  1. June 12, abiola day, I remember that day like it was yesterday, when we had to flee to our home town in my state thinking there was going to be civil war, and we needed to be in our state when the war starts and we met so many road blocks and check point mounted by the army then. How time flies

Smh. Here goes the "tribal" card. What is this issue with yoruba Vs igbo, hausa Vs yoruba or vice versa. Here's the problem with this country, we hate each other. That's why national peace might just be a dream that will never come true. We hate ourselves so much and we pretend so bad. Even among the yorubas, igbos, hausas, there's still animosity. Osun Vs ogun Efik Vs ibibio etc. The only time we forget our tribe issues is when we want to gang up against another religion aside our own. Its sickening really. Mbok, o ti sun mi. Hian!

    5. @Galore, o kare. Oku lakaiye. Abiola betrayed Awolowo and it was the same circle of people he connived wit against his fellow yorubaman also betrayed him. The same Bible he read from Genesis to Revelation while in Prison. Hmmm! Omase oo. May his soul continue to rest in peace. And for June 12 1993, I will always remember. A day I was on the queue for my mom for almost 5hours before she casted her vote. God will see us through in this country.

    11. Got dis and had to share........OMAR BANGURA from Sierra Leone has this to tell Nigerians; "I don't think you guys know what you are playing with. You can call each other names and laugh about it now but when you end up inciting hate here as I read through your posts here and a real civil war start in your country you will regret what you are doing now. Your religious and political leaders are trying to divide you between religious lines and you are helping them do that rather than standing up and say we are all nigerians never mind our tribe, region or religion. That's the only stand that will save your blessed nation. The foreign powers pushing the government to take certain decisions will abandon you when you start killing each other and reject you from running to their countries so be careful. Our 11 years war in Sierra Leone was not even based on religious or tribal difference and see what we did to our country. The worst conflicts are those based on tribal and religious differences. See Central Africa, Bosnia. My heart bleeds when I read what you guys are saying bcos I know what this will lead to. You will be the losers all of you whether Christian, Muslim, ibo, yoruba or hausa. Stand as one and save your nation together bcos you have only one Nigeria that has the potential to lead Africa. PLEASE HELP SAVE NIGERIA AND SHARE THIS TO AT LEAST TEN PEOPLE

    12. @galore, your likes are a curse to your generation. if you really are a Yoruba then you are a bastard! I'm very sure you are very young when MKO was alive and all you heard about him were gists passed on to you by others. From my own personal experience, MKO single handedly gave the highest donation to our church building project in Ilorin and he wasn't even a member. That gist about bibles was given by his detractors to paint him in a bad light. If you believe it then you can believe anything. Your likes don't confirm a rumor but you are quick to run your mouth on beer parlor gist. Don't be ignorant, Google is your friend, please Google MKO and Adeboye, Okogie, Oyedepo and find out for yourself. MKO was not a saint but he was one of the few lights we had in a dark time in Nigeria's history. Sometimes I wonder how many youths he would have employed in his chain of indigenous companies if he were still around today. MKO was the biggest indigenous investor in the Nigerian economy, the biggest contributor to sports, the most liberal philanthropist we have ever had till date. the list goes on and on....

Quote me on this MKO Abiola was the BIGGEST donor to the Christian faith compared to your Christian billionaires. I attend St Leo's Catholic Church and i know how much Abiola donated to my own parish. Which was very near his house. Go and ask Arch Bishop Olubunmi Okogie and Most christian leaders. So please never say what you dont know and stop defamation of character. Keep your RIP to your self.

    3. Madam Elizabeth and Sisi Chenille, Sir Abiola did sank a ship of Bible and later regretted it. Did U also know that the ITT ( International Telephone & Telegraph) money (5 Billion dollars- calculate that in Naira if U can. Lolll) which was meant for the betterment of some West African countries was syphoned by this same Abiola. A deal which involved Samuel Doe of Liberia, Obasanjo, Babangida and d rest. Let me also remind U of one of fela's songs"....(I)nternational (T)hief (T)hief. Which was about the ITT project. An action which led to cold war between him and Gen. Babangida. He started giving the money (our money. Lolll) to religious institutions, schools, groups etc just to redeemed his name. But 'Maradona' (Babangida) like he is rightly called, played along and burnt Abiola with June 12. My dear, google is ur friend. I don't have anything against him but, history will always remember him( for good and bad). Don't mind my gbagauns, ko easy. LMAOOOO

  30. @Galore the truth and history about June 12 is that of power play. Abiola had money but wanted power. He ran to his Good friend Babangida who promised him of the Military intention to vacate power therefore he is free to run but Babangida NEVER truly liked the south and they wanted power to remain in the North with Tofa, the then Northern candidate of the NRC party. As the elections were about to be declared by then NEC umpire, Professor Nwosu, Babangida who already had plan B Instructed his group of Association of better Nigeria fronted by Artur Nzeribe and Abimbola Davis to head to the court and declare the elections null and void. But Abiola was the peoples choice and his people could not stand with him rather they pushed him to his death. There was crisis which later snowed balled into the emergence of Olusequn Obasanjo as president of Nigeria.

    18 NASSARAWA 56,910,618,770.46 35th

A total of over N1,480,000,000,000.00 was the Federal allocation to the North in 2013. What impact did this amount have on the people of the north?

