Boko Haram writes Nigerian Army 
Major General J.S Zaruwa of The Nigerian army special operations battalion of the division 3 at Kukareta barracks in Damaturu Yobe state has disclosed that last Friday his command received a letter notice of attack for August 09 by suspected Boko Haram insurgents. August 09 is Saturday ooooh,the question is where and time.God please take control.





Ebola scare in Ogun  
Ogun state epidemiologist Dr. Yusuph Akeem confirmed on a radio programme last weekend that there were two suspected cases of the Ebola virus Disease in the state. The suspects work in Lagos and are currently under surveillance. 



FG visits synagogue church 
In a related development Lagos state commissioner of health Dr Jide Idris and federal health officials have visited the general overseer of synagogue church Prophet Temitope Joshua in an attempt to prevent the spread of the EVD as a result of the large influx of west African national to his church in Lagos. 



Aba: mad woman stones own baby to death 
A young mentally challenged lady in Aba who gave birth to a set of twins in the early hours of Saturday was reported to have stoned one of the baby girl to death after she was roused from sleep by the crying of the little child. Residents of the area thereafter alerted the police Divisional Police Officer for Ogbor Hill, Mrs Helen Nze who led a team to rescue the living twin child. 


Indigenes demand land back to vote for Okorocha
The indigenes of Owerri during the Annual Oru Owerre festival in Owerri demanded that their land be given back by their Governor Rochas Okorocha as a condition for re-election. The Governor was booed as he addressed them in typical campaign style. 



Ebonyi APC chieftain resigns 
Chief Chaka Nweze chieftain and former interim secretary of the All Progressive Congress ( APC ) has resigned his membership and informs that this decision is irreversible. He stated that the party was no longer functional in the state due to the tussle between Dr Ogbonnaya Onu and Senator Julius Ucha factions. 



WHO grants $100m to fight Ebola 
World health organization head Dr Margareth Chan has announced a $100m Ebola response plan. She expressed concern at the rate of spread of the disease which was the deadliest and largest in terms if geographical area. Dr Chan in a summit of regional leaders in Conakry Guinea said that the outbreak could be contained if well managed. 


2 contacts of Ebola victim show fever signs
The Lagos state commissioner for health Dr Jide Idris has revealed that the 2 contacts if the late Ebola virus disease Patrick Sawyerr have shown signs of fever. He however indicated that these individuals have not tested positive for the virus and says that they will remain in quarantine until the elapse of the 21 day incubation period if the virus. 


Corpse of late SAN stolen, mortician arrested. 
The mortician in charge of Christ Specialist Hospital Enugu has been arrested in connection to the break in and theft of the corpse of Chief Theodore Ezeobi, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) last Thursday morning.
The Enugu state Police public relations Mr Ebere Amaraizu has confirmed the disappearance of the corpse and investigation is ongoing. 


IKEDC and NIBSS partner for online payment platform 
The Ikeja electricity Distribution company and the Nigerian interbank settlement systems Plc have created an online platform to facilitate convenient payments for pits paid customers. 
The platform went live on August 1 on IKEDC website and uses debit and credit cards as well as internet banking portals of banks with the NIBSS e-bills pay platform said Mr Pekun Adeyanju head of Communication Strategy.

The US has announced plans to send at least 50 public health experts to west Africa to help combat the worst ever Ebola Virus Disease outbreak

- Mrs. Olufunso Amosun, the wife of the Ogun State Governor, has called on the people of the state to vote her husband, Ibikunle Amosun, for a second term in office if they were satisfied with his performance.
She said this during an empowerment programme organised by a member of the state House of Assembly representing Abeokuta-North, Mr. Olayiwola Ojodu, on Saturday.


-The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has sent a petition against Governor Tanko Al-Makura to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The Chairman of the assembly’s Committee on Information and Security, Mr. Baba Ibaku, said that Al-Makura would face the EFCC after his impeachment.
“We have petitioned the EFCC and after   our impeachment process, the governor will know how to defend himself,” he said.
Ibaku was reacting to an allegation by the All Progressives Congress’ Chairman in the state, Mr. Philip Shekwo, that the assembly members   pocketed   N7.78bn   constituency allowance given to them by the state government in three years.”



-The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal, said on Sunday that it was against the law of the land for anybody to start campaigning for elective positions in the 2015 poll when the Independent National Electoral Commission had yet to give politicians the nod to do so.
Tambuwal in a statement in Abuja on Sunday, dissociated himself from the posters flooding some parts of the Federal Capital Territory, promoting him as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress. Although, he thanked the promoters of the idea for considering him worthy to vie for the Presidency, the Speaker advised them not to violate the law by initiating campaign ahead of the official declaration by INEC.


-The paramount ruler of Ikorodu, the Ayangburen, Oba Salaudeen Oyefusi (Oguntade II), has died at the age of 83 after months of battling with ill-health.
The Oba died in London on Saturday at about 7:30pm.


-Leader of Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, NDPVF, Alhaji Asari Dokubo, has denied allegation that he masterminded the bombing in Kaduna that almost killed former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.)
Asari, who spoke in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, said the allegation was part of a ploy by those behind the attack to rubbish him ahead of the 2015 general elections.

Now that the extremely old oba of ikorodu is dead, we the Ikorodu residents live in fear as everybody is aware of the fact that he has to be buried with 14 people(not a joke), everyone now rushes home when its getting late. And I'm so sure the govt knows about this, but what are they doing in other to stop this barbaric act from happening
