Nigerian Man Chuka Umunna May Become First Black British PM

.
On May 7, 2015, a Nigerian, Chuka Umunna, could make history by becoming the first black Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

Born in London in 1978, Chuka was bred in the UK. His late father, Bennett, hailed from Anambra State while his Irish mother, Patricia, is a solicitor.

Co-incidentally, Chuka shares startling similarities with the United States President, Barack Obama, who is the first black President of the world’s most powerful nation.

For instance, Chuka is of mixed race, being the child of a Nigerian father and an Irish mother while Obama is also of mixed race, being the offspring of a white American woman and a Kenyan father. Also Chuka’s father, Bennett, was killed in a mysterious car accident in Nigeria in 1992 while Obama’s father was killed in a car accident in Kenya in 1982.

If history repeats itself as it is being predicted by British political observers, Chuka, who is also a six-foot tall lawyer like Obama, could become the first black Prime Minister in the UK.

*If Obama won the elections in America.......then everything is possible if you believe!

  13. I wish him goodluck but UK is different from USA...
dem UK folks attitude towards a black person is way different from that of the states. Obama succeeded because the African Americans stood behind him. however, the mere mention of Naija in this guy's biography may cause further hostility considering the beheading of a soldier in broad daylight by that evil guy called Michael and the wound is still very fresh in their minds.
    Goodluck to him tho..

  15. America is very different from Britain.. Remember Stella that the Monarchy still exist in the UK? So how is he planning on going about it? The royal family will def not endorse him..And the British are more conservative and would rather maintain the status-quo.

    1. Truth is anything can happen and as regards the royal family , no one is promised tomorrow so you never can tell, the queen might abdicate the throne, prince Charles is old enough as it is already, the queen's grandsons are not so like their grandma so really anything can happen cos a large number of Britons are not exactly fans of the monarchy as it is. However Chika is going to have to wait a little while to give it a shot, he's still got a "contender" in his party to deal with so in the mean time he will continue to master the ropes but he has done so well for himself as well so he stands a good chance when the time comes.

  18. Even if the guy is qualified to be one, so long as its in the UK, I think it will be difficult. Their racism surpasses even the unthinkable on earth. But hope I am proved wrong. Good someone this young has his head on such a position and I pray he gets it.

  35. SDK,

you hav'nt told us anything about this man in terms of what makes him a potential prime minster. he's mixed race and his father was killed in a car crash??? is that all it takes to become PM these days? what is his political pedigree? what does he even do right now for a living? who is he??? what party does eh belong to in the uk?

also the bris are much much more conservative than the ameicans o. don think they're ready yet for this.

  36. Not hating, but not in the uk. Racism from white & asian will not allow it. Infact I don't know who hates blacks most between Asians and White. Do not forget the influx of Eastern Europeans and the Spanish and they hate blacks as well.

  40. He may well become but not next year.. He's not the Labour Party leader.. Ed Milliband would have to lose next year for Chuka to assume leadership of his party.. Ahead of the 2020 election..

  41. It will take a 100 years for what happened in America to happen in the UK. British society are very conservative and not very open to change until almost the rest of the whole has embraced the change. Look at history and you will understand what i am talking about. For example, women were only allowed to start voting in the UK many many years after it was allowed in America.
I am not saying it is not possible but it will be definately not this generation and many many more years to come. The British Society is not ready for a black Prime Minister. They are way far from it. Hope it it happening is still 1%.

  56. He is on his way to becoming the next prime minister but that should be in the next 5years because Mr Miliband the current labour leader is going to represent Labour in the next election, if labour party loses the next election am sure Mr Miliband will resign while chuka will take over as the next labour party leader maybe then prime minister. He is a like able guy,i am sure british are ready for change after all people said blacks can never rule America in the past but Obama prove them wrong.

  60. Ok o
    We are watching o
Will be glad if it can come to pass
But I can't imagine a mixed race getting the position of a PM
Not in this UK where I am.
Even the royal family no go give their blessings.
Imagine the way the Queen treated Gordon Brown and Toby Blair during her grandson's wedding, not inviting them giving flimsy excuses that it's because they are Catholics .
    That woman wicked!
A mixed race will be PM over Lizzy's dead body.
