Who Is Fooling Who? #BringBackOurGirls

This writeup is currently viral on BBM,email, instagram etc

LET'S THINK ABOUT THESE QUESTIONS

We have been pondering over this kidnap situation and something doesn't add up hence
these questions. The students are said to be SSS3 students taking physics examination.
QUESTIONS:

1. Why are their names not yet published by the school, state government or WAEC?

2. Why are their pictures not over the media?

3. How come all 235 students are in SSS3 and all came to take Physics examination when the total number of students in the school is around 1200?

4. It was announced that the Borno state government gave N1m each to parents of the missing girls. If this is true,
(a) Why was this money given to their parents?
(B-) Was it as compensation for the kidnap or compensation for their deaths?

5. On Tuesday 29th April 2014, a senator from Borno said in the Senate that the girls had been taken out of the country to Chad, Niger and Cameroon and married off to their adoptors.
(a) How come this senator knows so much?
(B-) Who are their informants?

6. Why is the wife of the state governor organizing women to pressure FG in Abuja after the National Security Council has ordered the armed forces to use all state resources to secure the release of the adopted Girls?

7. I just wonder how 200+ girls can be kidnapped at once. How come we haven't seen those girls who they said have escaped on TV?

8. If the SS3 students are not up to 120 in a school of 1200, how is it possible 234 girls are missing?

9. Where are the school authorities?

10. Why haven't we seen any of them on TV?

We are not fools. WHO IS FOOLING WHO? I need objective answers please. Its time all Nigerians start asking questions than drawing conclusions.

    1. Gej should arrest the principal of the school he'll get the true story. Tell weac to give him the name of the girls that sat for the exams and their pictures. Out of 276 girls only 12 parents came out before someone in govt mentioned it n next rally we saw them aplenty. Let the northners continue. They wont see out oil money, they are killing the northern states so thats their headache. Idiots #divideNigeria

    2. I'm currently organising a #bringbackourgirls rally in Nairobi, watch this space for the venue & date. The Nigerian goverment is so incompetent & the people so docile & meek they cant challenge the so called goverment. Kidnapped or not, something is obviously wrong somewhere.

Let's not allow sentiments becloud our reasoning. Where are d girls that escaped? They shld be able to get them on TV to say something atleast, so we can know d way forward, but above all this questions I will still say #BringBackourgirls.

  3. First answer the girls were taking from different schools and how did d composer knoe they are only a 1200 in the school I kmow some questions haven't been answered but I refuse to believe this is a hoax. Also we know in Nigeria many ppl go to villages to write WAEC exams like resits or and all.

    1. Which diff school?they were taken from one sch jor. The school said they don't have the girls's info coz the school was destroyed and burnt down buh what about WAEC? Don't they have a database?what about the parents? Don't they have pictures??
Girls were abducted quite alright buh the numbers were seriously inflated. Noww some are being married off to chad and cameroun?..this is so that when the few girls dat were kidnapped are retrieved, they will say the rest were married off!
Giving misleading information will not help get these girls out.
Am tired of praying for faceless people..show pics of the girls, show us their parents.
Most of these protests are being done by women who wanna lend their voices and NOT the mothers of the missing girls!
Even the malysian plane ish, we saw their families in their numbers and hrd their stories. The korea ferry, we saw grieving parents dat sameday in multitudes. So why ar their identities being hidden??? To avoid stigmatization and for safety borno govt are saying....buh which safety wen they are still missing?who is talking abt stigma?
Anyways, still praying for them missing girls(no matter how many they are) and lending my voice to say #BringBackOurGirls

Doesn't their school have @ least one security guard?
    234 is nigeria's dialing code.....is it a coincidence?
How come no parent carried their childs picture during the protest?
234 humans no be 234 goats..goats sef dey bleat..how come no noise was heard?
In the northern part of nigeria .one school has 234 candidates and to compound matters they are girls?
How come the number of girls involved has risen.......? Who is fooling who?

  7. Stella am disappointed with your questions. If you follow the news,it was said that some students were relocated from and to the school, secondly, not all the students were writing exams on the said day.others were in the hostel. The first few students that were kidnapped said the ,en came disguised as army officials and claimed that boko haram wer planning to attack the school, hence the order to relocate them. Am sure if anyone in that zone is to
d that you will comply. I also remember reading that while some of the girls escaped as a result of the breakdown of one of the vehicles, the militants refused to shoot at them. If you have their pictures, at least one was released yesterday, will it make d governmeny act faster? We must remember that what is causing a serious confusion in Abuja after just two bomb blast is what the north east goes thru almost daily. You will not expext them to respond in the same way.I served in the north and know how populated these schools can be espexially during exams. The thing here is the children and their parents hoped against all odds that they will at least write their exams. It is possible that that area had not experienced any attack before. If the government gave any monies to the parents, that must be investigated, but then again both the state and federal government have failed in their duties to provide security of life and sanity. we must know that this politicians are ready to play bloody politics so long as its not their blood being shed.As stupod as the giving of monies to parents sound,it is not far from the stupidity of the federal government setting up committes (both president and first lady) only after so much outcry. It goes to show how citizens are just pawns in their game.Open ur eyes, tge numbers may not tally, but girls have been kidnapped, just like boys, men and women are being killed everyday not just from boko haram, insecurity everywhere and failure of government to protect its citizens.

