OMOTOLA Says Education Is Not A Guarantee To Success.

Superstar actress, Omotola Jolade-Ekeinde has revealed that being educated does not necessarily guarantee success in life. She made this comment at an event held recently in Lagos.

The successful movie star, while addressing a gathering, noted that although success is not compulsorily tied to education, it is advisable to be educated.

‘'There are many layers to being famous or being a celebrity and education prepares us for these layers so we can reach our full potential and be trusted with more responsibilities. Social responsibility, as you can guess, is a lot of responsibility and expression''

*One love babe!.....Mwah!

    6. I didn't know omotola is a shallow thinker.
Education is different from Schooling. Education never ends while School ends. There's no such thing as "Educated" it only exists in d dictionary.

    7. Hence she said it prepares some grounds for u. She did not say it is not necessary. She is correct it is not a guarantee to success.

Finished secondary school in Nigeria in 1996 and came here for my bsc. My daughter is 3 plus. When you find yourself in certain situation in life you need to make the best out of it. Dont sit in self pityand waste away your time and life. Being a single mum is not a disease, it should make you stronger and more determined to succed. I did the baby nursing thing and growing my biz at the same time without any help. Its easier in naija where I hv people to help eit child care. Pls to all single , married mums do not limit yourself pls. Mrs O

Education is vital, but is no guarantee to being successful in life after all Richard Branson and so many others did not attend university/college but are successful. We need more technical schools as a nation than too many universities. Those with correction and spell degrees on SDK please channel your energy to creativity not running under people's comment.*Myobservation*

    1. You are as mis-educated as well as being misinformed. The death of her father forced her to abandon her studies in OAU then in 94 and even after marrying early she still completed her HND in estate management at Yabatech.

      Delete
    2. I know she actually got her hnd, what I am saying is her beauty more than her brains has propelled her to where she is at this point. She should not make comments like this as not every young girl out there is as beautiful as she is however with a good educations, a girl child does not have to rely on her outward appearance or cheapen herself to succeed. Or marry a much older guy to secure herself.
Why do you think Biko haram wants to wipe out western education in Naija..... Ultimately because of the power it gives individuals especially girls. So ms omotola, please don't talk like this, you should be promoting positive empowerment for girls.

Omotola for someone who is a role model to young people everywhere please try and be more selective with words,I understand what you are saying but I'm wondering how many young women will interprete this statement in a positive way...education does not guarantee success but at least it helps mold an individual.

  23. I don't entirely agree with u OmoT. Recently I went to my tailor's place with a bag full of wrappers to be sewn only for her husband to tell me, she has gone to school. Whaaaaaat? I screamed but this lady is good at her job... very good and her price is very affordable as in 1800 for lace skirt n blouse unlike dem oda big big tailor's I have used in d past. 15k for rubbish skirt and blouse. anyway, I was unhappy and then I realised I was just being selfish. This lady is a very good seamstress aka tailor with a large customer base y is she then wasting her time going to school? How selfish of me... well, I applaud her courage. she knows d importance of an education cos one day d likes of me may call her semi-literate in d nearest future. To avoid such, she has to go to school and with her education, she has an edge. Let me not bore u reader, bottom line of this epistle, Get educated, irrespective of ur successful status. Annie L.P
