My son Daniel was born a year ago as an extreme Premature on June 13, 2013. He was delivered via CS at 25 weeks gestational age;about 5 months into my pregnancy due to health reasons.
He weighed 1Pound 6 Ounces, (0.72kg )at birth. Doctors told us that Daniel had 20% chance of survival.
He spent June 13, 2013 - October 4th, 2013 at the Neonatal Intensive Care unit under serious conditions. He was on ventilator to breathe for him and feeding tubes to feed him.
We have been through a lot but GOD ALMIGHTY, has been merciful, kind and faithful to us. HE wrapped his hands around us and carried us through the storm.
Daniel is 1 today and he is 20lbs, (10kg). He is super healthy, happy and blessed
Please thank God with us at this great milestone in Daniel's life.

I don't even start showing @ 25 wks.And I have been post term with my 2kids. So my heart bleeds whenever I see women with preterm babies. Funny thing though, many times, preterm babies turn out alot better than full term babies.
And look how yummy he turned out. With a lovely name too !!!
I can only imagine how emotionally draining such an experience must have been. Shows that the HAND OF GOD is upon him and may his face forever shine on you and your family. Amen

ReplyDeleteMy son Daniel turned 3 months on wednesday. He was very tiny at birth. He was also born via C section and the doctors told me he will not survive bescause he was under very serious distress. I bless the name of the Lord because Daniel is strong and healthy today.

ReplyDeleteI began dating this guy like 5 months ago and he would always tell me how big he was and all. I was practically salivating but decided to wait before having sex with him as a good christian girl.
You could imagine my shock on Sunday when this guy came and i decided to do the DO with him. I put my hand under the duvet looking for the biggie and I touched one tiny thing. I held it and my fingers still completely curved into my palm when i closed my hand. Like i was holding a pencil. I was so annoyed! I just withdrew my hand immediately. It was just like cold water was poured on me. He asked me what i thought of it and i just blurted 'its feels so smooth'. I wasn't gonna lie and say it was big naa when it was like the width of 2 mac lipsticks together and the length was like one full length of a mac lipstick plus half. Just gave him a kiss and went to bed.
I'm not saying all guys need to be huge, but why do guys need to lie when they know we will still see the thing? Or is their idea of size different from ours? Isn't it better to say the truth and know we love you like that than watch a girl's face fall when she sees the 'earth worm'?
The way this guy was going on and on, I was even scared that he would tear me apart cos Ive only had sex with 2 guys and my stuff quite tight. I'm gutted!!

My dear I don't doubt your story but all I am saying is that whoever told you the story exaggerated. Any baby under 24 weeks can not survive ad they are not fully formed. Then to say without equipment as I assume that it was at home . Hmmm you were at least 27 weeks. Use the Internet to look at a 20 weeks old pregnancy

Im using him as a point of contact for my own David born 6 months ago critically ill and he spent the 1st 3 weeks of his life hospitalised. He's been back home ever since but it looks like he's not balanced. I pray this day that the God who did this for you Stella will do mine also and I will have every cause to come out and celebrate a healthy, fit, balanced and normal child when my David turns 1 too
