The Super Falcons of Nigeria have won the 9th edition of the African Women Championship after beating the Lionessess of Cameron 2-0 at the Sam Nujoma stadium in Windhoek, Namibia.
In the final game, Coach Edwin Okon’s team showed supremacy as Desire Oparanozie and Asisat Oshoala scored in the first half to ensure Nigeria wins the trophy for a record seventh time.
The victory, also means the Super Falcons have avenged the 1-0 defeat they suffered to the Lioness's in the third-place play-off of Equatorial Guinea 2012.
Congrats to them.I am so excited over this Victory
Super Eagles learn from these women. They've been making Nigerians proud for a very long time now. My only annoyance is they don't get as much publicity and their male counterparts who do nothing but bring the trophy home once in every 18 years.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Super Falcons!!! Thank you for making Nigeria proud!
And I don't think they get as much money either...just the way politicians and well meaning Nigerians give out landed properties in Abuja to super eagles..i think they should do same for these girls...They have made us proud! nice one

I wish FIFA can make a law that permits countries to swap female teams 4 d male teams if d country feels they can do better, ds way we can clips d wings of those Eagles that can't fly to save their lives!
