  1. See what this country has degenerated to! I hope 'power drunk' Jonathan can read this and see what the international community thinks of him and his administration.

    1. Oh dear, my beloved country has become an object of analysis and bashful criticisms..all thanks to our lawmakers. The last comment made some sense tho, all aids should be cut off since we can barely survive on $2 per day, that's way below poverty level.

    2. What do you mean by power drunk? When IBB,Abacha etc were there for so many years. You didn't called power drunk!

  2. If this is the help we've been crying for so be it, this country and her leader are an embarrassment, hopefully this #Bringbackourgirls thing would expose Nigeria more to the public since we are used to Suffering and Smiling we don't actually know what Joy and good life is anymore " they have hot sport cars and Dirt roads go figure" I'm figuring alright and am happy other are aware too.

    1. Well, that's their opinion and I respect their views, everyone is entitled theirs. After all we also critique their government, we talk about Russia, Iraq etc. So why not Nigeria? After all there's a good reason we are in the news. Its best they dump their talks on us so that the power that be will know that Nigerians are not merely being melodramatic, as those who have no stake in our affairs see things clearly too. Now would Reuben open his mouth tomorrow to say that all these foreigners analysing our predicament are APC sponsors against GEJ for propaganda? I don't think so. What the heck.

  7. How do you mean it's all the truth? This is one side...besides, this is coming from people who are critical of other people's system and not critical about the one in front of them. Somethings are true in the posts...such as the one about the President's wife. But the idea of the religious divide and how it happens is just nonsense. There is more dynamics in it than what they are painting for others to read. It goes beyond that and our sentiments in some instances shield us away from seeing it. Unfortunately, Jonathan is a very weak man when it comes to Nigeria's governance and leadership, however, we should not put all the blame on him by making it seems that he wants to cover the whole BH thing. I feel for the man but he made things worse. He decided not to act or try to pull down the whole cry about the things happening in the affected states just to keep his power. His wife who is more senior to him made it much worse than him. I am sure what they discuss in bedroom surely comes out from the wife's mouth to the public. So sad that they have idiots as advisers and ministers and even policy makers.

  10. It's not their fault, it is what the our bias press feed to the world. We call him names on every social media, we ridicule his wife and make her a laughing stock. We will all be looked down on as Nigerians not just Gej. Every right thinking nigerian knows that the chibok situation is a huge conspiracy to discredit Gej and Nigeria. Isha Sesay comes to Nigeria and says thrash, same with Peter Brookes, we laugh and applaud them forgetting it's not just about the government but also an insult to the people. We have been reduced to this mess and we have to clean up our mess. When America predicted we would go our separate ways in 2015, I didn't suspect it would be like this. Everything will fall into perspective sooner or later. America can't try this with India even though India is as corrupt as nigeria. We are a third world nation not a developed nation, its okay to make mistakes.

  11. @Rogelyn Reciprocat analysis is spot on, Militancy/Boko Haram terriorist was created by our political elites and parties. I think is time they seat down and talk both PDP and ACN because those PDP members are ACN members same people but different card. If things are not handled carefully
now those boys will come for our political elites, so i ask them to be prepared for the monsters they created years ago. They gave them ammunition that same weapon will be used against them soon both Governors, senators,House Rep. Nigeria was here before us and will continue to be after we depart.

  13. We live in a country where everyone takes everything for granted. An average Nigerian will tell you he has no bussiness in politics or governance. Some people don't even know the names of those in power not to talk more of what they represent. Imagine a guy in 200L of about 26yrs asking if there is a state in Nigeria called Zamfara and Yobe. Isn't it heart breaking and embarrassing to hear? But he knows everything about Manchester United and Barcelona football club. If we can channel some of the energy we use in criticising our celebs and making them realise that they are in the lime light and hence compelled to do things right just for the sake of not being cussed out by the public, why can't we also do the same to those in the corridors of power. Utill we begin to pay more attention to how we are governed and show that we care by paticipating more in government, be it through social media or other means, nothing will change in this country. We need to hold them accountable!
President Jonathan is the most criticised president ever in Nigeria why? Because he is open.....we know alot about him and his administration. Which never used to be so, imagine you can now say whatever you want without fear....but some call this weakness because we are used to living in fear and force.
Lets participate more in government and governance. Its high time we started showing as a people that we care.
An average Nigeria in Osun, Imo or Bayelsa doesn't care about the killings in Borno, Yobe or Adamawa. Why? Because he feels it is not affecting him! And someone in Oyo or Enugu does not care either about the oil spillage in Ogoni.
I don't know if President Jonathan is a good man but all i know is that he means well.
    GOD BLESS NIGERIA.
LONG LIVE THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA.

    1. This is the best comment EVER.

There is something catastrophically wrong with a people in country that feel that openness equals weakness. I don't blame you guys though, Nigerians have been traumatised by years of military dictatorship plus the semi-military style of OBJ. Nigerians are like a woman who is used to being treated roughly by men so much that when she comes across a guy who is gentle and considerate with her, she feels he is weak.

The entire Muslim North and large sections of western Nigeria are out to frustrate Jonathan and paint the government as corrupt and inept. They want Nigeria back to the days when power (and hence commerce) was almost exclusively shared by northern and western Nigeria. Jonathan is not a saint, however (in my books) he is much better than nearly all the previous leaders put together. Unfortunately, every step he takes is hounded and discredited by people who are hell bent on getting their hands on power, and ending the "insult of a non-muslim Southern minority leader in Nigeria". The only option Jonathan really had was to rule with terror and brutally crush any form of opposition. Remember what used to happen to our Igbo brothers whenever they tried to hold any pan-igbo meeting in Nigeria during OBJ's tenure? Remember what happened to their massob (even though it was the least of our problems) and its leaders?

