Obesere was accused of rape by Ms Nike Olaiya recently and after granting several interviews swearing to his innocence,he has taken a step further by releasing a VCD to clear the air.
He explains in an interview with encomium why he had to release the VCD.....
The VCD contains Obesere’s interview and that of his witness, Alhaja Bolatito Omo Owo And it has been in circulation since its release on Monday, March 17, 2014.
“I want people, especially my fans, to get a clearer picture of what really happened between myself and NikeOlaiya. Also, the inclusion of Alhaja Bola Omo Owo’s interview in the video is to let the public know that I have nothing to hide. I am sure everybody can recognize me, but I want people to also see the face of Alhaja Omo Owo so that they will all know she’s not a fake person. Rape Scandal was produced to explain everything in detail. It wasn’t for monetary reason, but all of a sudden, everybody keeps requesting for a copy.
“By now, Nike should just come out and defend herself. Her picture is also on the jacket of the CD. Everybody knows that Papa can never rape and that will never happen. I believe that won’t be the first time Nike will be swindling men. It’s God that exposed her. That’s why she is running up and down. Everybody has seen the face of a scammer. Very soon, she would show up or be fished out.”
Reacting to the video development on Sunday, March 23, 2014, Olaiya said:
“Let them go ahead with their video CDs. If they like, they should come out with 10 of such, it doesn’t bother me. Very soon, the whole world will know the truth. All I know is that sinners won’t go unpunished. But I thank God I am okay now.”
* God cannot be mocked and i pray he exposes the truth soon....if Nike was truly raped God will fight her battle and vice versa.

I think this is proof that Nigeria is indeed a jungle. How can a suspect in an ongoing rape investigation be profiting from the crime he allegedly committed? Only in Nigeria.

DeleteA lot of known personalities who took interest in her case in Lagos state have been asking her to come and present her case, giving her d assurance that they would ensure Obesere doesn't bully her to silence or bribe his way out. Yet the she refused to come out. What else does she want? U don't start such allegations and then keep quiet or hide, nothing can happen to her bcos everyone is watching. The guy may be doing it the wrong way but he has to also let his fans hear his side since the lady in question has refused to pursue it further.
Just in case u wonder, I personally was assigned to follow up her case by the Lagos state human rights department. I have sent at least 3 different communications to her to help with her case but she's not responding. My guess as much as the police is that she doesn't have tangible evidence to back up her claim. I am a woman too and this is not the first rape allegation I'll treat. My service to her would have been free and fair but I smell there's more to her claim after I was made to read her statement at the police station. I invited her to my office and she refused to come. Up till now, no one in my quarters has contacted the alleged rapist, Obesere. We are more for the victims and we provide them utmost protection. I learnt of the story on this blog and I have since been pursing it ever since. So the lady leaves us nothing to fight for which is indeed unfortunate. Now giving the man a clear bill for the public to assume that she lied against him.
I might also add before people get a wrong perception of my earlier post. What Obesere has done is absolutely illegal and is gross contempt against the court of law. However the case has not been taken to court yet. Perhaps his legal adviser understood this, hence encouraged him to proceed with the CD. If this matter was already in court he would be slammed with multiple penalties. But no court is on motion regarding this just yet. Which was why I said the lady is frustrating her own case if she doesn't pursue it.

DeleteJustice system, reading this your lengthy opinion got me quite exhausted. Whether the case is in court already or not, I want to believe that the police are carrying out investigations and as such obesere remains a suspect in whatever investigation they are conducting. Also, I haven't read anywhere that the police couldn't find any damning evidence against him, rather the reverse is the case. I haven't also read that the case has been dismissed. Therefore, the bottomline remains that the suspect is profitting from a crime he's being accused of. The victims action or inaction remains immaterial in this particular context.

Now, tell us whether it is possible for a person to visit a barber's shop for a haircut without his head? The police may have dismissed the case because the complainant is not pursuing her case. And as I write now, the latest is that the police have also tried to reach her but to no avail. Yet she's been granting telephone interviews with journalists. Does this make sense? I and my department were suppose to help her based on the strength of whatever evidence she has, but has she provided us with any, and yet we didn't pursue it? So what are u talking about? There are laws guiding every action whether u like it or not. If the case is NOT in court then the court cannot hold this man liable for a libel suit. I am not condoning it but that is the fact unfortunately. How can the police gather evidence without her? I don't even think u understand what u are arguing, so I'll just allow u goof along.

Faints. I can't believe this is really happening, who does this? How tacky. Please, I don't know the protocol of things in naija, but when a rape is reported, do they do a rape kit or not? Just want to know. If not, Obesere has no reason to be running around and producing VCD, the rape kit will nail him sooner or later.

The OBESERE I know will never rape,he is very humble and nice. I have met most of the Yoruba musician and I am proud to say he is still the nicest of them all. I agree,he made a mistake but that doesn't make him a rapist. This is rape issue is just a cheap blackmail . I however admit putting the lady pix on the poster is wrong.