Stella, u talk as if you don't know the stigma that goes with things like dis in Nigeria. One of the fathers released his 16 year old dauta's picture yesterday. How has dat helped d govt so far? D man even spoke on radio about d incident. Do u tink dis is d first time they r kidnapping girls in the north? Madam stella, u r a mother too. I don't expect u to be insensitive to dis issue. Leave Kema Chikwe questions cos she is a shameless politician who is willing to do anything to remain relevant in politics.as for the issue of,N1million, d father dat spoke on radio said they weren't given any money. So until that is proven, dat is just another rumour.

  9. These questions and many more needs answers. And when Kema intelligently asked, tHey picked offense over her courage to state the obvs. But credibility of this story is highly questionable since reports on it varies. Neither the media, government nor the sch hv provided us with reliable information on the said ish. Some people say it like they were there and they are giving 1st hand information. As much as its easy to blame mr president on this, I also want to say that we nigerians are not sincere and straight with this ish. Its unfortunate that the value placed on politics outstands that of human lives! May God help this country as he alone can rescue and restore. Happy sunday and God bless you all!

Do all the students write physics?meaning they have only science class in that sch? Most girls go to art or commercial thats where you find the majority of girls in a school. I checked the rally pictures and stella those women dont looked grieved, to me. How come the parents found out the sambisa forest first?to make it look like Gej doesnt want to rescue their girls. When kema chikwe talked y'all rained insults on her. Boko cant just go to a school n pack 234 girls Stella its not possible. This is staged by the hausa elites to frustrate Gej. 23. These are just silly questions being asked by a mischievous mind:

Boko Haram are not ghosts, they have relations who oppose what they are doing, they go to market to buy things, they exist in areas where there are already people living so why wont people know who they are and know their movements, in Afghanistan villages everybody knows who is taliban so why wont people in those villages know who Boko Haram members. It is our security services that dont know how to utilise these human intelligence assets.

How do you expect them to start releasing names and pictures of the girls, at the back of everybodys mind is the fact that these girls would have been raped. No family wants the stigma of rape to be associated with them. I am sure the security agencies have the names but it should not be for public consumption.

CNN has shown pictures of three of the girls who escaped from Boko Haram when they met with government officials, i dont know why our local media didnt have access to those clips.

The school was burnt and all records destroyed. Yes this is a Government school but remember it is a school in a local area in Nigeria; where record keeping is inefficient. There are many govt schools that cannot accurately tell you how many students they have in a class without looking at their records.

As per the compensation, has anybody asked whether the families actualy received that money. I just look at it as an opportunity for someone to wack money from the security vote of the state.

Yes these girls were kidnapped, yes it took the government 2 weeks before they started talking about it after there were protests and rallies; when they saw the situation was not going to quietly fade away.

The question we should be asking is that the $20 million dollars (over 3 billion naira)that America gave us as a grant to battle inecurity in 2012 what was it used for, what equipment did it buy. Our troops are always arriving hours after boko haram have attacked these villages, that is why they are always in hot pursuit.

America has given other countries much more in grants but i guess they looked at the level of corruption in Nigeria and gave the minimum.

Next time they should give us the grant in military hardware instead of cash because we all know where the cash will end up.

U r asking for pictures and names, have u forgotten d stigma that goes with things like dis. Am not in support of releasing their pictures cos dat will do more harm to the girls safety? Did it occur to u that these devils might kill d ones that their pics were released just to cover their tracks? How will releasing their pictures aid the investigation when all we do is send broadcast on BBM and facebook on bring back our girls, bloggers like u will just publish the story and then we all go about our normal business. Whoever that came up with these questions obviously did not do a thorough research on dis issue but rather bringing in politics into it as is always the case in Nigeria.

  29. I second these questions. My thoughts exactly. Found out from a reliable source that only eight(8) parents complained about their missing daughters, only for the principal of the school to influence the news story the next day! What was behind that?

Secondly, two buses came to pick the girls, inwhich,if jampacked like sardine, would only take 60girls; how come when one of the buses broke down, fifty escaped and only three were rescued;remember, only eight parents showed up!

Thirdly, why haven't they released the names and photographs of these so-called two hundred+ abducted girls? Don't u smell it? It's fresh!

