The sender of this mail is in Tears and wants something done fast!
''Hello Stella,There was an attack on Saturday in Adamawa state and the casualty is staggering. My God, am in tears right now becos an officer i know so well is confirmed shot and missing. That's becos no reinforcement was sent to rescue injured soldiers.
Am just praying that he's still alive and hasn't bled to death bcos I'll be devastated. Thank God that my neighbour who was missing has been found alive, his wife is pregnant. A lieutenant has been confirmed dead, casualty for soldiers is unknown.
Its by Gods mercy my husband wasn't part of that team bcos he's been deployed there also. Stella please, pealse and please. Who knows if the COAS will do something to save our husbands. I don't want to be a widow Stella.
Please, soldiers are dying like chickens daily and there bodies are not even been retrieved. OMG crying......
The Nigerian army is simply being callous and hypocritical in this fight against boko haram. Soldiers and officers are being killed in their numbers daily with nothing being done about it.
It is true that the Nigerian army have NO arms and ammunition to prosecute this war. Can you imagine soldiers being burnt live in armoured personnel carriers(APCs)? These APCs are dead and rusty. They usually contract old retired soldiers who fought in the Nigerian civil wars and Onitsha and Aba boys to help reconstruct parts of this APCs because these parts cant be gotten from manufacturers as they have been phased out years ago.
These soldiers are forced to drive this dead armours and get stuck in the heat of battle. The BH then come and burn them alive inside these tanks. Other times they kill the soldiers and take the tanks. The tanks BH have all belong to the Nigerian army.
Right now soldiers have had it to their necks. We know they swore to pay the ultimate price but that doesn't mean they be treated as chickens. How do you want these men to be motivated when they see their colleagues die and cant Even be buried properly with the honour they deserve. The bodies of soldiers are left to rot in the bush in BH strongholds, and the ones they get their bodies are given mass burials with no honour or respect. These soldiers are seeing this daily and you expect them to fight wit vigour and selflessly?
Since the inception of this war the Nigerian army have been promising to procure ammunition's and up until now there is nada on ground. Its no secret that BH have more sophisticated weapons than the almighty Nigerian army.
Am sending this because of the news that some soldiers refused to engage in offensive without armour and the quick response of the army in the negative. Its appalling that they're quick to respond wit no action.
The army have not bought a single weapon in decades. The few that survived Biafran war were grounded during our big brother role in Liberia. Even the weapons produced by DICON is the worst. Soldiers prefer the old weapons to the supposed 'new' ones. DICON cannot produce a simple functional AK47 weapon.
One then wonders whats been happening to the billions made available since the onset of this war, not to talk of the yearly allocation to the army. The army has been corrupted and its all about amassing wealth by the big boys.
Soldiers who died in the line of duty are still been owed their dues. Families have been left without a breadwinner and some big shot in an AC office in Abuja is still sitting on their entitlement for years.
Soldiers with gunshot wounds are left to treat themselves, with most of them going to seek for treatments traditionally in their villages.
Isn't it surprising that there's no army trauma hospital in the north east or Nigeria as a whole? Even 44 army reference hospital in Kaduna doesn't have a trauma surgeon or a standard trauma unit.
Am not even talking of the fact that soldiers are left to provide basic amenities like toiletries, mosquito nets and the likes for themselves while they are holed up in the bush. No raincoats or covers during this raining season with soldiers having to eat just bread all day as there's nothing else available in these bushes they are.
So Nigerians let's be more sympathetic to these young men out there and turn our anger to those with the fat ranks in Abuja who prefer to see young lives cut short. All they are interested in is profiting from this war.
Let me state categorically that president Jonathan Will never go anywhere near the north east because he and the generals know that the army cannot guarantee his safety. Except of course they want to build a wall round the president with bare-chested men as they don't have functional bulletproof vests.
The Kevlar in what you see them wearing cant withstand a common nail much less bullets. I rest my case here but please tell the chief of army staff that we are still waiting for the ammunition's he went to buy months back. Our fathers, brothers, sons and husbands are dying and they deserve better.Thank you''
*OMG
Smh. Actually we as a country don't have a government, and I think the time to split this country is ripe

ReplyDelete*hands on my head* Why are our leaders doing this to us? Whyyyyyyyyy? We have the resources and wealth to tackle all these problems, instead they waste the money on armoured cars, private jets, houses e.t.c. Baba God Almighty, please forgive Nigeria and stop using our leaders to punish us. We have sinned against U but please forgive us.
