Mehn! The horn free day was massive, lasma used that as an opportunity to cash in on some offenders.

But they are not supposed to collect money from anyone now. Leave the names of the people that collected money from people, they will have to answer to that.
DeleteActually there's a fine of 20k if u blow ur horn around a school, hospital, govt building or security house.
DeleteLagosians were patient with thr driving and noise was less, but danfo drivers can never change sha o.
But it went well and it was a good intiative.
I no blow horn because my horn don spoil sinceeeee. But some people still did sha. Nice initiative tho
DeleteHorn free ke, not possible. Lastma couldnt handle all the offenders.

DeleteI no get car so I no blow horn. But Lagosians tried. Thumbs up to them. horn blowing was at its barest minimum. I'm sure the BRT drivers were the most frustrated cos they can blow horn for Africa.
ReplyDeleteLet's do this more often BRF

Lol, madam stella, we try oh. I used my horn 2 times, a car in front of me was backing up, see as i scatter ground, then i got home and my gateman was missing, after waiting for few minutes, i had to scatter with horn oh. Nice initiative though, because really noise pollution needs to be controlled. Sola
ReplyDeleteI angrily blew d horn too, at one guy like that. Can't even remember what his offence was again. I totally forgot it was horn free day abeg! Kudos to those who obeyed!

ReplyDeleteIt worked a bit. I'll give them 60%. It goes to show that when we want to achieve something, we can! So why can't we fight corruption? Just asking

ReplyDelete@ Alloy Chikezie ..I THINK YOU JUST COOK THAT UP. LASTMA DIDN'T ARREST ANYONE FOR BLOWING HORN YESTERDAY. WE CAN SAY IT WAS A SUCCESS,COS IS THE FIRST TIME AND IN A CITY LIKE LAGOS.. THE AMAZING PART WAS THAT MOST DANFO DRIVERS OBEY THIS THAN THE SO CALL MY CAR
ReplyDeleteI agree, was out most of yesterday, was pleasantly surprised, from ikoyi to vi to mainland back to island..i think I only heard sum1 horn once, even the danfo drivers were well behaved, kudos Lagosians
DeleteDid it work? Not really because I heard so much noise yesterday. People forgot I guess
ReplyDeleteIt didn't work on d island, ajah n ibeju @all
ReplyDeleteBut I undastand cos most drivers on dis route r innocent hired assassins.
If u don't want ur fellow driver to kill u or try to push u to kill, u cant do without horn around ds axis!!!

ReplyDeleteHahahaha infact, immediately i can out of my street to the road i used the horn and quickly realised 'it's no horn day' and i maintain until i got to Apapa area and danfo want to jump to my front i quickly used the horn again. In another occassion i used it to draw someones attention who was rying to revised his car in my front.
ReplyDeleteThe 'No Horn day' makes one more concious of driving.
Someone was trying to "revise" his car "in your front"???? You know you don't have to comment right?
DeleteI also will like to know how they coped because Nigerians are very noisy people.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't a success but I noticed that there was a consciousness in my area; most people didn't use their horns but by the time I got to work, it was noise pollution everywhere. I personally think the publicity was poor and we can do better.