They had promised GEJ that they'd make his governance ungovernable for him, and that's exactly what they are doing! My only question to GEJ amidst all of these is; ' Sir, why don't you expose those responsible for these mayhem and subject them to firing squad because you sure know who they are!'... PEACE IS PRICELESS...TERROR IS SENSELESS...LET'S GIVE PEACE A CHANCE. Annie sayz so!

  30. Seriously speaking I've tot abt how they used buses to move 234 girls, how many buses did they use,did they drive in convoy or drive one bus at a time?
But d part I don't support in d issues raised is bringing out pics n names, dat i won't advice, for their tomorrow, cos ppl won't look at dem d same way,if n wen they're released, as for ppl asking if every girl takes physics; come on guys, dats jst a very stupid question, so was it in physics class they carried dem? Does art students go home wen science papers r to be written? Pls abeg it's best to keep quiet concerning certain issues,so u don't hurt d affected if there are any....
BTW d princi was on TV yesterday n he said he had told security operatives to move d girls to a safer place but nobody listened to him.
I hope they return home safely

  31. As far as I am concerned this #Bringbackourgirls" thingy is annoying me... Yess it is. I don't want to be seen as insensitive, I have a daughter too and God knows if my daughter was among the 234 or 273 girls abducted. I will go all out to that bush to search for my daughter no matter what it takes. Rather than hashtag #bringbackourgirls# on ur bbm dp, twitter, facebook, whatsapp etc I will appreciate it more if you join me and go to d bush to look for my daughter. All those rubbish protest in abuja or other parts of d country will not bring back the girls. GO TO BORNO AND PROTEST then I will know u are in solidarity with me. What happened to d #occupy nigeria campaign? Nothing, I am not insensitive I feel for d parents of these young girls... FG didn't give birth to them, FG didn't pay their fees, FG didn't send them to borno. na today FG start to fight Boko Haram? This has to be "if I perish I perish" situation. Nigerians! Una too like talk and publicity yet no action. Let us go to Borno to stage this #Bringbackourgirl# protest. Go into d bush to find these girls. So after d protest nationwide what next? I leave that to ur imagination.
Anyone is free to cuss me out cos d cuss no go change d status quo of nigeria.

  33. I've been silent on this.issue and following the trend of the story. So many things don't add up. When Kema asked questions she was insulted. How come it took us two weeks to wake up? Anything could have happened within the two weeks. The principal should proceed on leave, the governor should be queried. We are shouting that GEJ should resign, how about the governor who is the chief security officer of the state? The sad truth is those girls may not return home.
When fuel subsidy was removed, we know how quickly we reacted. Why did the mothers and CLOs wait this long? These questions albeit insensitive needs to be pondered upon

  34. So this takes us back to Kema Chikwe's question:!truely this is beginning to seem like propaganda, this is 3wks and still not even a passport photo of either the rescued or still kidnapped'.??there is something strange abt d whole issue.maybe this whole issue is to gather sympathy and financial support from other countries, heard US is already offering something.,.which means more sharing money for them!
It's a 50_50 chance on dis story!and if we must get the real story,it has to be from the principal of dat school!she should come out with the list.

  35. Thank you Ella for speaking my mind.

Nigerians and their stupidity! Allowing themselves to be used by politicians to bury the kidnap matter! Shame on the composer's of this article and all the "circulators".

If I remember correctly, Stella herself has said on her blog before that the actual number of kidnapped girls is not 234. The fact remains that some girls are missing, whether 234 or 200.

If the names and pictures are so important to you all, ask your clueless president to get it from the school principal. Maybe that will finally get him to act. Or do you want to see their blood and corpses first.God forbid!

Very soon, some stupid people will start asking "who saw the bombs at nyanyan planted?", "who saw the corpses actually being buried?"

The international community is seeking for ways to help these poor parents, some enemies on progress are trying to dissuade them.

    God is watching you all.

  36. I swear it doesn't add up. Even the great mathematician chike obi, can't solve this one! If these girls are really in te forest, these BH are raping them on the regular, hope we know this? I just can't deal. Unless the school has no record i.e. Passport photographs of the students, reg numbers, names.

Y haven't we seen the Principal on TV to tell us what really happened? Y was Teachers not taken along if really d terrorists disguised as Army men and told them they were on Rescue Mission bc of impending Boko Haram attack.

Y didn't she call d CP of d State or Army commander to confirm b4 letting them go ahead. There are a lot of unanswered questions my dear. The story is too vague and ambiguous for me to believe.

How can they be transporting over 230 girls with all d checkpoints turning a blind eye.

They just want to provoke d masses to revolt against Jonathan PERIOD!

    1. Which stupid checkpoints? Is it d checkpoints dat always relocates immediately before an attack? U must really be dumb! Have u found out from the principal if she/he had the CP or army commander's number? See how d tin easy for ur mouth becos u r not wearing the shoe.

