I just lost a relative, he drowned in the sea while trying to get into Italy from Libya. I really don't know how it happened but we got a call and there was a confirmation.
Now I lost a relative and I haven't shed a tear neither am I feeling sad.
I was 7 and this relative would have molested me but thank God for Nepa. I was in the room, my siblings and cousinsf also. We were all watching TV together when Nepa "took the light", unfortunately for me I was sitting close to him and he put his finger in my vagina but when he was about to start doing anything serious Nepa restored power.
I dreaded staying with him from that day and I couldn't tell my mum or anyone, I was a kid and what did I know then?
2 years ago, I was talking with another relative and she told me how she hated this relative of ours because of what he did to his half sisters who happen to be twins. He had sex with both of them!
They weren't kids, they were in their late teens and this happened not just once or twice but countless times. It wasn't rape. I was shocked! They were actually caught by their father who had to throw the guy out of the house.
Now this guy is dead, and both of the sisters are in their 30s, nobody made any effort to do some spiritual cleansing for the 3 of them while the guy involved was alive.
It saddens my heart to know that nothing can be done for these girls. Or maybe now that he's dead whatever curse that resulted from the act will be nullified? I need answers''

Molestation happens everyday in Nigeria, it has to be properly dealt with. Most children would rather keep it to themselves due to parents getting mad at them instead of the molestor. These people should die by hanging. I remember staying with an aunt when I was in high sch cos my house was far from my school. Her son who was serving as a cooper came home and tried to molest me, I told my aunt but she said I was lying, she became hostile towards me until I left her house. The funny part is that she knew wot her son was doing to girls but ignored it, I couldn't tell my mum cos I feared being called a lair again but I told her I was being maltreated so my mum removed me n put me in the boarding house.

I think Nigeria as a whole needs proper education on this topic. I've read countless narrative of these same acts by different people for this to be an isolated incidence or geographic. Kids, tell your parents and Parents listen to your kids. Complaints like these should not be dismissed as kids grow up being mentally afflicted by the experience. Some older ones place these horrific experience in their subconscious and move on thinking it has no effect, but it does. It may inhibit how you feel about the opposite sex, it may inhibit your perception of yourself, it may rear itself in sexual escapades whereby you feel insecure about your own body or not being able to have sex with lights on, only in dark rooms. Our brain copes and handles events that we are marred by, in different ways. Your actions now, might be as a result of the effect of being molested. I suggest you see a shrink, its not a bad thing, its to help you move on with security in knowing your conversation will never ever leave the pair of you, solely based on professional ethics. Parents, those one time incidence carry life long scars. Please ask your kids questions, use a doll if needed to indicate no-go areas of their body and if anyone has come close to the no-go areas. Ask your kid about their teacher-student experience, ask about uncles, maid servants, aunties. Ask questions and if the kid is confused, don't make them feel as though they are liars, because they will never feel confident telling you anything ever again. It hurts me to read countless stories like these. Africa needs education and punishment for perpetrators of these acts.
