1. It has been revealed through a military source that some of the explosives used recently by the Boko Haram female suicide bombers have been traced to a Chinese factory which was seized some weeks ago by the sect. Other findings have also revealed that some of the teenage bombers were not told they were on a suicide mission before they embarked on the mission....who revealed this info?




2. Chika Amalaha, the teenager who won the first gold for Nigeria in the ongoing Commonwealth games has been stripped of her weightlifting gold medal after failing a doping test. Dika Toua from Papua New Guinea has now been awarded the gold medal .



3. it has been announced by the Lagos State government that out of those who had contacts with Mr. Patrick Sawyer, the dead Liberian victim of Ebola virus, two had shown signs of fever.The Commissioner for Health, Dr Jide Idris, made the disclosure while addressing newsmen on the status of the virus in the state. He was however quick to say that does not mean that they now have the virus.
1+1=1?someone is quarantined on suspicions of having the ebola virus and that person has fever and you say it does not mean they have the virus?they should lock him in the same room with the two people and see what he says next!....the best way to curbing this is being truthful about its spread!




4. After 21 days of no work, the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) on Friday suspended its strike due to the intervention of relevant stakeholders, especially that of the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu. The peace deal was however reached after a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the end of a meeting between the Minister and JUSUN leadership in Abuja on Friday.




5. The Ghanaian government on Friday banned all flights from its neighbouring West African countries of Nigeria, Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia due to the fear of the widespread Ebola virus. Charles Asare, Managing Director of the Ghana Airport Company disclosed the government’s decision.



6. President Goodluck Jonathan has sacked the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Andrew Yakubu. The president in statement on Friday announced the changes in the oil sector. Dr Joseph Thlama Dawha is now the ew Group Managing Director.



7. The Akwa Ibom State Government said it had received threat text messages from the Boko Haram terrorist group, warning of an impending attack in public places in the state.A statement issued on Friday evening by the state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr. Aniekan Umanah, disclosed that the targeted public places include churches, markets and schools, among others.




8. A former Senate President, Ameh Ebute, has rubbished claims by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Adegboyega Awomolo, that the procedure adopted by members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly to serve Governor Tanko Al-Makura an impeachment notice was wrong, defending that service only meant getting the requirements of bringing impeachment notice to the person for whom it was meant.



9. A suspected ritual killer nabbed by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Lagos State Police Command has confessed that he grinds human heads into powder as charm for ladies who are looking for good husbands and big contracts. The man identified as Olasunkanmi Owolabi, 43, said the concoction is also used as cure for stubborn sores, mental illness, sickle cell anaemia and epilepsy.




10. Report says bush meat sellers are lamenting in Benin, Edo state over low patronage due to the outbreak of Ebola virus in Africa. It was further reported that most of the sellers have been forced to close their shops due to the low patronage which they have said was not expected.

Jonathan sacks Andrew Yakubu as NNPC boss 
President Goodluck Jonathan has sacked the Group Managing Director of the NNPC. This was released on Friday by his special adviser for media and publicity. Dr Joseph Thlama Dawha has been appointed as the new Group Managing Director.



Tight security: PDP mega rally in Osun 
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) OSun state chapter  has beefed up security in Osogbo as part of preparations to conduct a mega rally. The rally will host the president and his entourage in the state says Prince Bola Ajao the state Publicity Secretary. 



Ebola : dead victims contacts now 70
 Lagos state government yesterday confirmed the number of suspected persons who were in contact with the late Ebola victim Patrick Sawyerr has risen to 70. One of the suspected persons developed a fever but tested negative to the disease. This was confirmed by the state commissioner of health Dr Jide Idris....they should still keep watch on the person,the fever was as a result of...?  



Ghana bans flights from Nigeria, Liberia others 
The Ghanaian Government has announced the ban of flights from Nigeria and other west African countries following the death of a Liberian victim of the Ebola virus says Charles Asare Managing Director of Ghana Airport Company. ...Nigeria should also ban flights from the affected countries and watch the borders lnking Nigeria and these countries with high risk.




BH SENDS AKWA IBOM TEXT MESSAGES?
The Akwa Ibom State Government said it had received text messages from the Boko Haram terrorist group threatening to attack public places in the state.
A statement issued on Friday evening by the state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr. Aniekan Umanah, said the public places targeted include churches, markets and schools, among others.
Umanah advised members of the public to be security conscious and be extra-vigilant by reporting suspicious movements to security personnel for immediate action.


ABIA HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY DENY IMPEACHMENT PLOT  
The Abia State House of Assembly has totally dissociated itself from the rumoured impeachment plot against Governor Theodore Orji, describing the speculation making waves in parts of the state as baseless and unfounded.