ReplyDeleteOur leaders knows what to do but won't just bother. Nor be ordinary matter be this again. Abi kini a fe shey bayi? What do BH want naa? This bloodshed is too much. God please, forgive us and come to our rescue. *tears*
Why won't ur leaders treat u that way when most of u youths don't know ur right In this country even support incompetent men like Jonathan. Ur sufferings continue so all of u who support leaders because of sentiment should continue to suffer as it is. This same army men are the richest men in Nigeria after our politicians. Generals my ass.
DeleteWhat Manna Bee said...its quite unfortunate. Lord have mercy on us all
DeleteInfact army generals might even be richer than politicians lately!they are the only ones seeing the money in dis evil regime, and instead of buying the ammunition it's meant for they are d only ones busy buying all the expensive lands and houses in maitama and asokoro of the FCT!army generals are the kingpins now o.but d blood of these brave soldiers that died fighting this cause will never let them rest in peace and enjoy that money,amen!....#had tears in my eyes reading this, can humans be so heartless cos of money?smh!God have mercy
DeleteWho did this country offend
ReplyDeleteThis is too much
Everything is going wrong
hmmmmmmm
ReplyDeletesomebody needs to be sacked!
By God, this county is not worth fighting for.
ReplyDeleteThose that lay their lives for Nigeria, no honour, nothing.
Damn this country! Damn the Nigerian Government.
wharahell!
This is disheartening. I have friends there too. Jonathan govt should do something. He should be leading the war.
ReplyDeleteD recent victim's fundraising that was done Abuja was a clear case of misplaced priorities. Why didn't d government raise funds for d military that way we reduce d no of victims if @ all any. Those thieves who looted Nigeria blind r still given relevance till tomorrow. Madam may God protect ur husband n all others who have sworn to pay d highest sacrifice. This government lacks focus.
ReplyDeleteAnd bh jst declared gwoza an islamic caliphate. That's hw they plan to conquer nigeria one area at a time.
ReplyDeleteWell done madam. But you forgot to add that those who survived the attacks are being court martialled and sent to prisons.....both officers and soldiers. Court Martial is on going in almost all the Divs
ReplyDeleteWhat can we do pls, lets do something, lets lend our voices,I have seen the video dat was released by boko haram,I saw our soldiers helpless and having no choice but to flee, even at that bullets shot at them, lets start a petition or something,my cousin was the young officer killed june,I dont know how to start a petition but I am begging anyone that knows should please start and lets support.......I don vex and cry taya as I watch the video......Asasty
ReplyDeleteEiyaaa
ReplyDeleteGod, please come to our rescue. Enough of this already.
ReplyDeleteA STITCH IN TIME SAVES NINE.!!! Good luck Jonathan plsssssssssssssssssss don't turn a blind eye, do something FAST,!!!. We are begging u now.
ReplyDeleteNigeria army is now facing what the Nigeria police faced when they 'army' were in power.....nigeria army deficiency is being exposed by boko haram.....d army only exercise their might on innocent citizens
ReplyDeleteWhere is Nigeria going to? Oh Lord hear the prayers of your children. I read a story about. a man that escaped from a boko haram camp in Kaduna. His story will make you cry. His wife was repeatedly carried out along with other women to be raped. He couldn't do anything. Stella, please bring his story here. The wrath of God will fall on boko haram soon.
ReplyDeleteDoes that mean these ogas are eating the security fund provided and tomorrow they will start calling GEJ this GEJ that. Oga Jona abeg intervene o.
ReplyDeleteWe seriously need revolution in this country.enough is a enough
ReplyDeleteWhen I tell Nigerians that your lives mean nothing before their government they think because I'm a doctor I'm arrogant and proud....it's the simple truth Nigerians honour dishonest people in govt because they lack the fear of God and they are greedy and thus they hope to get there someday and do worse.......
ReplyDeleteDoctors went on industrial action you all felt doctors made an oath...I explore you all to actually read that note and understand what it entails.....industrial action has been suspended... But no protective kits and wears has been provided for health personnels to use not only to protect them but majorly to contain the virus and limit the spread yet millions have been donated for such...envy and ignorance won't allow you all to ask the right questions....my oath instructs me to do no harm to my patient and for me in this present situation means I can choose not to attend to a patient if I feel coming in contact with the patient would endanger a lot of other people....
We keep screaming poor security yet the our armed forces are not equipped to even handle a riot let alone a war against people that reason worse than beasts....
Yet support such governance and their ill advised actions....
Your president is currently out of the country spending all your forcefully collected taxes (most Nigerians don't like paying taxes they love free things)on treatment and I official rest........
