Nigeria's National Honour Recipients

 Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi was decorated as an Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic, OFR, by President Jonathan Yesterday September 29,2014.




This recognition and honour is coming 55 years after he designed the National
flag in its green white green format.He has been placed for life on the same salary level with all senior government officials.Congrats to him.

Well done Presdent Jo!

From left: Presidential steward, Onu Isaac Michael, Taxi driver, Imeh Usuah and traffic warden Cpl Solomon Dauda were conferred with the Member of the Order of the Niger, MON and MFR, yesterday September 29,2014 in Abuja by President Jonathan. Usuah was honoured for returning the N18million a passenger forgot in his taxi. The three of them also got houses in Abuja alongside their awards.

*What about that boy that returned the dollars he found in the hotel he works and got just a handshake from the governor?that boy should be recognised oh.

Nollywood Alister Joke Silva was conferred Yesterday Monday September 29,2014 with Member of the order of the Niger MON.
Beside her is actor hubby Olu Jacobs and their Son.
congrats to Her.

  11. Perhaps in another year, the guy who returned the dollars in his hotel too will be rewarded. Recall that the driver who returned the foreign currency too in Abuja took more than two years for him to be given a national honor. Better late than never I would say.

I just love this list..the common man got something the big and mighty have collected for years..Even tho Pa is old..at least let it be known that he was honoured in his country..honour is more than money..@Stella maybe they started compiling this list since,that is probably why that hotel boy and so many deserving Nigerians didn't make the list...my thoughts ooh..i don't think these things are put together over night..IMO #GEJ

Don't know why people make a big deal about honoring the man who designed the flag......he has been given previous awards and he was given monetary award when the flag competition took place.....some people are just not destined to be rich in life so his poverty should not be blamed on the government not recognizing him....
