    Answer to the first one is 6; second one is 79 Very easy!
    in the first one, the number multiplies the immediate lower number, while in the second one all the numbers involved are added and the sum written behind the last of the numbers eg 117 = 7(1+1+7) = 79

    Puzzle 1= 6
    Puzzle 2= 79

    Explanation to the logic(Gmat);

    Puzzle 1= From the numbers 8-5, each one is being multiplied by the number before it to get the desired answer. So in the case of 3, you will apply same logic by multiplying 3 by the number below which is 2 ie 3x2=6

    Puzzle 2= From the numbers 111-115, the last(or third) number is being brought forward, then the next two numbers after each attached to get their desired answer. So, in the case of 117, 7 will be brought out, then the second number after 7 which is 9 will be attached to it ie 117= 79

      The problem given doesn't av d (phantom) numbers u guys added to arrive at your answer. I av a feeling they were skipped to confuse people. Try calculating without adding d phantom numbers, sometimes things are just what they seem to be...
      I may be wrong tho *shrug*