Right now I only feel pity for most Nigerians who are so ignorant because the joke is on them....and it will get worse if there is no re orientation on the way things are done...well Nigerians are best at managing the badlands watching the good spoil....
Poster abeg tell your husband to get off the force jare....Nigeria and Nigerians are really not worth dying for.....
@orela,it's 'I implore...' not explore...I concur with all you've written.
DeleteYou are arrogant. Who are the ignorant people envying you? Ranting as if BVs' is the govt you are fighting with.
DeleteThis story is as true as believing their is day and night. I use to be a staunch supporter of goodluck jonathan administration cos i saw him as a young vibrant man who was being oppressed but needed to prove to all they are wrong but from what I v seen so far, am so totally disappointed in him. Nothing is working under this administration, not only the military but the other arms of nig forces are so paralysed n all keep mute cos their is no one to support those that v spoken out. I wonder when this will stop, n I advice that any one posted this life threatning area should resign n leave the area. If u die discharging an unappreciated duty, no one will train ur children or help ur family, they will suffer it all alone. Shine ur eyes cos this nation has no regard for anybody.
ReplyDeleteMy heart just broke reading dis
ReplyDeleteMay all d soldiers who lost their lives in d line of duty rest in peace, amen.
And may GoD comfort their wives, children n loved ones.
This is Soo sad!
And I am Soo sorry...
I smell a rat from this post. Seems to me this post is not coming from a soldier's wife rather a BH sponsor in disguised. Its a pity the length this BH can go to create fears in the hearts of Nigerians and people believe easily. God please open the hearts and eyes of your people.
ReplyDeleteIf all of us run out of Nigeria, oga sponsor will you and your family stay alone?????. You need us, yes....
@anon 11:25 may God in His infinite mercy punish u abundantly
DeleteAbeg are you sure you aren't the one smelling...this one that your nose is so sensitive to smell so.....
DeleteBh sponsor or not......NA LIE??
You all will just live in denial and be feigning ignorance....even before BH the security of this nation.was nothing to write home about......say the truth.....equipments in Nigeria are cast offs....your government know the rubbish they pump out that's why they.are all canvassing for bullet proof cars.....they know you all don't think.... Imagine one woman buying 2 bullet proof cars...una no cough.....Abeggi carry one of Stella sits Sitdon
Another sentimental Nigerian, is BH winning d war? Is our military well equiped? Plz stop living in denial n face reality. Am tired of hearing diaris God o, will God com down n fight for us, am ashamed to b a Nigerian
DeleteYou're a fool! Ignoramus per excellence
Deletechaii...GOD save us frm d hands of dese our corrupt leaders ooh..cos is so obvious dat dey dont give a dam abt us ooh
ReplyDeleteMadam don't advise your husband to run away o! If not the nigerian army will hound him down and court martial him! Instead let him resign honourably benefits or not. So Aba boys are collecting money and working on dead armoured tankers? You see why our leaders will continue to deal with us abi? Instead of them to say NO! Go and get authentic, state of the art weapons for our soldiers to fight this evil called BH they are collecting money to supply inferior parts! No problem na all of us dey the naija na, and God dey! Those at the top don't care about the masses, the earlier the masses put aside their differences and unite, the better for them!
ReplyDeleteThis is too sad.
ReplyDeleteThe sad part is some people will still vote PDP after the plenty ruin and sadness under their watch. It doesn't mean it won't happen with another party in power but it clearly tells our politicians that if they don't perform, they go out. No tribalism! This is so sad
ReplyDeleteThis actually brot tears to my eyes...I feel ur pain sis...my uncle has been to more than 5 diff operations abroad and has survived each of dem...to tell u they r still owing him his benefits wld sound like a lie...dey av nothing. ..no ammunition. ..I just pity him each time I visit him...its such a sad story...
ReplyDeleteThese ppl av been complaining abt lack of ammunition for a while now...no one has deemed it fit to say lets protest...lets carry placard until we see pictures n videos of d ammunition being handed to hundreds of soldiers...d average nigerian doesnt care as far as it does nt concern him directly...we fail to realise des ppl r fighting our battles for us...and d reason why we r stl talkn abt BH today is bcos d army is nt armed...
We r just cheating ourselves...bcos d govt doesnt care...
Same thing wt d doctors ...instead of d public to back dem up and help demand der rights...we support d govt...govt dt does nt even use des hosps...d same doctors u r beefin r d ppl u n ur family members run to wen u r sick...and u expect dem to perform wonders...in an ill-equipped hosp....no decent training...no govt investment in healthcare....
