late kefee and hubby. |
A few days ago, the Nigerian community in Las Vegas, United States issued a statement appealing for the release of the body of the late singer Kefee, who died on June 13,2014 from lung failure after 15 days in a coma at Desert Spring Hospital, Las Vegas.
A statement signed by its president, Festus Ebonka read, “We appeal to Nigerians to help take her remains back home. Lots of protocols here and there to follow. It’s not a simple process. Her husband is devastated and not ready to speak yet.”
Apparently responding to the plea, the Governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan has paid the bills the late singer accumulated during her stay in the hospital and every other bill needed for the return of her corpse to Nigeria.
Meanwhile Kefee’s husband, Don-Momoh in a release signed by his publicist has said he would have to return home to Nigeria first and be on ground to receive the body of his wife.
Teddy said that Kefee’s family had requested that she be buried in her hometown, Okpara-Inland, Ethiope East Local Government, Delta State with a celebratory service in Sapele afterwards.
Those, according to him, are the only definite arrangements for his late wife’s burial so far.culled.

ReplyDeleteRIP Kefee! Buh wait ,i dont understand, why would dey want her buried in her hometown n not her hubby's? Is dat deir tradition there? Poor Man! Be consoled! Rest on Kefee!
ReplyDeleteIt's the tradition to bury a woman in her fathers place. That is why the family doesn't collect much as bride price
DeleteDats d tradition in delta state, dats y our bride price is not expensive and they will even give the hubby small thing from it, as d bride price never get to b fully paid. So every wife gets to b buried in her father's land, they will only pay homage to d hubby's land I.e there will b a brief stop over at d hubby village. XxxbarbieXxx

Of course my uncle agreed after the wife is not planning to die any time soon.

Person wey don die, don die, where you are bury no matter. May the soul of the departed rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteUduaghan has showed maturity!I remember during their campaign where Kefee sang for Ogboru and aided his campaign, but see Uduaghan;over-looked those things and gave his best!I love leaders like him,He has a forgiving spirit! RIP Kefee

ReplyDeleteIn our culture, wen a woman marries a man from anoda tribe wen she dies her body must be brought back to her father's compound... Kefee, may ur gentle soul rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteRIP Kefee, may your soul Rest in Perfect Peace... Well done Gov. Uduaghan. Death is inevitable, it is a price that we will all pay someday, my prayer is that may we not be cut off in our prime. Furthermore, it is good to live a godly life, for "to live is Christ and to die is gain". Thus repent for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand...
