Obi Justina Ejelonu was one of those that treated Late Liberian Patrick Sawyer who died of Ebola in Lagos .Justina and her colleagues gave thanks to God for sparing them from contracting the virus but have tested positive
pic from USAfricaonline |
She shared this on her social media handle
“I never contacted his fluids .i checked his Vitals, helped him with his food.(he was too weak)…..i basically touched where his hands touched and dats d only contact. not directly wt his fluids.@a stage, he yanked off his infusion and we had blood everywhere on his bed…..but d ward maids took care of that and changed his linens with great precaution. Every patient is treated as high risk ….if it were airborne, by now wahala for dey. i still thank God.”
“Friends, up to our uniforms n all linens were burnt off. we r on surveillance n off work till 11th.Our samples v long bn taken by WHO n so far we v been fine.
For me, kudos to my hospital managt cos we work proffessionally wt every patient considered risk cos that’s d training. had it been its a hospital where they manage ordinar gloves lik Govt hospital n some janjaweed private hosp..:lol….wahala for dey o.i must also thank Lagos Govt….infact! Even fed govt sef….all been supportive. im good n so r the others in d hosp…..”
Justina went into quarantine after that post and has now tested positive to Ebola. Some Nigerians however have started an online campaign to pressurise the US government to give Justina and others down with the virus the same experimental drugs used for US doctors down with Ebola.

DeleteI have said this before and am still saying it, There are alternative doctors in USA that know how the human body can heal itself, the best thing now is how these people can boost their immune system. Why can't we just give these doctors a chance?
ReplyDeleteWell said
Delete..i have been following the 2 American doctors story aside from the serum that was given to them, they said their vital signs are checked regularly .In case they need any thing via vital signs they know and they give it to them. For instance,if their vital sign shows dehydration and low blood they transfuse blood and electrolytes to them.
In all the victims need good care. Saw some victims in Sierra Leone and liberia come out of it safe.
My prayers to this victims and I pray they get the necessary medical attention they need.
I suggest room should be given to those who have ideas on how to curb this Ebola further.
I saw a comment on previous post from a woman whose hubby's idea on handling Ebola was rejected. Hmmm, dear Nigeria Govt Ebola is not about out image nor our keeping up appearances ooo. It doesn't know whether your. poor/rich, Govt/masses.
Let all hands be on deck to stop Ebola now!!!
Faith without works is dead...and wisdom is profitable to direct.
One love....#Peace Ambassador
May God help her and others
ReplyDeleteIf u did not touch his blood and u r now positive. How about the cleaners that changed the soiled sheets????good heavens.....
ReplyDeleteShe fed him (saliva MUST have touched her skin) and she only touched where he touched (fluid - sweating). She was ignorant of the prevention measures cos it was the first time she was dealing with a real time Ebola issue and was not duly educated. She came in contact with the primary host unprotected.
DeleteWORD @copgirl.

ReplyDeleteAND THAT GOD GIVES THEM THE COURAGE AND FAITH THEY NEED AT THIS TIME.
Survival rate for Ebola is 50%. Can our lazy government stop looking at America and do something? The people who survived in Sierra Leone didn't get no vaccine.
ReplyDeleteThe people who survived in Zaire and Congo didn't get no vaccine.
Instead of getting serious, our government set up a committee headed by "BITTER KOLA recommending" failed INEC chairman.
Get to work and stop looking elsewhere
OMG..... I knw dis babe. Pray she survives.
ReplyDeleteOluwaBlesyn
If she didn't have so much contact with Sawyer and she still contacted the virus,,,then what happens to the ward attendants that changed his blood stained bedsheet??? Seriously,,even the US medical team are not sure how the virus is contacted,,,all they have said so far is just mere guess work....I pray this lady survives this thing.
ReplyDeleteAm having headache from all this ebola stories jare. US abeg oo,,,be ur brother's keeper at this time,,,help save innocent lives.

