Good morning! Here are things you need to know this morning:according to dailypostng
- Members of the House of Representatives Committee on Police Affairs, yesterday summoned the IG of Police, Sulieman Abba over the last Thursday invasion of the National Assembly by the Police. During the the session, Abba insisted that some thugs tried to gain access into the premises of the federal legislature, the reason the police resorted to the use of teargas and force. Abba’s comment that Tambuwal was no longer the Speaker infuriated the lawmakers who asked him to revert his statement.
The Inspector General of Police, Sulieman Aba insisted that it is wrong to address Aminu Tambuwal, as the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The police boss simply addressed him as “Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal”, a title that provoked members of the House Committee on Police Affairs.
The police boss simply addressed him as “Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal”, a title that provoked members of the House Committee on Police Affairs.
According to the IG, it would be “subjudice” for him to address Tambuwal as speaker or any matter relating to him so long as such a matter was in court.
Chairman of the House committee, Mr. Usman Bello-Kurmo, asked him a direct question, “Is Aminu Waziri-Tambuwal the Speaker of the House of Representatives or not?”
The IG replied, “Mr. Chairman, you know that matters before the courts are subjudice.“Commenting on them is subjudice until they are disposed of.”This, however, brought the session between Abba and the committee to an abrupt end, as the two parties stormed out of the venue.
´ The Lagos state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has asked the Directorate of State Security (DSS) to show Nigerians the copies of the cards it alleged APC cloned in its Data Office in Lagos. - Abduljalil Tafawa Balewa, son of Nigeria’s late Prime Minister and presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has finally stepped down for President Goodluck Jonathan after he insisted few weeks ago that he was still in the race. Report says he stepped down for Jonathan after he took part in the presidential screening exercise at the party’s secretariat on Wednesday.
-Report says Justice Mohammed Nasir Yenusa of the Federal High Court in Lagos yesterday ordered that the DSS
DSS unseal the office/warehouse of the APC forthwith. He also ordered that the five data entry staff being held in custody of the DSS be produced in court on Friday.

Stella Oduah’s company, SPG reportedly owes staff five months salary
Princess Stella Oduah’s Sea Petroleum and Gas Company Limited (SPG) is allegedly owing its workers five months salary and other entitlements.
Oduah is one of the major financiers of Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN), the frontline group campaigning for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan next year.
DAILY POST gathered on Wednesday that despite splashing multi-million naira for the expansion of her business empire after she was dropped as Aviation Minister, Oduah appears to have forgotten those on payroll in SPG.
Sources said the situation had caused disquiet within the company with some staff hinting at their resignation by the end of the year, if there was no improvement.
According to them, while the situation persists, some of their boss’s gas stations at the Lekki area of Lagos were wearing new colour.
Oduah established the oil marketing company in 1992 after she left NNPC and today, SPG is one of leading independent oil marketers in Nigeria, the source stated.
However, the SPG is not the only arm of Oduah’s business empire that is feeling the heat.
Paparazzi, a weekly tabloid, which has its office in Abuja, the nation’s capital has not paid its staff 3 months salaries.
It has also asked them to vacate their offices, an indication that the paper is shutting down.
Furthermore, other media organizations she opened to run the 2015 campaign for President Goodluck Jonathan – Citizens Mail and Courage – have equally been shut down, throwing workers and Editors into panic as they were not compensated.
A Citizens Mail staff, who pleaded anonymity, said “shortly after we were shut down without pay, our MD died of stroke. This is what Stella has caused us.
“Again, the Managing Editor of Nigerian Courage, Mr. Gabriel Abutu died shortly after the paper folded. This is unfair. You do not capitalize on the fact that there are no jobs to punish family men and women”, she lamented.
Seemingly unperturbed by the plight of these Nigerians, Oduah has indicated her interest to represent her senatorial district in the National Assembly come 2015, a seat the incumbent, Senator,Margaret Okadigbo wants to retain.

ReplyDeleteHmmmm.
ReplyDeleteI like that Tambuwal man, he looks like a God's honest man but well looks can be deceiving.
ReplyDeleteTambuwal's political profile is dainty.
A Tambuwal/Fashola for presidency (though, this country isn't ready for a Muslim/Muslim ticket) would be cool. Or a Tambuwal/Duke ticket.
We need a fresh breath from all these old school political rigmarole.
GEJ is slimy, taking out his contenders one by one either by lawsuits or having them contend with some political brouhaha.
Mahn, all these trigger happy policemen, though. God help us.
Amaechi should learn to bridle his tongue. We understand he likes to be blunt, but can he apply wisdom please ?
PDP internal wrangling might be the party's undoing, come 2015. They need to get their shit together. (Not like I want them to)
Atiku needs to go back to Adamawa or wherever he emanated from. He is too power hungry.
Grandpa OBJ, aki yin sir.
But all these problems you are listing, why not proffer a solution ?
Stella Oduah, she has used her staff's salaries to buy contact lens. Eku wobia, Aunty ole.