I'm almost entirely convinced that this whole #bringourgirlsback saga would set things going in Nigeria that will end in a way that most people (including Jonathan's detractors) will never predict. We are probably in for a lot of shocks and surprises.

By the way, most people in Europe/America, and indeed Asia and middle east, believe deep down that they are a superior human being to to black Africans. Their attitude towards us (unless you are romantically involved with them) is at best patronising most times. They expect the worst from us and our continent and see any good thing/news as glitches or anomalies. There is nothing surprising in any of the comments they made in the above article. Those and much worse (trust me, they were being polite there) is typical of them. Forget about those buccaneering foreigners you see in Nigeria. Those ones, even though they still show open disdain for things Nigerian, are there for money.

  15. Asides religion being an issue... UN-EDUCATION and IGNORANCE are the major problems we have in Nigeria, asides the first lady being uneducated, we also have an ignorant president. Nigerians as a whole do not have love for one another,we lynch criminals without prosecution, we have a corrupt government with out a care about the poorer mass, even in a small family unit there is envy and jealousy esp when one family member is succeeding.
I love my country, its painful to see us setback in this manner; It hurts knowing that we are so rich but live like beggars; it is sad that we are forced watch and yet after protests our voices are not heard; it depresses to know that corruption has brought us so low when we have so much potential as the giant of Africa.
I am muslim, and it is painful to see what extremists and insanity as turned the religion to.
i pray for a time in Nigeria where we can all live as one, in peace and without fear.

  16. EVERYBODY IN THE WORLD IS NOW A SPECIALIST IN NIGERIA AFFAIRS. #BRINGBACKOURGIRLS IS NOW A JOB FOR EXPIRED ACTORS AND ACTRESSES AND OTHER NO-PERSONS ALL OVER THE WORLD. SOME OF THEM DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE NIGERIA IS,GEOGRAPHICALLY. YES, WE HAVE SOME CHALLENGES, WE WILL DEFINITELY SORT IT OUT. PRESIDENT JONATHAN AND TEAM ARE WORKING FLAT-OUT TO SORT THIS OUT. NIGERIA IS NOT US, UK, FRANCE ETC. WE HAVE OUR OWN WAY OF DOING THINGS. OUR WAY, IS OUR WAY AND NOT THEIR OWN WAY. BOKO HARAM IS NOT OUR WAY, IT'S NEW TO US. WE WILL ADAPT. IT'S ONLY WITH TIME. BACK OFF.

  17. Chai chai chai!! Soo the shallowness of 9ja's government is well know internationally even to this extent?? Giant of Africa indeed yet the masses suffer everyday with no hope that things would ever get better..I just hope they all read this and know that the whole world now knows that Nigeria is just the thorough definition of a failed govt who can never put the interest of its citizens in her schedule..the Redemption of Nigeria will only take the grace of God.. odiegwu!!! The truth really hurts...

  18. I am tired of people saying this chibok abduction is a conspiracy to discredit Gej govt. At this point,I don't care anymore if the kidnap was real or faked but I am glad that other international bodies are now aware of what we going thru and have decided to help us.. Very soon, they would all come together and wipe out this force called BH and we would be in peace..

if the abduction is fake, the constant killings in the north are they also fake? The bombings are they fake? So why is this one tagged fake? Isn't it something they can do? They go to villages broad day light and kill, slaugter people like animals and burn their properties,so how is kidnapping this gals hard for them...

I am tired of Nigerian thinking we are alright when we are not.. We accept every bad situation and smile and laugh about it.. We all need to wake up and know thy out leaders have failed us in terms of security... Everybody now walks and tip toes.. Today you will hear their is a bomb scare here and there.. All what was written above is certainly true about Nigeria... Our leaders don't give a fuck about how we feel.. There was a bomb explosion and the president went about rallying and the vice president lost a relative and an important meeting was cancelled... Now you can see what their priorities are....

Please,America should help. Isreal should help, every country that can help us should.. Let us keep crying until we get help.. The president wouldn't have asked for help, but because he saw the way people were revolting and causing international bodies to notice us,that's why he is now acting like he is seeking for help...

  20. Well i don't blame them, until African leaders stop looting their nations and start investing in Africa i am afraid their will be no respect for us. Look at it this way, a Nigerian get's killed by an Arab and their Police will protect their own citizen. A Nigerian get's killed by an Arab in Nigeria and the Nigerian Police will collect bribe and set the Arab free!

SDK said she feels very sad and that is the truth. The 'that is the truth' was to emphasise on the fact that the reactions of these people makes her sad. It doesn't mean that 'all they said was true' as some of you have already started insinuating oh. chai...

I knew that canvassing the world to join our #bringbackthegals campaign was only going to bring us ridicule and it's just the beginning.
What is GEJ expecting?a pat on the back for failing and being clueless?all I see is a conspiracy with his govt spearheading.

  24. I'm wondering why those prophets didn't see this coming earlier while prophesying... Says a lot huh? I reserve my comment.

We all know what they are saying us true. Pres Jonathan is very non chalant about all these. He only started speaking up when he and the other people noticed this tgeir plan had already gained intl recognition. They weren't thinking it would get to this extent, and just so you'd know, they are all init together with the Boko haram saga. These people don't care about us, and I really good that, just as much as these external parties can't do much for our country, now that what's been hidden in the dark is gradually coming to light, that we her citizens, stand up for her. We are able to right the wrongs of these useless government who doesn't care about us. And whoever votes for jona, thunder fire your left ass cheek bone.
