Nigeria First Lady Orders Arrest Of Chibok Protest Leaders? WTF!

Huffingtonpost reports that ''A leader of a protest march for 276 missing schoolgirls said that Nigeria's first lady ordered her and another protest leader arrested Monday, expressed doubts there was any kidnapping and accused them of belonging to the Islamic insurgent group blamed for the abductions. The first lady's office denied there were any arrests.

Saratu Angus Ndirpaya of Chibok town said State Security Service agents drove her and protest leader Naomi Mutah Nyadar to a police station Monday after an all-night meeting at the presidential villa in Abuja, the capital. She said police immediately released her but that Nyadar remains in detention. Deputy Superintendent Daniel Altine, police spokeswoman for Abuja, said she had no information but would investigate.
As AP journalists waited outside the Asokoro police station in Abuja where Nyadar was being held, they watched a vehicle from the presidential State House drive up, saw her bundled into the car and driven away.
Ayo Adewuyi, spokesman for first lady Patience Jonathan, said there was a meeting but he was unaware of any arrests. "The first lady did not order the arrest of anybody, and I'm sure of that," he told the AP.

But Ndirpaya said Mrs. Jonathan accused them of fabricating the abductions. "She told so many lies, that we just wanted the government of Nigeria to have a bad name, that we did not want to support her husband's rule," she said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press.
She said other women at the meeting, allies of Mrs. Jonathan including officials of the government and the ruling party, cheered and chanted "yes, yes," when Mrs. Jonathan accused them of belonging to Boko Haram, an Islamic insurgent group that allegedly kidnapped the girls. "They said we are Boko Haram, and that Mrs. Nyadar is a member of Boko Haram." She said Nyadar and herself do not have daughters among those abducted, but are supporting the mothers of kidnapped daughters.

Mrs. Jonathan said the women "had no right to protest," especially Nyadar, whom she identified as the deputy director of the National Directorate of Employment. Jonathan said Nyadar should resign her government post, Ndirpaya said.
In a report on the meeting, Daily Trust newspaper quoted Mrs. Jonathan as ordering all Nigerian women to stop protesting, and threatening "should anything happen to them during protests, they should blame themselves."
It was unclear what authority Mrs. Jonathan would have to give such orders.
Protesters said they are also concerned that they have been unable to reach two other people who were at the meeting: the principal of Chibok Government Girls Secondary School, Asabe Kwambura, and the town's local government chairman, Bana Lawal. "They were supposed to meet with us this morning, they were last seen at the (presidential) villa, and we suspect they are being kept there to stop them speaking out," said Tsambido Hosea Abana, chairman of the Chibok community in Abuja, who has a sister and three nieces among the missing girls.
An adviser to the president says the mass abduction and failure to rescue the girls, now in a fourth week of captivity, is a source of deep embarrassment to Jonathan and his government. Some Nigerians have accused the government of insensitivity to the girls' plight and not doing enough to rescue them.

On Sunday night, Jonathan said his administration is doing everything possible. On Friday he created a presidential committee to go to the affected Borno state to work with the community on a strategy for the release.

Some girls who have escaped from the mass kidnapping said their captors identified themselves as Boko Haram.

    2. Stella stop this why are helping them promote this propaganda, so because the foreign media carried this news you just copied and paste. It started from the tweets of oby ezekwesili that she-male who is helping the opposition incite violence. The woman allegedly detained by the police claims to be a mother to one of the abducted, however her name is not on the list. Last time, I checked the women could come alll the way to abuja to protest but refused to honour the PEJ's invitation including the governor's wife due to distance. How come they were carrying placards of GEJ must go instead of bring back our girls, that women was held by the police for questioning which is not against the law, you said your daughter is missing provide her name and picture. This protest should be held in borno instead of abuja if they are really serious, all roads must lead to borno. People playing politics with this is really disheartening. The northern elites are the cause of this problem not GEJ and his first lady. It's funny how all of them have kept numb about this and Oby their lead vocalist. Nigerians think!

    3. one can't believe that as intelligent as southerners are, some of them are buying these northern gimmicks who are only playing politics and trying to grab power at all cost. They are trying everything possible to paint the governerment in bad light and they will stop at nothing to incite gullible southerners against the govt. Was the arrested woman in asorock with patience Jonathan when she ordered the police to arrest her or other protesters?? How possible is it that the wife of the president came to the protest ground to order their arrest? Where did she see her to start with?? You all should open your eyes.

