I don't know why our government are reluctant most times with matters that relates to human health! ReplyDeleteI am on my way to the United States and some of my colleagues are already in UK to get the requisite kits to handle this menace. I must tell you that we are looking at an epidemic. While you may have read that 30 people who had contact with the only known victim are being tested, in reality we are looking at over 3000 contacts.
I specifically asked the ministry of health to activate emergency procedures at the Nations ports of entry but I got the usual " God forbid" and "covered by the blood" response.
Now we are dealing with something we aren't even adequately prepared to handle. Medical facilities do not have the hazard suits and do not know the protocol for handling these cases. Its sad.

And the immigration officers that stamped his passport etc, plus the people that would sit on the chair of the car where he sat be4 he was rushed to the hospital. DeleteThe authorities should trace the flight that he came into the country with and invite everyone in it for testing and quarantine. I'm sure that this is the first line if action instead if waiting for it to become an epidemic
