DeleteRip...... Omase o.. God knos best.
ReplyDeleteIs this Confirmed? God forbid I wish someone Alive "RIP"
ReplyDeleteMy sentiments exactly.... But then, let's look at this situation critically. Why India? I personally know of no less than 7 people who went to India for treatment on the recommendation of their family doctors here in Nigeria, who either didn't come back alive or passed on few weeks after arrival even when their operation was termed "successful" I have asked around, and people seem to have observed same. Makes me wonder if there are kick backs to the doctors recommending this place or there's just something really weird going on. Please has anyone else observed same?
DeleteLet's just hope this is a rumour like the previous one.
But this artist/DJ what's his name again? went to thesame india, did his surgery, came out sucessfully and he is still alive till date.
DeleteI believe it all boil down to the situation of the ailment, was it at its early stage or not. #myopinion.
Rest In Peace Aunty Dora Akunyili.. You saved lots of lives. My heart is heavy! Sighs.
There is no problem with the Indian hospitals at all. It's just that most of the cases referred to India are cases that the Nigerian doctors cannot handle anymore or cases that the Nigerian doctors themselves has compounded and are desperate to dump on someone else. Dora's case is no different, why did the family wait till she was almost dead before taking her to India? Moreso, when the family can easily afford to take her to Germany or the US for treatment.

Oh , the amazon of beauty is gone! The Iroko that feared no other tree has fallen! The pride of every self-willed woman has succumbed! The dogged fighter has gone to sleep! The brilliant brain that produced many geniuses has lapsed! The selfless woman who does not fear to tell the truth in the midst of confusion and deceit has abandoned us! The only incorruptible politician in Nigeria has gone to rest with God!
ReplyDeleteOh Nigeria, how are thou going to fair without Dora? Who will help you fight for freedom from corruption ?
Who will mend your dented image?
To Dora's family, rejoice, for this fallen heroine's achievements will live in our hearts and that of our future generation.
Wipe your tears, let Nigeria do the weeping on your behalf.
Dora, we love you, but God loves you more.
We need you, but God needs you more.
May your soul rest in peace!
Rose
Nice piece on the great Amazon. but the is one gbagaun in the 2nd verse of your ode. It should rather read "Oh Nigeria, how are thou going to fare and not "Oh Nigeria how are you not going to fair"

ReplyDeleteRest in peace my big Aunty. May God grant you eternal rest. This is the third known Nigeria that died in India. I still don't understand why people goes to that country for treatment. India is a third world country for crying out loud.
ReplyDeleteSOV Gott Dora
God bless you! Many people are going there for cancer treatments and all sorts. If they don't die there, the treatment is said to be successful then they go home and die. There are Indians every where in the UK some claim to be professionals in medicine and dentistry yet they know nothing! RIP Dora! You are in a better place!!
DeleteShut your bloody ignorant mouth.... Do u have statistics of those who have gone to India and are doing well? So cos a few have died u sit here and make noise..... Do u know what stage some of them decide to go to India? Your country has nothing to offer and cos Ngozi went to uk and lived does not mean people don't go there too and die..... India has offered help and still offering to a lot of people..... U are not in the medical proffession and u don't have any statistics so pls shut up
DeleteIf you've been to Indian an hospital for treatment you won't say that. I've been there and I saw many foreigners from the Western world also going there for treatment too. Instead of beefing the Indians, worry about the sorry state of your Nigerian hospitals and try to upgrade. Rest in peace great Dora Akunyili of Nigeria. You're dead yet your legacy lives on - Fiery Ray

Unfortunately, it is when some sick people are knocking at death's door that they run to India..for every 1 person that died in or after treatment in India, many many others have had success stories...Drs treat, God cures. If your time is up, nothing, and I mean NOTHING can save you"

Is it for Chartered Jet Probe, Outrageously priced Bullet Proof Cars or for Diaris God ooo.Mrs Okonjo Iweala, Mrs Ezekwesili and some others are busy writing their names in Gold. The measure of a man is not how he died but how he lived. It is not what he gained but what he gave.
ReplyDeleteDora Akinyuli lived a good life and gave change to Nigeria. We have lost a rare gem!
An amazon has departed from this cruel world but she's in a better place now. Prof Dora, your legacy lives on. I pray God grants her family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
ReplyDeleteAlthough some Indian hospitals do some unclear things, let's not blame the hospital for her demise. We do not know much about her illness. How long did she suffer from it? Was it the same illness that brought her sincererity to the attention of the then president? We do not know. She may have gone there for palliative care. When death calls,it hangs around something.
ReplyDeleteShe achieved what many could not achiieve at her young age.
Sleep in peace dear Dora

ReplyDeleteA remarkable life ! Adieu Aunty Dora
ReplyDeleteRip hero.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 5:28, thank you for the correction. I was overwhelmed with emotions when I was typing. The mistake you pointed out is not the only mistake I made. I also used present tenses inappropriately.
ReplyDeleteHowever, you also made some mistakes on the few words you typed
1. You started a new sentence with a but, and b in a small letter.
2. Instead of 'there is one' you wrote 'the one'
This is just to let you know that we see other people's errors more than ours.
This is about someone's death, many people are in pain right now. Please, pardon our mistakes today. Rose
My heart goes to her immediate family. Please, take her, she has gone to rest.May the Balm in Gilead heal ur hearts.May the Holy Spirit comfort u at this trying period n beyond.I never met her, but I always admired her.RIP lovely woman.
