that will last for a while. That's how to get unflinching support in most parts of Nigeria.

Stella I don't know who is feeding you with all these lies. The worst thing that can happen to Imolites, is Rochas staying in office beyond 2015. I didn't even know this Mathew Onwenu has been discharged from hospital, just recently he was beaten beyond recognition by the youths of his community for his involvement in the many lies and deceit of Rochas adminstration.

I have a job with a low pay and I'm managing myself but the debts I brought upon myself all in a bid to get accomodation is killing me. My house is empty all that's there is a mattress couldn't even buy cooking items yet. I eat once a day Because I need to pay my debts. And the temptations I'm getting no be here coupled with the fact that I meet a lot of people because of the kind of job I do so the advances I get is just too much. I love my boyfriend and he helps small small even though he's not working but my condition is making me think of diverting. if only my pay was a bit more. God please help me.

  16. I hope they get to build okigwe better, though i enjoyed my service year in the2008,still alot of appropriation have to be put in place,to help investment with the number of banks in the town, amenities such as electricity and good roads should be fixed.
How can i forget the infamous robbery that took place in December that year where they wiped almost all banks and killed a lot of people broad day light. The tragedy was mind bulging, the town has to be more security continuous.
