Imo State Orientation Camp Dormitory And Bathroom

ATTENTION IMO STATE GOVERNOR

You saw Kogi state NYSC Corpers lodge HERE yesterday and you thought that was horrible? Well Kogi state is learning .... here's Imo state orientation camp dormitory and bathroom !!!.

Horrible nightmare wont be a good enough phrase to describe what this pic represents.

Blog visitor Tosan sent this in after seeing Kogi state Corpers lodge ''Over 102 girls in a dormitory with just a 40wax bulb,I had to wake up 3am daily to bath outside because the bathroom is an eye sore.I thank my stars I survived it ''.

This is horrible and I call on the Imo state governor to attend to
this mess ASAP.These pictures tell a really bad story!

    10. Hahaha. Blog visitor Tosan so u were in dis camp too. It's a miracle how we all survived 3wks here. I used 2 pray myself to sleep evrynight. Coz u'd jst keep hearing people coughing from different directions, it was scary o...but thank God. The nysc camps are just d half of it tho, the entire nysc scheme is a scam and shud b scrapped. What the govt is doin is endangering our lives, simple! Here in imo, the number of people posted 2 schools dat neither pay nor provide accomodation is crazy. And it's just nt fair if I av 2 pay rent as well as transport from d meagre 19,800 we get paid. There's barely enough left to feed wth. all Rochas does is put billboards wth his face evrywhere. It's just sad. I can go on and on but mehn, I'm tired o.

I served in bayelsa and we were over 100 in a tiny room, coughing, winch, snoring, etc, u sleep naked & still be sweating like buckets of water were poured on u, if u sleep near lesbian, na leg or ankle dem go take dey romance ur breast, as if e no dey enough, some people would be having phone Sex and moaning like horses, Infact make I stop hia

You know corp members play a lot of role in messing up the facilities...

    2. Babie I disagree o. Even tho it was bad, it wasn't this bad. D first day in camp, d place was sha neat. Trust human beings na, by d following day d place was all messed up. D day I finally decided to have my bath in d bathroom rather than using d regular outside bathing method, I had serz rashes on both feet which till today I still have d scars cos I scratched d hell out of my feet. Weneva I look at those scars, I remember NYSC. More like a souvenir I got frm camp. It is well!

      Delete
    3. I forgot to add that what caused d rashes was d fact dat d passge for d water was blocked by stale water, mixed with different people's urine on d floor and probably some people's menstrual blood, sweat from d whole day's activities, evaporated armpit, body and mouth odours combined, can't even mention everything. Some human beings r just PIGS sha with no atom of cleanliness. Lyk barbie said, corp members r d cause of some of these problems.

    4. Lollll...shun am. corp members no dey hear word.
That 3weeks was hell, I just dark immediately. I threw caution to the wind, didn't even bother packaging.
Imagine me as I like shakara reach, I just decided not to brush ma hair, even to pack d hair well na war...hhahahahaha.
When I see people making up then, I say shey na for this dirty camp all of us dey...issokay, continue
Nne as we pass out, na me 1st stand for gate o. I can't really say they should scrap the scheme because I enjoyed every moment.

And on the toilet side, I will go into the bush for short put.lol. Am sure a lot of us can relate with this. I was dere too!
We wld wake as early as 3am to bath in d cold, cos d sun rises earlier dan usual in d east. D toilets were blocked wit sanitary pads n all.
I loathe the 3wks I spent in dat orientation camp.
And d banks were damn too far frm the bush dey carried us to, I got in2 trouble wit d soldiers for sneaking out to witdraw mony, d food wz horrible(d cooks were even stealin frm d kitchen), and d soldiers were restless, dem no dey let food digest b4 dem com chase us(na to hide oo).

NYSC shld be scrapped biko! The aim of d program is defeated. Our govt is too corrupt to fund the program.

  44. Haba! This is not the life. We have asked the government to scrap this NYSC of a thing cos it has lost it essence but those in charge won't agree as they are benefitting heavily from it.

Though my orientation camp (Mogaji Dan- Yanusa) Nasarawa State, Keffi was so spacious and neat for it was newly built and we were the 2nd set (2008) to use the place.

I heard the former camp was an old primary school in a jungle-like area, where the indigenes would come in the night to rob and rape corpers.

Camp was kinda harsh but my dear, life after orientation was something else. Some of us got bitten by snakes, scorpions and all sorts. I thank God for my life Stellahipsy. May the souls of those who lost their lives continue to rest in peace.

Imo State government please have mercy. Life is beautiful but this one is dangerous abeg. *prostrates*

  46. Almost all the camps are like this. During our own time, we were always bathing outside nah. Who had the time to be queuing for zinc erected bathrooms. That was where I learn how to do 'shotput' and fling inside the pit one time! The only thing with the bathroom was that you have to wake very early to bath as people moving on the major roads were likely to feed their eyes on our bodies. Then we dress up and continue sleeping till whenever they called us out.

  51. Since over a decade ago, same Imo orientation camp has been like that! And to worsen situation, Pythons crawl freely around the camp. Stella, you won't believe that they warned us then that it was a taboo to kill those big snakes. The fear of snakes is also a nightmare in that camp! Those pictures of hostel reminded me what we went thru and the sigh of relief we had after the completion of the camp! Endurance walk was another night mare, we passed thru very thick forest to anoda local govt with just footpath access alone.
What about after posting? But the people of Imo, I can't trade them for anything, their food is also superb! I tried to make a lemonade out of the lemon NYSC Imo chapter gave me then. I believe that's what is expected of everyone. Best of luck to you there, we survived it, you will also!

  55. Stella, imo state Nysc orientation camp is the worst camp in nigeria cos I served in imo. Umudi camp is not what I would wissh my farthest enemy. I remember waking as early as 3am to bath in front of d hostel in a very cold weather cos it was rainy season. Umudi no be here @ all, we would be bathing and guys would be passing cos it was during d muslim fasting period. We paid to charge our phones,no bathroom, no toilet for over 2000 corpers, no lecture hall to receive lectures, u'll see corpers lying down under d tent using polybags sold for 20# and when rain fell d canopy will start to leak seriously, there's no security in d camp as it is not fenced, d villagers are mixed wit corp members, sometimes a mad woman joins d parade. I am so sick of many African nations and their acceptance of the worst, as though the people do not deserve better.
