- Report says, at least 40 people, including five soldiers and a local hunter, were reportedly killed on Thursday after an explosion went off around Mararaba-Mubi area of Adamawa State. According to report, Boko Haram insurgents planted the bomb.
-. Many Nigerians, including the All Progressives Congress have called for the dismissal of the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Suleiman Abba, over his refusal to acknowledge Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal as the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Those who supported the APC in the call include some Senior Advocates of Nigeria; Olisa Agbakoba, Yusuf Ali and Niyi Akintola.
-There are indications that up to sixty-three Senators as at Thursday, 27th November, 2014 have signed in support of the move to impeach President Goodluck Jonathan in the upper legislative chamber. Report further showed eight Peoples Democratic Party senators have equally signed in favour of the move.
-The Senate on Thursday said the allegation of corruption levelled against members of the National Assembly by former President, Olusegun Obasanjo was unfortunate and spurious. The Chairman, Senate Committee on Information, Media and Public Affairs, Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe, in a statement said Obasanjo’s allegation was aimed at tarnishing the image of the lawmakers.
-The All Progressives Congress, APC presidential aspirant, Sam Nda-Isaiah, yesterday denied report that Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose ordered for his arrest, admitting that the Divisional Police Officer in the area where he lodged actually stormed the hotel with some policemen with the notion that the hotel was about to be invaded by thugs. He said the issue was resolved after his security details intervened.
- Many Ogoni people stormed Government House in Port Harcourt on Thursday to protest the endorsement of a member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Dakuku Peterside, as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the state. The protesters however vowed that they would not accept the verdict of the stakeholders as they asked the leaders of the party and the state Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, to change their decision and choice.
- The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Dele Olugbemi, is of the views that the last week’s removal of Dr. Adewale Omirin as the Speaker of the Assembly was highly legal. While speaking in Ado Ekiti, Olugbemi through his media aide, Mr. Femi Idoko, also said that the claim by the All Progressives Congress legislators that Governor Ayodele Fayose wanted to turn them to house boys was incorrect.
- A former Minister of State for Works under President Goodluck Jonathan, Chris Ogiemwonyi, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress. -From all indications, it appears Stephen Keshi will continue as coach of the Nigerian national team, after officials confirmed he will get a new deal.
There have been calls for Keshi to be sacked as Super Eagles boss, after the team failed to qualify for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Equatorial Guinea.
Samson Siasia was dismissed after he failed to lead the team to the AFCON 2012 and observers have been clamouring for the same treatment to be meted out on Keshi. But an executive committee member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Emeka Inyama, says the Big Boss is set to continue in his role.

The Brazil legend is suffering from a urinary tract infection, but it reported to be in a “stable” condition.“The Albert Einstein Hospital informs that the patient Edson Arantes do Nascimento (Pele) has been admitted in an unstable condition,” a hospital statement said.
“To receive the best care, he was transferred in order to be monitored in a special care unit. The hospital will provide a bulletin should there be new information.”
