Serial Hot Car Deaths In America Records Another Case...

The death of a 10-month-old girl left in a hot car in Wichita, Kanas - the latest in a string of hot-car child deaths in the United States triggered the quick arrest of the girl's foster father and prompted state officials to launch home inspections of adoptive and foster families.

The foster father told police he picked up with child from a babysitter about 4 p.m. Thursday, drove home and forgot the child was in the back seat, according to Lt. Todd Ojile of the Wichita Police Department.
Investigators say the girl was locked in the car with the windows up for some two-and-a-half hours. Temperatures in the Wichita area reached the low 90s on Thursday.

The foster father was in the process of adopting the girl with his partner, according to police. "Both were extremely upset," Ojile said.
Ojile says the couple's other children have been removed from the home as the investigation continues. The couple are the adoptive parents of two children and are foster parents to four others with ages ranging from 3 to 18 years old, he said.

On Friday, Kansas Department for Children and Families Secretary Phyllis Gilmore ordered immediate home inspections for all adoptive and foster families associated with the agency that approved the couple for foster care.

The 29-year-old foster father, whose name was not released by police, was booked on an aggravated endangerment charge but has not been formally charged. Ojile said the district attorney could file charges as early as next week.

So far in 2014, according to statistics compiled by the Department of Geosciences at San Francisco State University, there have been at least 18 heatstroke deaths of children left in vehicles. In one highly publicized case, a Georgia father remains in jail awaiting trial on murder and child cruelty charges in the death of his toddler son, who was left in the father's SUV for seven hours.

How in heavens name can anyone forget a child in the car?how??????

You come out and check that the doors lock, you see the child, you bring them.
out!!!

I think its a new way of getting rid of unwanted children and they think they can escape the law!!!......wickedness personified.

    2. That is why I hide all the car seats and other baby carrying equipment/device in my car whenever I dash out alone.

So as to avoid stories that touch.

  3. Stella something similar happened in lagos sometime ago. A family had a driver who usually goes with their nanny to drop the child in school on the island. It happened that on thois particular day, d driver could not come to work and the wife begged the husband who works on Lagos island to help drop the kid on his way to work, so the nanny was not needed to accompany him. As usual, kids start sleeping in the cars as u take them to school. This hapnd in this case and the man drove straight to work. He did not remember he had d child in the car as he was not used to doing this. Na so the man entered the underground packing lot in his office and locked the car with the remote. (Most pple lock their cars on the move). Na when madam call am for afternoon or so na when oga remember pikin for car. By the time he rushed down, d baby had already died.

  4. Pure wickedness.... They can't justify their been forgetful except they are mentally unstable and if that's the case then they are not suppose to have access to adoption....... Shak!

  5. Na wah oh. Some parents can be careless, but I don't trust foster parents, most of them do it for the money. The DA should investigate the case very well.
In this hot weather, leave small pickin inside car, even me adult dey sweat like chicken going to slaughter house not to talk of kids. May the child RIP.

  16. I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH ANYONE WHO SAYS IT IS EASY TO FORGET A CHID IN THE CAR....IT CAN NEVER HAPPEN TO ME.

THE MINUTE U STEP OUT OF YOUR CAR,YOU ARE FACING THE CAR AND U WILL SEE THE BACK SEAT WITH THE CHILD IN IT...OR DO PEOPLE STEP OUT OF THEIR CARS MOONWALKING?

FORGETTING YOUR CHILD IN THE CAR FOR HOURS IS PREMIDITATED AND THATS IS MY OPINION.

CHILDREN ARE A NOISY LOT AND EVEN IF THEY SLEEP OFF ON THE WAY,YOU CANNOT MISS THEIR PRESENCE IN THE CAR WHEN YOU STEP OUT,I TRIED THIS AND I CONCLUDED THAT FORGETTING A CHILD IN THE CAR IS WHAT WHOEVER DOES IT WANTS........THIS CANNOT BE PROVEN BUT TRY IT AND SEE FOR YOURSELF THAT U CANT MISS THE CHILD..NOT POSSIBLE ABEG!

you said it all, what the hell ,what the fuck will you be thinking ? How to catch flying elephant or what ?
You will remember your car key, phone and even your house.
If you are the type that forgets, employ someone that don't.I keep thinking of what that baby went through before dying !
SELFISH HUMAN,IF EVERYTHING IS NOT ALL ABOUT YOU BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE YOU COULD HAVE ALWAYS CHECK & DOUBLE CHECK EVEN WHEN ALONE !
      Rest in peace angel.

    2. But at times Stells, people lock their cars whilst moving, especially when in a hurry. You step out, shut and lock d door with back-hand and carryon walking.

      Delete
    3. Unless you for to turn off the car and you leave the key in the ignition, please don't tell me you forgot a child in the car no matter how much of a hurry your in.

Do you forget your bag, phone or documents in the car? How small is the child we are talking about sef? If it's a baby, I expect the child will be in a car seat which can't be missed. And if the child is a preschooler, the child is tall enough to fill more than half of the back seat while laying down flat. So you no see pikin leg or head as you dey commot from the car?

Even when we are home and my child is awake and alone in the room, I get up to go and check if I don't hear any noise or crash sound in 15mins!!
Children are to hyperactive to be that quiet abeg

  17. It myt be a honest mistake,it has happen here. First a former nebo was moving to anoda apartment in d same compond, they accidentally left d car open n their last son went inside d car probably to play n got locked in d car. With d whole movin n all they didn't even remember d boy,it was in d evenin d man asked for d whereabout of d boy n after searchin they found him stretched out n dead in d car. It was horrible n sad. I don't think anybody will delibrately do dat. U can call it carelessness, but definitely not wickedness

  18. Stella it can never happen to u cos u are a woman and u are already used to taking care of your kids. Im ds post and other bv stories it s always d man dt commits d abomination. Reason is cos some men arent use to taking care of there kids or dropping them off to sch. All they knw is from house to office and probably on dt particular day of d incident dere mind is also channeled to d office forgetting that they v to branch somewhere. What makes matter worse is,if d child is sleeping, cos if d baby is awake and playing or making some sounds d dad wl still rem dt he has a child at d back of his car.

engine turned on, and as a gud dad be4 driving off he wanted to make sure everything's awright. He turned to d 3y/o n was like "'re u ok?" n she go "yes dad, re we leaving baby at home?"
Shuo na so d guy tek speed jump komot d car run upstair go pick d sleeping baby
