Body Enhancement Foundation, formerly known as BEARS Foundation, created in 2003, is a non-profit organization that uses surgeries to restore the lives of underprivileged African men, women and children suffering from both congenital and developmental deformities. They also provide preventive care services such as HIV/AIDS testing, counseling, malaria testing/treatment, training, women’s initiative programs and immunization.
Body Enhancement Foundation is the charity arm of Body Enhancement Ltd, the organization that pioneered Plastic Surgery in West Africa in 2001.
They conduct free medical and non-medical missions all over the African Continent; give donations of food, clothing, and toys to underprivileged deformed men, women and children. In addition, they also donate medical supplies to patients in hospitals, hospital facilities, train local surgeons and nurses.
In support of the foundation’s worthy causes, two major brands in Nigeria, Indomie Noodles and Dana Drugs, have partnered with Body Enhancement Foundation to help the underprivileged in society.
The famous Indomie Noodles, a product of Dufil Group, is donating products that will be given to beneficiaries during its humanitarian programs.
In addition, the pharmaceutical/medical division of the DANA Group is also partnering by donating medical and surgical supplies, which the Foundation will donate to patients that can’t afford to purchase them at hospitals.
The Patron of Body Enhancement Foundation is His Emeritus, Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Body Enhancement Foundation’s Board of Trustees are Dr Paul Orhii (DG, NAFDAC), Honorable Kabiru Turaki, SAN (Minister of Special Duties & Inter-governmental Affairs), Edith Jibunoh (Adviser, World Bank, USA), Prince Oluwaseun Ozolua (Business man) and Modupe Ozolua (Founder).
Schedule of their humanitarian activities are available on the foundation’s website: www.b-efoundation.org.