We r just selling our birthrights daily...dog eat dog mentality...most doctors r leavn....and d public def suffer...bt dey wl rather join d govt in callin doctors callous...
Until d day we r able to grab our future by d 'balls' and take actions dt wl let d govt knw we cherish our lives ...dey wl cont to sell wateva dey want to us n we av no option dan to 'siddon look'...I hope ppl here r able to voice out der anger...who knws...one of dem peeps might be reading this.
Hehehehehehehe..... I'm waiting for the public to call soldiers callous sef....
DeleteI pity Nigerians then but now I really don't care...let them wallow in their ignorance.... With the way they reason (I doubt if they ever reason)this is just the beginning..... Most of the people you pity are just looking for way to.get into politics so they can steal.....imagine a fool saying" if doctors wants more money they should enter politics that atleast those a politicians".that's how they will still open.their.mouths and say teachers reward is in heaven... And till today teachers in public schools would be sending their children to hawk melon just to make ends meet.
Bunch of jokers
A military coup is coming. Watch-out. I just pray,it doesn't turn turn this country upside down. President goodluck jonadaft, watch ur back and even ur front, dey look side also. Renegade has spoken.

A military coup is coming. Watch-out. I just pray,it doesn't turn turn this country upside down. President goodluck jonadaft, watch ur back and even ur front, dey look side also. Renegade has spoken.
ReplyDeleteOmg! Omg!! Omlg!!!
ReplyDeleteI very much blv u, poster. This heartless n clueless rogues we call our leaders LL nver seize to amaze me mtcheeewww!
The Govt. needs to set up an army trust fund to be managed by credible civilians preferably retired officers...something like the police trust fund of years ago. Furthermore the funds must be audited twice a year by a tested multinational audit firm to avoid the type of corruption that cripplied the police trust fund. Then extrabudgetary approval has to be obtained for the funding and fund raising dinners organised so wealthy nigerians can contribute, this is one way to fund the military needs of the army. If funding is routed through the current military heirachy, it will never get to the fighting soldiers...the top hierachy of the military is full of corrupt and lazy fatcats whose main objective is to use the war to enrich themselves, believing that if things get out of hand, they can use their ill gotten wealth to live well anywhere outside the country. The time to act is now
ReplyDeleteWetin una dey yarn sef?? Nor be wetin dem sign be dat?? Abegee madam go nd sleep joor! Wen oda benefIts wey come wey civilian nor dey get...u dey call us??? Smtcheeeeeew!!!.......................OKIJA WIFE
ReplyDelete@okija fool, your stupidity's much taller than you,how do you manage to contain it all? Smh
DeleteHahahahaha typical Nigerian.... Okija wife you really dey represent.... Every job has its benefits... I'm sure they didn't sign up to use dane guns and worn out bullet proof vests...to secure the land....if you really did read the write up and understood it you will realize the poster was asking for the govt to provide materials to wage the war.....abi you want your soldiers to use cutlass to protect you..or by the time dey all die and govt start forcefully enlisting your teenage sons and daughters into the army you will still sing this song?
DeleteIf you want an officers benefit kindly be enlisted
@CL,my baby haff vexed o!R u missin a certain sumone who left 4 her base @ d wkend?lol
DeleteMiss u 2 ;)
OKIja wife, now I know why people cuss you out! Gosh! What kind of a woman are you? I pity your in-laws and fear for your future in-laws! So because they signed up for it, the govt would not play their part in equipping them right? Siddon there and be spewing this bile from your mouth, when BH captures Nigeria, then you would know how far?!
DeleteMay God have mercy on us(poor masses) and as for the pot belly ogas @the top,God will expose each and every1 of them IJN. Kai soldiers are suffering oh! #so sad#
ReplyDeleteWeeping for my dear country!
ReplyDeleteToo too much sad..we don tire to dey talk..Our leaders are all adamant.I pray they do something fast.
ReplyDeletePathetic! I agree wit every single word she said, GEJ should see dis , its a big shame dat so many re benefiting from dis war. God pls guide ur own.
ReplyDeleteStella as a journalist i am sure you can get any information you want ( If you really want it ) I read some months ago and also heard that big madam, i think her name is something Ogah? of how many billions or is it trillions that the government have given to the military this year alone. What did the Ogas at the top in the military do with all the money? I have said it before and will say it again that the problem in Nigeria is corruption and wickedness. Just yesterday i watched video of a village that the BH have taken over in Borno state and declared it an islamic what ever, all this is happening in Nigeria! What is the military doing about it? Can you imagine BH is about taking over Nigeria? ( God forbid ) What the hell is happening??!! Why are Nigerian leaders not patriotic? The senior officers just pocket all the money, they don't take care of the junior officers yet they want them to go fight for the country ! What is wrong with this black leaders??!! I am just tired !
