1. President Goodluck Jonathan will today visit Uyo to commission a gas processing facility, including a 69-kilometre gas pipeline at Uquo-Ibeno.
The state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr. Aniekan Umanah disclosed the President’s visit in a statement, assuring that all had been put in place to ensure the security of the President.

2. Chairman, Organisation and Mobilisation Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the South-West, Prince Buruji Kashamu, has debunked the claims that President Goodluck Jonathan abused state power for deploying security operatives to Osun State during last Saturday’s governorship election. Kashamu in a statement said it was time political leaders discard politics of bitterness and rancour, and play the game with some level of decency and maturity.


3. Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, on Wednesday stated that about 198 cases of Ebola virus infections have been recorded in the country. The Minister further disclosed that of the cases, 177 are said to be in Lagos, while the remaining 21 are in Enugu. He also disclosed that so far, only three persons have lost their lives to the virus.


4. The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) has said it will not ‘eat its words’ in the position taken against President Goodluck Jonathan to before or by October rescue the abducted Chibok schoolgirls or forget his second term ambition. A member of the forum and former Vice-Chancellor of the Ahmadu Bello University, Prof Ango Abdullahi said the forum was ready to carry out its threat regardless of any kind of opposition.


5. The government of Osun state has denied the allegation by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore, that its Deputy Governor, Grace Titilayo Laoye-Tomori was arrested for carrying ammunition during the state election. Reacting to Omisore’s claim, the chief press secretary to the Deputy Governor, Mr. Tope Ademakinwa said that the allegation was a lie and aimed at causing confusion in the state and hatred for the Deputy Governor.
6. Enugu State Deputy Governor, Mr. Sunday Onyebuchi, on Wednesday slumped while testifying before the panel of enquiry that is investigating allegations of impeachable offences levelled against him by the state House of Assembly. The Deputy Governor had testified for about three hours when he started complaining of dizziness and thereafter, collapsed into his seat.

8. The National Emergency Management Agency on Wednesday disclosed that statistics at their disposal shows that over 400,000 persons had been internally displaced in the troubled North-eastern region of the country since January. Information Officer of the Northeast zonal office of the agency, AbdulKadir Ibrahim gave the breakdown of the figure.


9. Kaduna State Governor, Mukhtar Yero on Wednesday denied ever receiving intelligence on the twin bomb blasts that killed and injured several people in the state in July. Responding to media reports that indicted him of receiving intelligence report prior to the blast, his Director-General, Media and Public Affairs, Ahmed Mayaki, said the governor had no security report that gave him a fore-warning on the twin blasts.



10. The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu, has approved the redeployment of Senior Officers of the service. The new postings and redeployment, according to a statement by the Director, Public Relations and Information of the Air Force, Air Commodore Dele Alonge, affected 29 senior officers, comprising 14 Air Vice Marshals, 14 Commodores and a Group Captain. The spokesman said that the postings were expected to take immediate effect.

Enugu Deputy Governor slumps before impeachment panel LOL
Enugu State Deputy Governor Mr Sunday Onyebuchi on Wednesday slumped while in court testifying before the panel if inquiry set up to investigate impeachable allegations by the House of Assembly. He testified for about three hours before complaining of dizziness and collapsing into his seat. 
According to his lawyer Ogochukwu Onyekwuluje the Deputy governor was taken to a hospital and was diagnosed with high blood pressure. 
Sources say that Onyebuchi slumped barely five minutes after the arrival of his perceived adversary Chief of staff Mrs Ifeoma Nwodo in company of the state Attorney General Mr Anthony Ani SAN. 



Sex workers out of business in Ekiti 
Commercial sex workers in Ekiti state have experienced a sharp decline in business since the outbreak of the Ebola virus disease in Lagos. Sources  disclosed that sex workers in 6 brothels in the state capital actually chase out customers who indicate that they are from Lagos or traveling from there. One of the sex workers who spoke anonymously disclosed that herself and her colleagues have resolved to avoid the large sums of money paid by customers from Lagos in fear of contracting the disease. 


FG names 4 test centres
The Federal Government has named four laboratories for testing of the Ebola virus disease. These aw Lagos University Teaching Hospital, centre for Disease Control in Asokoro Abuja, University College Hospital Ibadan and Redeemer University Laboratory along Kilometer 35 Lagos Ibadan Expressway. The FG aims for Jos, Kano and Enugu by the weekend and  9 total testing centres by the end of August. 
Professor Andulsalam Nasidi, Director General of National Centre for Disease Control said that efforts were made to get ZMapp drug through Nigerians living in the Diaspora. 




Ebola scare in Aso Rock : Governors Obiano, Akpabio and Orji greet with fist hit. LMAOOOOOO
The State Governors Willy Obiano (Anambra), Godswill Akpabio (Akwa Ibom) and Theodore Orji after a recent meeting in Abuja were seen hitting fists rather than shaking as is the tradition amongst men. 
They posed for the cameras to educate and demonstrate to Nigerians how to avoid infection by a potential Ebola virus carrier.
Biko Governors you people should educate yourself properly first o. A fist hit also involves skin contact and can expose a person to Ebola virus. 


Chibok girls: October Ultimatum for Jonathan stands
The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) has reiterated it's stand on its October ultimatum to the President Jonathan for the rescue of the Chibok girls or the forfeiture of 2015 reelection ambition. 
Former Vice Chancellor of the Ahmadu Bello University and member of the forum Professor Ango Abdullahi  said that the statement released was an exercise of freedom of expression. He goes further to emphasize that the  statement comes with consent of all members of the forum and should not be considered as personal statements from Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed and Solomon Dalung who are both members of the forum.

  13. Northern elders should combat d level of poverty in d north 1st before giving ultimatum,n besides d whole Nigeria is not for d north to rule all d time,we need to give chance to other states too,as much as I dnt like Gej, I prefer him to rule than all dis hausas in power.
