''I had my second child 3 years ago, i didn't use anything after having my first child, i took in just after 6months of having my first child. The implant on the upper part of the arm was what i used. i have had it for the past three years now and it would be due for removal or renewal (depending on what i choose to do) next month.

The only side effect i had after starting it was that i didn't see my period for almost a year, but after then, everything became normal and i began to see my period. i didn't put on weight.

The main gist is that, about a week ago, a family friend called to inform me that one of her friend's sisters was diagnosed with breast cancer which was traced to the implanon she fixed on her upper arm. i became scared and i have really been thinking of what next to do when i remove mine next month.

i have also heard from another friend of mine who said she had the coil and still became pregnant, and the coil was no where to be found, scans also showed that it was not in her body.

I'm still in my early 30s and would not mind having another child but the economic situation of this country has made me decide that i will just have 2 children so i can use the resources available to me and my husband to give the best to our children''.
