Crossing Over To Europe And Chopping 'Aduro'

Africans on the way to Europe via the Mediterranean sea...shocking right?
who will blame them? The places they are running away from is probably worse than
the risks they have to take.

So many Africans have died in the quest to enter Europe through
the back door...Journeys that make
meaning for some who eventually make and others not.

''Aduro'' comes into play for some and we have lots of Africans go
through this process to remain in Europe.

Know anyone who crossed over like this and eventually ate ''Aduro''?

    1. I totally disagree with u Stella for say that Africa is worst than d risk in what they r doing... Life is a choice.. Yes Africa is still developing, there was a time Europe is like Africa and their pple never ran away rather they joins hand together and fight for their problem...if everybody runs away from Africa then who will solve our problem..

    1. "Aduro"( ayoruba word for stay) is widely used in Europe relating to those claiming asylum especially in those tough 80s and Abacha days. You'll see people chew and swallow their passports right in the plane and declare themselves stateless. This Aduro word reminds me of getting to Yankee and hearing words like "ewe"(green card or American P), "Sola Sola"(social security number) etc. Those words always have me in stitches.

It's a pity people go through all that to get into Europe, and on getting to Italy (for those who survive it) find our there is nothing special, you have to work hard to make money,as money don't grow on trees. I believe you can make it anywhere if you are focused and determined.

  24. Yea...I have met some Africans n Asians who claim to have come this way and its really a horrible experience.
Even though some are now over it and are successful red ppt holders especially the Asians. Others look very much unhealthy and mentally unstable after so many years here.
    Not a fair world indeed

    ReplyDelete
  25. But for many of these people, the places they are RUNNING AWAY FROM away from are FAR BETTER than the PLACES THEY ARE RUNNING TO. Imagine people running way from Nigeria to Greece or Italy where their own citizens are even suffering, with no jobs, no good pay...etc. It is because of this unawareness that makes many Africans run to Europe and North America where they get stranded with no JOBS, no accommodation and no good money to take care of their BILLS. What happens next??? They end up doing drugs and cutting corners to make quick money. Many of those who cut corners to make quick money are the ones who come back home to Nigeria (and by extension Africa) and claim to be making working hard and making money in Europe and North America. Those back home will be deceived by these people and end up desiring to run to Europe and America. Imagine a Nigerian who sees it belittling to be a Barber in Nigeria but proudly accepts to be a Barber in Spain? Imagine a Nigerian who will not accept the job of a bartender but will hurriedly accept one in the UK. But the truth is, it is also difficult for a bartender, barber and their likes to pay their bills in the UK or other European countries just like it is for those in Nigeria. Besides, many Barbers in Nigeria even make better money for their upkeep than the ones in Europe.

    2. I wrote a film Europe by Road in Nigeria and i potrayed all what you saw above. Its real and people are still embarking on it. Some made it big and some died on their way.
Aduro is seeking asylum in a foreign country.
On the other hand i want to comment here that its not easy in Nigeria does not mean that nothing good comes out of Nigeria. Some people in Nigeria that are doing well may vow not leave but some who have tried and tried and nothing is qorking out will always prefer to leave, sometimes am not blaming them. Now tell me but God forbid if what is ihappening in the t is happening in the South what will happen,? Again Topdawg your analysis as regards barber, bartender, hairtylist for me its hundred percent wrong and not through. In the US here so many barbers and hairstylist are makingbit big. Sowing of clorh, ibhave seen alot of them established themselves. Our leaders have gotten rid of our dear country, America is like Nigeria if know your way too. More oppoturnitiea though you cant compare the two. Road, Good Education, Healthcare etc. Dont even go there do you how much a barber or hairstylist are paid in America? Well whereever you find yourself stive hard to survive. Ich leben alle. Danke

      Delete
    4. Liar u can be a barber in Europe and still rent a house and have the basics.... Can u do that in naija? Y people prefer to suffer abroad is the little u get can give u the basics... In naija can an average security man take his kids to good schools, eat fairly well, buy good clothes? In London u can..... For some of us who are lucky and educated u can cope in naija but for some who have no such opportunities abroad can help give u leverage at least.... A cab driver abroad can have some basics a cab driver in naija won't have, dats the motivation for some people not because they think money grows on trees abroad....

  35. This happens all the time,I went to a church in paris pastored by a Nigerian a few years back and got friendly with some Nigerian ladies the stories I heard was sgocking about their travials in the desert and on the sea just to make it to Europe.Infact one said it got to a point where they were so starved and had to start drinking their own urine to survive. But what I couldn't deal with is even after her supposed 8yrs in paris she still was claiming to be a sierra leonan on paper and still didn't have her passport.
It was more depressing when she asked me to describe what the airport looked like cause she has never been to one and there are areas in Paris she wouldn't wanna venture to cause of fear of being made out by the police
All she had was her beautifully bleached skin, her perfect french and a tiny room in one of the slums and being an uneducated lady too aint helpful so she works in a salon part time, takes part in church activities and sticks to her african friends but can not think of going back home cause that's gonna be one way outta europe forever and am thinking what a life! Lots of sob stories like that so if you have a good life and can travel back and forth at will you should eternally grateful to God

  38. While I don't recommend this method of travelling abroad a lot of Nigerians have migrated and are making life better for themselves than in naija.... The problem with the naija mentality is that u must be rich overnight.... That is why as a nation we are bedevilled with thieves and all kinds of corruption.. In other countries in the world u must work hard to get to the top so don't see y u come into a country as an immigrant and u expect t to starts sending home millions after two years..... Nigerians stop putting pressure on ur family who live abroad.....A lot of Nigerians are doing well abroad but didn't get there overnight..:.if u have a good job in naija fine but if u also have the opportunity to go as a highly skilled migrant by all means take it, but don't go there and expect an overnight miracle... With time u will see the real value of living in a society where effort is made to give quality to human life....

