FG Suspends NFF's N235m Monthly Grant

The Federal Government and the NFF are engaged in a cat and dog fight......the winner will soon emerge!

The Federal Government has in response to FIFA’s suspension of the Nigeria Football Federation refused to release to the NFF its monthly allocation for the month of July. The allocation amounts to almost N235 million.

The amount, we gathered would have covered Nigeria’s participation in the FIFA U-20 Women World Cup, and other engagements being undertaken by the NFF this month.
A top official at the Sport Ministry said the National Sports Commission (NSC) deemed the action
necessary as the Nigerian Government wants to avoid accusations of interference in the administration of football in the country by the world football governing body, FIFA.
The NSC has directed the NFF to source its own funds to take care of its commitments for the month of July.

The government’s action, sources say, has thrown the country’s Under-17 national team’s game against Congo DR this weekend in jeopardy as well as worsen the case of the Nigeria female under-20 team who are getting ready for the World cup as the NFF relies solely on funds from the Nigeria government.

Last week FIFA suspended Nigeria from all football related activities alleging Government interference in the running of football in the country after a Jos High Court sacked the Aminu Maigari-led board of the Nigeria Football Federation.culled

  1. FG couldn't be bothered by the participation and non-participation of any Nigerian team IMO.
They are even saving them money sef since thy won't incur anything for not participating.. Not that the Nigerian teams will do one proud anyways.. I only feel for the girls.

  6. Sorry to goes off topic my people, but this has been worrying me that i need you people to tell me what to do
I have a close friend(girl) i always visit, from visiting, i got close to the younger brother who is a jambite even though he is 3years older than me in my 300levels.
I just sincerely took him as my brother the way i took his sister as my own blood sister
Not until a text entered my phone yesterday to my surprise it was from him and i was wondering what would have made him send me a text cos we never exchange text messages. And a day before that message came in, i was in their house and i saw him counting plenty money in 1000naira notes, so i jokingly said "wow too much money, please i need some for my going back to school" he just smiled.. Innocent me, have even forgotten i ever made such a joke until i opened the text to behold the strange context

"Hw is ur 9t pls I want u to no that i love u somochi pls don't wore arebt money I we gv u money is betweem me and u wen eva I see u my manhood we stand hv ar good day my money is yours"

At first i thought it was a joke cos of the bad spellings cos the dude speaks well. I had to call him to ask what that was for.. He didn't pick, then that same yesterday evening i had to go their house, on getting there, he excused his self only to come back and present a nylon to me, i opened it and it was hot suya..lol.. I ate sha that's the truth.. I prayed wella before eating it though. So, when i was about leaving, i told the sister not to bother about seeing me off, let the brother do that alone... Then while walking me down, i asked him if the text was truly for me, he said yes and he meant everything he has said.. I got furious and wanted to warn him, then i restrained. But the ish has been paining me that i want to tell the sister about it. I mean is it right to do that? Or i just warn him? He has been calling since then and asking me when i intend going back to school and how soon i need the money. Not okay with the meSs please so i want to put an end to end and need a good way to do it without problems arising. Thank you!

  9. At the end of the day it's those kids who have put their hearts and souls into this that I feel for :(. Selfishness all around. Well, as they say, when two elephants fight, the grass suffers.