ReplyDeleteWhere are the good MEN that fought for Nigeria's independence. I'm sure they are weeping and turning in their graves. When I tell people Nigeria don't deserve independence they think I'm been negative. But I tell you this if we were still been ruled by the white men I'm sure things will be in better order. We would have better education, healthcare system, better welfare and hell yes better equipped again BH.
DeleteNa like dis we go dey?naija which way
ReplyDeleteOh Lord have mercy! This country is being run by mediocres. No improvement whatsoever. Gosh!
ReplyDeleteOMG,may God help us all and save us,and we don't even know BH wants, maybe its d handiwork of some top military men for dis war to continue so they will all be Sharing the security votes.there is God oooo
ReplyDeleteThis is disheartening. And some people are canvassing for Jonathan for 2015. Are we going to suffer this for another 4yrs? No light, no security, no good roads. Imagine how they leave these poor soldiers to die like chickens. Even chickens have better burial inside soup pot. Let's be realistic, this govt aint working but most people simply because of their selfish purposes wants Jonathan to go for anoda 4yrs. May God not let this go on further than 2015. Amen.
ReplyDeleteI hardly comment on blogs but this mail is heart wrenching n the army big boys were quick to respond that the soldiers were lying but this is the bitter truth this woman has just said...May God help us in this country..n as for the Army big boys Deris Godooooo!!!
ReplyDeleteThis deris God oooo.is the statement of someone who sees a problem and expects God to come down and correct it...God uses people my dearif every body sings deris God oooo....then nothing will change...we all have to change that mentality.. Manna doesn't fall from heaven again o
DeleteWow! Wow! Wow!
ReplyDeleteThis is so painful. What is going on? Something should be done quickly!
I wish CNN or BBC can publish this or even interview some soldiers , at least the shame will make the army generals procure weapons.
ReplyDeleteAbeg Nigerians no get shame jare....just forget that one....it's still people like you that will jump and say the whites like portraying Africans in a badlight...some people still ignorantly say this write up is to rubbish Nigerian army is it when it's on cnn that they will believe?
DeleteGEJ might actually have a good agenda but the people surrounding him definitely don't.. So why should I vote for someone the 3rd time if after 2 trials he couldn't break off the shackles of his godfathers?
Orela just stop. We've seen your new picture and a looser like you will soon contact you,how much do you collect per night? Nuisance
DeleteWhere are the good MEN that fought for Nigeria's independence. I'm sure they are weeping and turning in their graves. ReplyDeleteorela shut your stupid idiotic mouth.....do you go to the war front? if u have a patient with a contagious disease you wera the right protective clothing.....are u not better paid than the soldiers......how dare u compare them to your selfish association.....go and hang your bloody stethoscope and look for another job nobody cares......stupid bitch....
ReplyDeleteMy dear even Ebola protective clothing no dey available
DeleteOya chop sugar cane for all your troubles... Read my write up well and think. Use that brain.there is alot up there...no one is saying they shouldn't be well equipped
Yes Im always in my own war front o....a patient with Ebola is war for me, a patient with HIV is war for me.(thanks to your stigmatization).a patient with hepatitis is war for me....seeing patients come at the.late hour thanks to ignorance and delays like poverty is war for me because watching them pass on is not a sweet experience...so my dear yes I go to the war front
DeleteWhoever is dissatisfied should resign, you cannot be in the army and refuse to fight or disobey instructions....every organization has its rules and no sentiments....maybe when they begin to see mass resignation then things would change...
ReplyDeleteIts not a funny situation
ReplyDeleteNot so funny
ReplyDeleteNot so funny
ReplyDeletewe need to start a different ice bucket challenge, and donate the money to a credible group or organization to acquire the needed ammunition for the military.
ReplyDeleteStella, can you start a blog on practical suggestions on how to tackle this particular issue ? how do we get these top military officials to account for the money budgeted for the equipments? we can't just sit back and do nothing. Regardless of where one lives around the globe, everybody should be concern about this issue.
480 Nigerian soldiers escaped to cameroun today. The ministry of defense tried to cover their shame by saying it was tactical. Shameless theives. Corruption has killed the army. They cant face BH with the cheap shakabula guns. Sad. Boko Haram is winning. Its a shame.
ReplyDeleteDo you blame them?
DeleteThey have blood running through their veins and have family that love them!