  41. Yes the possibility of the story being a hoax cannot be overruled but remember the same FG claimed they had rescued the girls telling the whole world lies. So if they were not kidnapped why did FG say they had rescued them. Abeg Stella answer

  49. May God forgive you all. If it was ur daughter, am sure all dis stupid questions won't arise. And if you follow the news, you would have read where an officer from waec confirmed that about 500 students registered from the school and he would forward their pictures to madam Faka. All of you asking questions as if you don't know what goes on in all these remote villages during waec where there are always resit students. Where do u want the school to get their pix? And if they are SS3 students, the pix d school wld have will probably be their reg pix. When they were being admitted into d school in JS1. All these questions is just propangada from the govt bcos the outcry cannot be contained within Nig again as it is now an intl issue. - desire

  51. Stella, my first comment every on your blog. A bit of investigative journalism skills and you won't have needed to ask these extremely unnecessary questions. We all know information ( record keeping) in Nigeria is very poor so we can excuse the fact that the actual figures cannot be very rifled. There are too many facts splashed all over the Internet indicating some girls have been kidnapped ( sadly, this had been going on for a while without the media publicising it). Anyways, I suggest you read up to get your questions answered.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Now I know most commenters here don't watch or listen to news. The nigerian police and DSS have confirmed that those girls were truly kidnapped

  55. Amaka Hundeyin, so if it was ur daughter, u wld have entered the forest to face the insurgents? How do you know the women have not bn crying out? Are you there in Chibok with them? Hypocrite.

  56. The comments on this post are disheartening even more than the original post asking needless questions. To think that quite a few people think like this is shocking & explains why most employers have categorised Nigerian graduates as unemployable. Obviously those aligning with the thoughts evinced in the post do not keep abreast of actual news and current affairs and have not been following this unfolding story.

The govt has admitted that girls are indeed missing the question is how many are missing? We don't really know. Is the govt also part of the conspiracy? Are the parents who ventured into Sambisa forest with the army in a desperate bid to look for the girls but had to turn back after making some alarming discoveries of the Sambisa BH camps, also part of the conspiracy with the govt?

A few days ago, DSS in Borno & the Police held a news conference to say the number of girls missing is actually higher than the 234 girls initially reported. Are they also part of a conspiracy? The President himself, during Sunday's Presidential media admitted inadvertently that the girls are missing by saying he doesn't know where they are but appealed to the families of the girls to work with security agencies and release more information about the girls? Is he also part of the conspiracy? Is CAN which has released names of missing girls majority of whom are Christians also part of the conspiracy? Is Oby Ezekwesili who has admirably devoted her time and resources to the #BringBackOurGirls Campaign also part of the conspiracy? Is the Defence HQ and its spokesperson Maj. Gen. A.C Olukolade who initially confirmed the report of the girls being missing and said the troops had rescued most of them before retracting its story also part of the conspiracy? Is the Chief of Defence Staff who recently solicited the prayers of the people to aid the efforts of the troop also part of this supposed conspiracy?

Let me also ask the govt a couple of pertinent questions- the Sambisa Forest is said to still be the stronghold of the BH terrorist sect, according to recent news reports following from the Chibok and other attacks- what happened to its report just a couple months ago that it had successfully dislodged BH camps in Sambisa and surrounding areas? How did the camps resurface? Also, Shekau has reportedly resurfaced in recent BH video released to the media- didn't the military say he was dead last year? How did he resurrect looking agile and even more vociferous in these videos especially the 30minute long video, which is on youtube, claiming responsibility for the March attack on Giwa Barracks?
I could go on and on with my own questions but really that will lead us nowhere because the girls are still missing! When all hands should be on deck, all lips and hands lifted in prayer and intercession that the girls will be rescued, we are here discussing semantics and asking divisive questions that can be answered by even the most cursory perusal of daily news?

Fact: YOUNG TEENAGE GIRLS ARE MISSING COS THEY'VE BEEN KIDNAPPED!
Fact: THE GOVERNMENT HAS NOT DONE ENOUGH TO COUNTER THE INSURGENCY!

I noticed some asking how the insurgents could have transported the girls in trucks in spite of check points, well most right-thinking people have been asking these same questions anytime we read/hear news reports of BH attacking a town in droves, in hilux trucks and motorbikes and for hours unchallenged as is their modus operandi. What is the use of the SOE in Borno, Yobe when these attacks on towns and communities continue unabated???

Think my people, think! I totally agree with Senate President David Mark in his recent statements that it is time to treat the BH situation as a war against the country and deal with it accordingly!

Isn't it this same Nigerian Army that played major roles in quelling the wars in Liberia and Sierra Leone and even recently, the extremist islamic uprising in Northern Mali, winning awards in the process? Why can't they do the same back home after all, charity begins at home!
