OGUN asks Adeboye to take Ebola precautionary measures
The OGUN state commissioner for health Dr Olaokun Soyinka said yesterday that the Government has issued a letter to the office of the Redeemed Christian Church of God requesting that precautionary measures be taken to avoid the spread of Ebola virus disease during its annual convention which kicked off on Monday.
Fashola reverts LASU fees to NGN 25,000
The Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola on Thursday announced the reversal Lagos State University tuition fees amid pressure from academic unions and students of the institutions. This development comes after a sharp increase of tuition fees in 2011 to prices between N 180,000 to N 350,000. The Governor indicated that the reversal was Global to all faculties and departments.
Ebola: Liberia apologizes to Nigeria. The Liberian Minister of State for foreign Affairs Mr Nurudeen Mohammed told journalists in Abuja yesterday that President Ellen Sirleaf-Johnson was sincerely and deeply sorry that Patrick Sawyer had brought the Ebola virus into Nigeria. He indicated that the deceased was under surveillance in Liberia but sneaked into Lagos.
NMA denies calling off Strike
The Kaduna State Chapter Secretary of the Nigerian Medical Association Shehu Abdulran, has debunked social media rumors that the association has called of its strike due to the Ebola virus disease outbreak. He said that the association was yet to come to terms with Government. He however indicated that they were Doctors working voluntarily in public hospitals irrespective of the strike action.

APC Says PDP smuggled in ballot papers from Abuja
The OSun state chapter of the All Progressive Congress APC has alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party PDP secretly brought millions of ballot papers into OSun state from Abuja. NMA President faces impeachment for calling off strike
The Nigerian Medical Association NMA may soon impeach it's President Kayode Obembe for allegedly taking a unilateral decision to call off its Nationwide industrial strike action. In a statement released by NMA delegates after an emergency meeting in Abuja debunks the earlier announcement that the strike had been suspended and confirms the Association's intention to continue with the strike until their needs are met by Government.
Customs intercept sacks of Indian Hemp Okrika clothes The Oyo/OSun area command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intercepted a consignment containing 234 wraps of Marijuana concealed in fairly used clothes and shoes fondly called Okrika. The area customs controller Richard Oteri said the consignment was intercepted on its way from Benin Republic-Nigeria border in Ago-Are in Atsibo Local Government in Oyo state.
Nigerian special forces drive out Boko Haram from Damboa, Delwa
The Nigeria special forces in a 40 hour mission which began earlier in the week have successfully cleared Delwa, Mustafari, Manga, Wanga and Damboa of terrorists who have been rampaging the communists. Troops have also been involved in maneuvers to dispel terrorists who have been attacking Gwoza and surrounding localities.
Terrorism: Security Chiefs meet in Port Harcourt to sensitize the citizens
Security chiefs in Rivers state have stressed the need for citizens to be very concerned and conscious of their security. The call wasted during a sensitization lecture on explosive attacks organized by the state Police command. US rejects Nigeria's request for ZMapp Ebola drug
President Barack Obama has announced that the experimental drug ZMapp which is currently being administered to the American Doctors who contacted the deadly Ebola virus disease cannot be made available to Africa at the moment due to the fact that it is still undergoing testing. He has insisted to allow the work of the scientists take full course before making conclusions about the efficacy of the treatment. The Nigerian Minister of Health Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu had earlier contacted the US CDC in an attempt to acquire the drug.

ReplyDeleteIn other news, Bv i have a serious problem; my boyfriend is younger than me with a couple of years. we are so in love with each other and we are already talking marriage.(I am yet to get a job) The issue is that he is from the eastern part of the country and also his parents are yet to find our about the age difference. Do i still continue with this guy or just break up everything. He is Presently doing his masters in UK and wont be back till next year. Igbo people in the house please advice a confused sister.
The drug is still under going testing but was used on the 2 Americans and they got better.
