Ebola - Suspected Case In Port Harcourt As Govt Officials Hold Emergency Meeting!

A well connected Blog visitor in PortHarcourt just contacted me to say this

''Stella there is a suspected case of Ebola in Port Harcourt Ooh.The hospital is
GOOD HEALTH HOSPITAL DLINE and blood tests have been sent to Lagos for confirmation. There was an emergency meeting at the government house last night.People are worried!''

*The governor of the state should immediately take the same emergency measures taken by governor Fashola of Lagos state to contain the virus and other state governors should be on the alert and not wait for it to land their state before running helter-skelter.....We can only breathe a sigh of relief when the worst hit Ebola regions in Africa is free from the virus, until then everyone should still be alert and take precautionary measures.

Nigerians take it easy on urselves, make una no begin de die of High Blood Pressure. Atleast those living in PH should wait for results first b4 they start panicking....

    1. Cholera isn't as deadly as ebola, you won't blame people for assuming every case of stooling and puking is ebola.

The governor did not issue any statement on this so i wonder where u heard the governor denied it. The test results will be out today. So until then, let us all hope and pray that it comes our negative.

  29. Let the test results come out first nah, before we throw the whole PH into panic. But I don't understand this one they are sending lab tests to lagos to confirm. Does it mean that hospitals like Braithwaite and others have not equipped their labs to identify such cases? This is really odd oh. Abi dey believe Ebola is only a lagos disease ni?

  30. This is so annoying. I'm a Port Harcourt person I can categorically tell you all it CANNOT be contained as quickly as Lagos managed to. Our officials all are lazy and totally bereft of any moral backbone. The worst politicians all rend civil servants na PH them dey. People will soon start running away to hide and that's how this thing will spread. The doctor is as evil as Patrick Sawyer. Now he's dead...ironically his big man client is still alive. Foolish people that will jeopardise the whole nation for money.

Shebi just two days ago,we were watching d News n dey said dey have contained it...
      Contain what?!
How do u contain Something u can't account for?!
Can dey account for every single person dat was in FCH d days dat Evil Sawyer was dere?!
From d first patient down to the visitors...
So I just i knew I wasn't gonna take Deir word for it....
      No b our Govt again?!
Suddenly d money dat was meant for fighting dis epidemic,to pay d Health workers risking Deir lives for our own good,my Brother d Minister said it's to purchase vehicles

      Ana emenu....

The Diseases of d Egyptians shall not see us and our families o,Amen!

  36. Pls anyone who knows the name of this doctor needs to publish it, because as a doctor he must have treated other patients, he must have met people socially. People need to know if they have made contact with him or his immediate family. Even the name of the hotel should be published, for anyone who might have gone there in recent times or know someone who went there or someone who works there. May God help us eliminate this terrible disease and protect us all. And please people take all necessary precautions

  44. The same reason we cant trust the military over boko haram is same reason we cant trust doctors in this matter, not 1, not 2 medical personals have displayed deleterious behavior in this very crucial time.

All sense of precaution and discernment is gradually eroding. We have a weak weak system and we allow the wrong wrong people lead us.if some people have lost office for this ebola, the others will sit up.

The instant headache i got hearing its in PH.#sigh#

  45. The Good heart hospital is where the Doctor ...Ikechukwu Sam Enemuo..was rushed to after he took ill with symptoms of Ebola. He was said to have operated on a woman on Monday presumably after secretly treating the diplomat. Fell ill next day Tuesday and died last Friday. No one knew about this hotel angle which was a very big risk he took...and unethical thing to do.. He was ill for 3 days...then started vomiting blood with bloody diarrhoea. He was rushed to Prime...where he was rejected and then taken to Good heart whose MD is a Cardiologist ..a consultant physician with UPTH. He died there. Good heart is on EVO road in GRA ph2 THE Doctor that died practices in East West Road Rumuokoro...Sam Steel clinic. The wife also a Doctor has a 3-month old baby. There may have been well over 200 contacts of this devilish diplomat who lured his young Doctor friend to treat him secretly and went back to Lagos. I hear he has eventually submitted himself for Ebola check in a bid to get a clearance certificate to fly out..he tested positive and is now quarantined in lagos..It's quite a calamity unfolding in Ph. Unfortunately Ph health facilities are not quite ready to contain Ebola at the moment. There are American experts and federal and WHO health workers in town however training Drs and other healthworkers and helping out with contact tracing etc Please we need to be on the watch, as victims might try to avoid going to the clinic because they don't want to be quarantined. Ebola is a deadly virus and we need to help the government spot out possible case so we can be free again.
