Kidnappers Demand For N10m From WIfe Of Wazobia FM's Akas-baba.

Uneasy calm prevails in Rivers State, after the shooting and forceful abduction of popular Wazobia FM presenter,Anthony Akatakpo, aka Diplomatic Akas Baba, by unknown gunmen on Thursday March 12,2014

Akatakpo, was kidnapped from his residence in Rumuekini, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The kidnappers according to eye witness report numbered about 12 shot the radio presenter in the leg before taking him away in his private Mitsubishi Endeavor Sport Utillity Vehicle with registration number LSD 871 CM at about 3 am.

The kidnappers who operated for about one hour unchallenged, went on to shoot the AOP on the leg even when he did not resist them.

The kidnappers have left  a message for Akatakpo’s pregnant wife instructing her to pay them a ransom of N10m or risk having him killed.

*I just hope that they are tending to the gunshot wound to prevent infection!
This kidnappings in Nigeria is scary, even the poor is no longer spared...where do those idiots expect his pregnant wife to get N10m from?

  4. The real issues are being brought home. If the President's Uncle could be successfully targeted, then what hope for the common man.-

CNN in one of its recent broadcasts, posits that 100 million Nigerians live
below the poverty line. The National Bureau of Statistics said over 54% of youths
in Nigeria are jobless, while the World Bank puts the figure at 56%.

According to Dr Okonjo Iweala, the misery index increased in 2013.The consequences of this is that the Youths and Poor are becoming more susceptible to crimes .

Boko Haram, a designed tool to destabilize President Jonathan, could also have its
roots to the Arab Spring which has been traced to Poverty and Joblessness.

According to Wole Olanipekun (SAN), former Unibadan Chancellor ……“Go to the
Streets, …you see anger and frustration …..suffering, poverty, anguish
and malady written boldly on the faces of several Nigerians”. Chief Mike Ozekome
(SAN) described Youth Unemployment as the father of Boko Haram,
    Militancy, Kidnapping, Robbery etc.