Look at state applications to JAMB for university entrance ( APPLICATIONS not ADMISSIONS):

    TOP 5
    1. Imo --101,350
    2. Anambra--72,800
    3. Delta --71,198
    4. Edo--60,839
    5. Ogun --52,674

    BOTTOM 5
    32. Taraba--5,599
    33. Sokoto--4,928
    34. Jigawa--3,990
    35. Zamfara--3,827
    36. Yobe--2,938

So with this numbers, how can the north ever catchup even they they own most of the oil wells, and they claim to be more populated. I want to see the north building schools by community effort the way it is done in the south.
"We have for a long time lived in illusion of the South was against us. I have continued to feel without any justification about this. Our political elders have deceived us into believing that absolute nonsense.
It is time we take over our destiny in our hands. One trillion Naira is such a huge sum of money.
'My visit to Jigawa have shown that good leaders can be change agents. We wallow in the disbelief that we will be killed if we challenge them. See what is happening in Gombe in 3 years. Kano has experienced some changes in the last 3 years.

I grew up to meet an Igbo man who was a small trader in our hamlet. He built a house where his family lives, yet we were richer than him, but he lives in a better house to the envy of all of us. I met his children in university, even though I had a scholarship. Why can't we emulate him instead of cast aspersion on his person & tribe as too noisy. This family have since left for the east. Is this how to grow a people? Our elders are cheating us.

  32. Dora Akunyili was POISONED12 June 2014 at 13:50

Just as those evil creatures poisoned MKO, they also murdered Dora Akunyili.

Remember Dora Akunyili's "mysterious" illness / "wrong diagnose" and sudden death at the young age of 59? Dora Akunyili was murdered (by poison) by the Hausa / Fulani oligarchy for her audacity. Remember Dora Akunyili made an audacious speech which was televised? I'm talking about the speech she made after Yar'adua's semi dead body was brought back from Saudi Arabia. That was the speech that angered the "Northern mafia" and sealed Dora Akunyili's fate. Search for the video on YouTube. Northern mafia took offence that her speech exposed their scam and sent them out of Aso Rock (the born to rule gravy train). She was murdered through a lethal hard-to-detect poison, which over a short period, gradually destroyed her vital organs. For the sake of "unity of the country," the powers that be fed deliberate false information to the Nigerian people and the international community. Dora Akunyili's family knows the TRUTH that she was deliberately POISONED by the Fulani / Hausa oligarchy (mafia) of Northern Nigeria. They murdered Dora Akunyili to spite Goodluck Johnathan. Northern leaders & Northern politicians are too treacherous and should never be trusted.

Dora Akunyili, rest in peace. Your killers and their children will face the wrath of the Almighty God.

Why if he did all that did Nigerians vote for him? Everyone is tupid but you are smart? Why if he stole 5 billion did IBB or Abacha not bring out all the documents so people would have stopped clamouring for his release? Because there are no documents. Fela was pissed at his friend, Abiola. If he was so bad why were they friends and why Fela sign to his record label? How did Abiola betray Awo? Because he didn't worship Awo like most Yorubas? That's those of us from the East voted for Abiola. He was detribalized and objective. No offence against Awo because I won't insult men who have achieved more than me but he didn't do well during the Civil War. What did Fela, Awo, IBB or who else do for the common man? Who gave like Abiola? You??? Use your brain before you come here and write rubbish about a greater person than you or you will get your own karma for bearing false witness.

So those fanning the ember of war should be prepared to lose loved ones;have their limbs chopped off, get captured by rebels & used as child soldiers or sex slaves; go hungry & feed on rats, lizards & vegetables for months on end & so on.
No country can survive two civil wars!
Fela said it all in his music-
    I no wan die
    Baba dey for house
    Mama dey for house
    I wan build house
    I wan enjoy
    I no wan quench
In the face of adversity, we all freaked out & say a loud yes sir to our oppressors & today history is repeating itself.
In the face of hardship, misrule,
Unprecedented corruption & crazy demonstration we are suffering & smiling.
The South African paid for freedom with sweat, tears & blood & today they' re better for it;while we are here paying through our noses for electricity & services we never enjoyed.
We know our enemies, but we are too blind by hatred to see that it is not about being a Muslim or Christian , Yoruba; ibo & Hausa that is our problem.
What will become of us if Nigeria should split? In a country where Umuleris & aguleris don't see eye to eye, likewise the Ifes & Modakekes?
We all are guilty & as long as we remain silent ,we might not get to the promise land.

  44. I remember MKO singing his school anthem ( Baptist Boys, Abeokuta) on Charlie Boy's show & he said he owed everything he became to the Christian missions who provided him with primary & secondary educations .I wept.
Though a Muslim, some of MKO's siblings, children & wives are Christians. We Yorubas believe blood is ticker than water, irrespective of the circumstances.
I stand corrected if any single individual has ever donated more to Christian missions than this man did.

The story of Abiola sinking a ship load of bibles was meant to destroy the man's reputation.
Until theBible Society of Nigeria comes out and says there ever was such situation, I thinks discerning Minds would never believe such stories.

What was Nigeria' s total budget in the 70s? Let alone 5 billion for telecommunication alone?
It's amazing how some kids believe google can actually provide God's home address in heaven?

  47. The problem between Fela & Abiola was a record deal gone sour.
Fela was signed unto Decca Records (owned by Abiola & Ebenezer Obey)& there was a disagreement over royalties& Fela sacked Decca office, occupied it with his harem & boys for some weeks.
On the last day Fela invited Agbepo ( sewer Evacuators) & sprayed the whole building with feaces.