Almighty Father in Heaven we need you now more than ever. Please come to our rescue and heal our land of this deadly virus. Poor lady, she was so sure she was safe and now this. God please heal her and other people who have tested positive. Patrick sawyer was sent by the devil. See where his stubbornness has landed him and our country. If he had just stayed back in his country all this wouldn't have happened. He knew what he was up to, wicked man.
ReplyDeleteShe will survive it in Jesus name, she and everyone who comes in contact with it are healed by the blood of the lamb!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness!!! I hope she pulls through this. I bet there is more to this wash and sanitize your hands cock and bullshit story.

ReplyDeleteKai, Lord have Mercy!!!
ReplyDeleteStella, I've read reports of those who survived Ebola in Guinea and Sierra Leone. I believe this disease can be defeated. I'm no medical personnel but based on what I've read, a sure way to defeat it is for the bodies of victims to strengthen her immune system to fight it. Medical personnel, over to you to shed more lights on this.
ReplyDeleteOMG!
ReplyDeleteAfter she wrote this, she tested positive?
ReplyDeleteSad. May she recover.
Poor poor girl!
ReplyDeleteD Balm Of Gilead is surely by ur side

ReplyDeletehttp://blogs.unicef.org/2014/08/07/ebola-in-sierra-leone-the-joy-of-survivors/
Let us not despair, there is hope - some people have survived and with time the survival rate will get higher. We will be very careful but whatever happens, we shouldn't lose our positivity and overcomers mentality. It is well.
Ps 61:2-4
2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.
4 I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings.
God please save this lady. I pray the American goverment reconsiders it's stand on Zmapp
ReplyDeleteIM SO WORRIED 4 MY NIECES AND NEPHEWS...WHAT HAPPENS WHEN SCHOOL RESUMES?????????????
ReplyDeleteSTELLA PLS MAKE A POST ON DIS SUBJECT
so sad
ReplyDeletethe thing now is to boost immune system cos with a strong immunity ur body can fight off the disease.
All those blood pressure apparatus that the wrapped round pple's arm in hospital is anoda fast way of contracting d virus too.dont know what measures is being put in place especially during antenatal check up where one apparatus is used for more than 100s of pregnant women
really scary
God pls we need wisdom on how to tackle this
What about the cleaners that cleaned his blood n all dat. We need a vaccine for this shit! Babe you won't die, as you cry to God Nigerian's are crying to God too. Ure healed!
ReplyDeleteThis broke my heart......God please intervene
ReplyDeleteStella this is the more reason why I am very furious with those that see a reason to make a joke out of the Ebola epidemic. These are real people with real families and real issues. God help us. I pray she survives too.
ReplyDeleteI WENT TO CNN.COM AND READ A POST BY HARRIET WASHINGTON TITLD "MAKE MORE EBOLA DRUG AND GIVE IT TO AFRICANS" AFTER READING D COMMENTS THERE I WEPT....
ReplyDeleteIt will never be well for The useless sawyer for what he has done to Nigeria. May God punish him,his entire family and generation unborn.
ReplyDeleteHe will never rest in peace for intentionally running to Nigeria even after Liberia doctors placed him on red alert. he secretly flew to Nigeria and died here.
He is a Terrorist.
OMG! I pray they all survive oooo. God pls, keep us too.
ReplyDeleteBOKO HARA--- CHIBOK GIRLS--- EBOLA?? NIGERIA IS NOT SAFE.. GOD PLEASE I NEED TO GET OUT OF THIS COUNTRY NOW!!!!!!!! HEAR MY PRAYER
ReplyDeleteHonestly, i don't understand why the US is being so hesitant about releasing the drugs to the infected Nigerians. Those infected in Nigeria were all infected as a result of an American citizen's stubbornness. The man was one of their own and he brought this evil upon those who tried to care for him. Why is the US waiting for it to be a widespread epidemic before doing the needful???
ReplyDeletePls who knows anyone in akwa ibom, uyo nd eket precisely...I am a corper servin in aks at the moment and I am lookin a job that I can apply 4 when I leave the camp...pls I need honest replies......
ReplyDeleteWahala dey o.I believe this outbreak and the subsequent reaction of the west has proved once and for all that Racism is real.i find myself hoping that the virus lands in America, lets see if the drug will still be termed experimental! The plagues of Egypt is what those bastards deserve
ReplyDeletePfizer used experimental drugs in Kano. Google to find out what pfizer suffered for it.
DeleteOMG she was my senior in secondary school. May almighty heal her and others. Am in tears.
ReplyDeleteThis thing is airborne o!
ReplyDeleteScared as hell.....Chukwu biko nyere umugi aka.
ReplyDeleteSo pathetic... I pray God heals her. Its really serious and she was so careful. I wonder d state of d maids dt actually took d bed sheets...SMH