    ReplyDelete
  39. Aduro is to seek refuge in white mans land. Usually lies and fabrication of stories that touch, like boko haram wiped off ur family cause ur a christian and they are still looking for u. If u go back they will kill u or that ur gay and with the new law in Nigeria u will be jailed, just anything to attract pity from oyibo and they will give you a house or shelter and be giving you food till you get some oyibo girl to marry. Once you born pickin u are saved and automatically you get papers. Very common in Germany, Italy and other European countiries that's why Stella used that slang cause she probably have met a handful out their In Germany.

  40. The risks people are prepared to take for 'greener pastures'!!
    Odi egwu!

For those asking, as far as I know, 'Aduro' means benefits or the welfare system i.e., 'free cash'.

It's all a mirage! It's better to stay back home, work hard, and make something out of your life, than to undertake this kind of suicide mission all in the name of a better life.

Majority of the people who make these journeys end up at the bottom of the sea or die from exposure and dehydration. Out of
the few who make it across, most get caught and held in deportation camps, and eventually get sent straight back home.

Only a minute percentage get away with it, but they end up having to hide from the authorities for years, most times only able to earn peanuts. What sort of life is that?!

    ReplyDelete
  41. When you find yourself in a wasteland, it doesn't matter the direction you just have to keep moving with the hope of a better tomorrow. when i look as this picture all i see is HOPE.. HOPE.. and HOPE..

    ReplyDelete
  42. Know 2 of them like that. One left many years back but got deported almost immediately. He came back and started forming for us like we didn't know what happened. The other one was lucky. He travelled to Italy first, then started scouting for old Italian ladies and used his pimp juice to survive. Omo, those ladies no be here o, very large ladies. He kept sending their pictures to his sister here in Nigeria (maybe so she could see how hard the hustle was). The hustle continued for years until he found a way to migrate to the UK. The Lord had mercy on him and he finally got a white lady to marry in the UK. He's settled now but anytime he comes to Nigeria, the hunniz no dey rest o. He will lie that he's not married and rekindle the old flames with his poor Ex girlfriends who are still single and will be promising them marriage. If you tell some of them that the brother man is married they will nearly pull their bra and use it to strangle you so all the neighbours do is watch o.

    ReplyDelete
  43. See how desperate pple are,too bad. Like I always say, na to stay here make money o,only go for vacations over there. I can't jst imagine going through this route and getting there to still hustle real hard. At the end of the day some will get caught there and will be sent back again

    5. @anon 11; 32,Eziokwu??????nobody exposed me biko instead she hyped me and I quickly put her where she belonged cos I dont suffer fools.i drop one liners cos I ve nothing to say,I ve nothing to hide and should my hubby stumble on my comments on this blog,I wont deny it cos I dont like lying and he also knows am not desperate for marriage he needs me more than I need him and that is d difference between me and a lot of women.
Linda did nothing wrong, its a blog for fucks sake.she is even nice about it cos after I exposed d bitch that was typing rubbish she went underground both online and offline cos had it been she continued I would ve dropped sacrifice for d gods of d night on her behalf .I ve told people that am not a nice person,I dont forgive neither do I forget but those who know me know me.
Linda Eze is a very nice person and these people are just jealous.

  52. The problem I have with sdk bloggers is that u ppl divulge too much information on the blog. forgetting that people know u and will cast from the hints you give. una think say all of us no dey blog? I got scared if this blog when I made a comment about my horrible boss and ppl in my former office started calling me on phone to say they saw what I wrote. THAT WAS D DAY I RESPECTED MYSELF. so I will advice u to be wise and cautious while commenting. take care and forgive hateful comments.

  53. madam, you are beautiful and business smart with a good heart. but I must question your intelligence. intelligence makes you see beyond the ordinary, yes it makes you scrutinize.
now, your husband selling his dad's house doesn't necessarily mean he loves. he might just have tried too hard to convince you that he is IN. So don't use that to convince yourself too much.
Secondly, you should have laid the rules down knowing you are taking him to a new environment and he doesn't know what's about to hit him. it's never too late to do that.
Thirdly, its a 50-50 situation. And until u are sure, you can never really say if he is head over heels into u or not. do not conclude too soon. u have to apply wisdom here. do u have a mum or elder sisters or aunties who can really advice u? please ask for advice to deal with this situation from people around u who are seeing this guy LIVE when we aren't.
Also, the child is not to blame. please let's not include him in this wahala. try as much as possible to give him a better life than his father can afford. he already calls u mum. nevertheless, seek to having your own kids when its more convenient for u, so incase u have any issues in future with the child u won't be so sore.
above all I pray God gives u strength. I have a brother who is this lazy and I can understand what you are going through. its not easy. cos me as a sister I am already over burdened. not to talk of if he was my husband.
Also, don't feel too sore to walk away at any other indications that things wont get better. Its never too late to start again.
If you need to contact me via e-mail, feel free to indicate and I will post my email add. You are really young and I feel so unhappy that this is happening to u.
Might I also add, you need to check if its a mental or psychological problem for him to feel the need not to do anything, not to be corrected, get violent after being told the truth and shuts-in once his f**k up is treated with beating. If he isn't interested in sex and doesn't womanize but often does things like someone who still has a good heart, then These are symptoms of a similar situation I have. You have to act fast.
