19yr old rapes nursing mother 

A 19yr old boy named Peter Momoh was arrested in Agenebode area of Edo state for raping a nursing mother after seizing her baby and threatening to kill it. Nigeria commences ebola screening at airports

The Nigerian civil aviation authority announced yesterday that it had started temperature-screening passengers arriving from Ebola risk regions. It has also suspended Pan African Airlines, Asky for bringing the first case to Lagos. 

Ebola: 69 under observation. 2 quarantined

The federal ministry of health has placed 69 persons under observation for 3 weeks. And 2 people in. Quarantine for their direct contact with the late Patrick Sawyerr who recently died of Ebola disease in Lagos. The ministry says that Nigeria has not closed it's borders at the moment but will do so if the need be. And the other passenger on the flight are yet to be found.

Gunmen kill 15 in Rivers

15 lives were lost when 12 men armed with AK-47 rifles opened fire on on citizens of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area of Rivers State. The men were transported in 6 motorcycles and their operation lasted from 9pm Wednesday till the early hours of Thursday.

The Kwara state arm of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday accused the former sports minister Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi who publicly declared membership of APC. Village head commits suicide 2 days to daughters wedding!

Chief Samuel Emeonu Ozengwa's body was found hanging in a tree on Wednesday around 7am in the village of Umunkita,community in Obingwa local government area of Abia state.The community is in shock as this incident happened countdown to his daughters traditional wedding. The reason for his suicide is not known by relatives and his subjects. 

I hope people have not started murdering people and hanging suicide on the peoples neck..too many suicide cases

APGA chairman and Gov Okorocha's $2m bribe

Ebola infected aid worker heads back home to the US...

A hospital in Atlanta is preparing to receive a US aid worker infected with the deadly Ebola virus in West Africa.

The unnamed patient will be flown to the US in the next few days for treatment at a high-security ward at Emory University Hospital, medics said.

The worst outbreak in history has swept through the region, killing 729 people.

A spokeswoman for the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said her agency was working on the transfer with the US State Department.

Barbara Reynolds said she was not aware of any Ebola patient ever being treated in the US before.

But in a statement, the Atlanta hospital said it has an isolation unit which is specially equipped to deal with this kind of infection.

On Friday, the head of the World Health Organization and leaders of West African nations affected by the Ebola outbreak are expected to announce a joint $100m (£59m; 75m euro) response plan.

Sierra Leone's president has declared a public health emergency over the outbreak after 233 people died there.

Ebola spreads through human contact with a sufferer's bodily fluids.

Initial flu-like symptoms can lead to external haemorrhaging from areas like eyes and gums, and internal bleeding which can lead to organ failure. It kills up to 90% of those infected.