    4. Well, would have blamed the first lady as usual but at dis point I don't know wat to believe abt dis issue!
D woman deserves to be arrested maybe she call spill out on what conspiracy is going on!first 234 gals are kidnapped, and not even one biological parent present in d protest, how is dat?again, not even one parent is present at d firstlady's call to talk abt d issue, inasmuch as y'all will claim they are afraid of BH boys, most mothers will rather mortgage their lives for their kids and be there!#its strange#!
The Govnor's wife also absent, principal of school absent!ha!there is more to this story that meets the eye!now that boko haram's Shekau suddenly' decided to come out and claim the kidnap just after pple started doubting the authenticity of d saga, the coincidence(if it's actually so),is quite amazing.infact for me I am beginning to suspect that the borno state government is working hand in hand with BH boys!and also that BH is only a monster' created by our politicians as a means to an end...(which is getting money from d security votes acct thru creating confusion, deaths and destruction of properties) the sad thing is just that it's the poor masses that have been on the receiving end of these evils!...nigerian politicians,'there is God oooo!#in mama peace voice#
We will continue to pray sha,the truth concerning this matter will be out soon so we can all rest from 'lending our voices'!

  13. I take this APC~ newspaper~ version with a pinch of salt. Where are the mothers of the abducted girls? Why can't they come forward?my mum would o. Besides,I ve scanned the list of abductees, and it seems bogus! Rotating 4 christian names in a muslim dominated state? 5 Deborahs,6 Esthers,a roll call of Ruths? Then, where you find a muslim\Northern name, the surname becomes john or Peter. Wetin? Something is not right. The funny part is,we don't want to 'sherlock holmes' this matter.Let's ask questions! I am sure Aso rock knows more than its letting.Patience, almost tearfully revealed that there were no girls?!?!Let's wonder too, Was there an abduction in the first place? Are we playing a script as willing actors, free of charge? Read the account of the 2 girls who escaped. It is fraught with loopholes and weak links. Not even a bruise from the incident? Are they Bionic? Let's bring all the facts on the table o.These mallams fit dey play us 'ten~ten'!

    5. You just echoed my thoughts. I am still in a bit of a doubt about everything I have heard concerning this abduction. Now, I heard that they have released a video accepting responsibility for abducting the girls and threatening to sell them. So, what about the news that the girls have been ferried out and married off? Why are they contradicting themselves? Call me a doubting thomas and I will gladly accept. (My opinion). Feel free to disagree civilly.

Stella I don't believe the First Lady ordered for the woman's arrest. People are playing politics with other peoples lives. I think these children do not deserve this. They are too big a price for this political madness. Now there a video of the insurgents claiming responsibility. I don't understand Hausa but Shekau was quoted to say 'I will sell your girls'. If he's still talking in present tense that means they arent sold yet. Now my question is, where did the $12 per girl story emmanate from? Who is really behind all of this? Stella you are a wise woman. I'll leave you to put two and two together. I believe we are closer to the truth than we ever have been that's why there's so much distraction so we can miss curbing this evil once and for all.

  25. EXPOSED: How Northern Elders Kidnapped Chibok School Girls To Embarrass Jonathan – Bashir Ado, Northern Group.
    Category: Boko Haram News

As Nigerian army continues to comb Borno forests in search of the female students abducted recently by Boko Haram sect, a group on Monday accused some northern elders of being the brain behind the incident.

The group, under the umbrella of United Alliance, in a statement by its northern co-ordinator, Bashir Ado, accused some northern elders of using the abduction to distract and embarrass President Goodluck Jonathan.

Speaking ahead of the protest, which is slated for Wednesday by women in the Federal Capital Territory over the kidnap of the Chibok girls, Ado said the protesters should not direct their grievance at the President, saying Jonathan has nothing to do with the incident.

He said, “The disappearance of the girls is part of the Northern elders agenda to embarrass and distract the Goodluck Jonathan government.

“They deliberately took the girls away to create an impression of insecurity and paint the picture that nobody is safe in the country, whereas they are the architect of these self- inflicting wounds aimed at distracting the government”

Bashir Ado also called on the federal government to question the school authorities for defying an earlier order by the Federal Government that schools in the area be temporarily shutdown.
It said the school authorities “deliberately ignored government’s directive.”

The group said, “There was an initial instruction to school authorities in the area to evacuate students from schools because of insecurity and the parents were aware of this. Why then would the authorities of the school refuse to yield to such sensitive instruction if there was no pre-conceived agenda to lash on the perceived state of insecurity to organise the kidnap of their own children and put the blame at the doorstep of the Federal Government.

“The co-ordinated media interviews the mothers of the alleged missing girls have been granting showed that a script is being acted.

“It is high time our leaders in the North come to terms with the reality that this self inflicting havoc will continue to deplete the value of Northerners and eventually deprive us of our place in the Nigerian nation,” he added.

I thought PEJ was crying her heart out over the missing girls?

How come she is now saying she doesn't think there are any missing girls and its all a ploy to give her husband's government a bad name; hence arresting protesters?

Am getting tired of the two-faced nature of the entire government.

My only prayer is that myself, my family and good Nigerians don't fall into danger or a terrible situation that would require presidential attention. because from the look of things, if any one does, OYO is your case.