ReplyDeleteDear Lord, have mercy and let this girl live...
ReplyDeleteSawyer Patrick's soul shall see no peace.
ReplyDeleteEzinne
For all those affected, they need to build their immune system. I'm a nutritionist and a doctor. Let them buy ForeverImmu blend tablets, forever aloe gel drink, forever nature 18 anf follow d instructions. These are forever living products and trust me, even as a doctor, I have see the wonderful effects. Let them also drink a lot of pure beetroot and carrot juice-using a juicer.
ReplyDeleteI actually attest to the beetroot. My son has sickle cell and takes 50cl of beetroot daily. He's never had a crisis for 4yrs. He's 5 now. Then he takes a lot of goji berries and flax seed oil- the Udo brand
DeleteSir N.dr Agwoturumbe, well said, we weren't proactive, yes; but this lady and the others infected shouldn't pay the price of the Government's 'carelessess', pls oooo
ReplyDeletePipi Lee
*for not of
ReplyDeletePipi Lee
IMG. This is worrisome. Justina I wish u the best of luck and mercy of God. But we may not known he terrible this thy is until someone very close or even we ourselves r infected. My wife is a nurse just like Justina. She goes to work every day. I imagine my wife in her shoes and can't bear to think abt this! I strongly suggest a two to three weeks sit at home exercise nationwide so w can known true position of thgs. This will to a large extent prevent freshcases. HeHealth workers she be properly sensitized abt their jobs and the US she help out with the already infected ppl
ReplyDeleteI mean my thoughts may not n organised BT my message is that w need to be proactive!
May God see u through sweetie. Omg i cant begin to imagine how she felt when d news s broke to her.....smh
ReplyDeleteThe govt should pls so sth. Asap
Welldone Lagos State govt for doing all possible to avert a spread of the dreaded disease and taking care of those infected ....
ReplyDeleteAwwww! :( Pls o!they shouldn't allow Justina & her colleagues to die just like that. The US should send this vaccine over here already! Haba!
ReplyDeleteMy prayer for you Justina, is that the balm of Gilead will rest upon you and your colleagues. Divine healing is your portion.
ReplyDeleteI pray for all medical personnel, may God protect you all as you care for others.
Dear Lord please come to our aid. Forgive us our sins oh Lord! #tears!
Y in heavens name will d man yank of the iv line. someone who claims to be a health personnel, he knew exactly what he was doing. this man was indeed on a mission.
ReplyDeleteawwww... This is really sad. I pray something happens quick for all that have the virus. sad sad story
ReplyDeleteShe will not die in Jesus name! The healing hand of God is at work in her.
ReplyDeleteI am Nigerian but to say i'm ashamed of this country is putting it lightly. Why do we depend on America for everything? We have brains and the financial capacity to research and bring in these medical companies into Nigeria. America is taking care of their citizens, why can't Nigeria do the same?
ReplyDeleteAs for the experimental drug, it is clearly written experimental, if they give this nurse now and something bad happens to her, all of you begging will turn around and insult the Americans. So Nigerians should just shut up and allow them develop the drug properly or if we can't wait then go into laboratories and start researching.
My heart goes out to the nurse infected.
Hmmmmm Stella so scare ooooo if America rnt ready to do smtin. Where is our trado crew I mean black and white herbalist dey shld consult dere oracle nau. If it's sacrifice we go do. Haaaaa ds is 2much. If an ordinary egg fit burn house Ebola shouldn't be difficult nau.
ReplyDeleteSo sad! I feel for her
ReplyDeleteThis is so unfair.
ReplyDeleteStella justina died today. Her family just announced it now. So sad
