Ericsson Staff Allegedly Attack Commuter Bus On Third Mainland Bridge + Break Drivers Head! And Offer Him N10K

‎Hi Stella,

We are the ones killing ourselves in this part of the world, this isn't police brutality, fellow Nigerians beating and maiming themselves..... am so angry and shaking as I type this. The Yaba bus I just took from Onikan just got ATTACKED by Ericsson staff on third mainland bridge!

The driver of the bus I was in was on his lane when this coaster staff bus belonging to Ericsson came from the right and entered his front ,the driver stopped because the driver of this staff bus was trying to play smart he kept moving in and scratched his bus in the process.

He came down and started harassing the driver and the staff of Ericsson decided to come down and beat our driver silly, broke his head and he started bleeding because of their driver's irresponsibility!‎

I Have attached pictures ,the guy in blue's name is Mudasiru Ilesanmi that's the only name I could get, the driver of the staff bus is the one in white pressing his phone.

They have called for back-up from their office and even had the effrontery to offer the driver with broken head N10k to go treat himself because we are delaying them with our noise.

Please you need to help publish this so Ericsson management will know the kind of staff they employed.

Thanks

  4. Very sad, they employed touts this is common occurrence in Lagos and other states. You go out not knowing who is going to attack you or fight you even okada man is threat. We Nigerians are too harsh and anger is our no 1 problem maybe is due to harsh economic situation,we are not gentle at all. Most of this issues can be avoided, psychological 70% Nigerians are mentally unbalanced if a test is consulted a lot of us will fall it our leaders are even worst because if their brain are ok they won't steal us dry while citizens fight themselves.

  6. Why don't some people carry their angry miserable lives to the government...majority of people living in this country are sadist and mad...looking for trouble where there is none...always ready to fight and shed blood...tufiakwa...sorry to say but yoruba people are guilty of this...

  7. Someone once said most Nigerians are mad anyway. I'm begining to believe it. Problem with the Third Mainland Bridge is that it doesn't have a service lane for emergency vehicles for fire trucks and police. When there is a traffic accident or a vehicler breakdown, everyone suffers. I spent three hours on that bridge for that reason and it wasn't funny. I can see people dieing on that bridge because of lack of a service lane. They should convert part of the right lane to a service lane to bring sanity to that bridge. They should also have a permanent police presence on different sections of the service lane to keep traffic moving.

    1. Very stupid comment I must say, don't forget, a driver is someone's son, father, brother, husband and friend. Yes they tend to misbehave. That doesn't mean they all should be treated in such manner.

  11. "Breaks Drivers Head"?

Looks like the driver has a cut, that head is not broken

Come to think of it, how many right thinking person/driver struggle with Danfo drivers, unless your car was made in the 80s.

Nobody will be driving a very neat bus like that and will not give way to Danfo driver, otherwise the bus will have a colour-mix and at worse, you will be 'appeased' by him postrating.

The story looks one sided, and I guess the Danfo driver thought all the people in the bus are white collar people, obviously he proved himself wrong.

Unfortunately in this country, a lot of people are angry with others who have better cars, buses etc and pitch themselves against them at any opportunity.

  12. Well, we just heard from one side. Most of these danfo drivers at times, once you want to enter their lane, they too would want to increase their speed to prevent you from entering knowing that if there is an impact, you will be at the receiving end of vehicle damage cos of the kind of vehicles they drive. I don't support beating the driver and breaking his head, but they too get their own for body. As we speak, nothing fit happen cos if the driver don collect the money, all have been settled.

  14. Dear poster/reporter, thanks for bringing this up but sorry at your ignorance. The fact that Ericsson is a big company doesn't mean every hungry man can feed on it's largesse.
This happens everyday on this bridge where commercial bus drivers try to take advantage of private vehicles and staff buses and sometimes end up being beaten up.
The fact that it's an Ericsson staff bus doesn't mean you can get rich overnight from this ur hustle.
Sadly most of the people that ride on the such staff buses are Contractors/outsourced especially the drivers. You can't make any money from this. All you can get is helping the poor Muda boi or whatever loose his job. I hope you'll be able to feed his dependents afterwards

  15. My dear these office drivers na wah. The worst are those driving oyinbo and semi oyinbo(lebaneese and asians). They drive as if they just won the lottery and do all sorts of stunts. meanwhile these people they are driving use bus and trek back home. Anyway ericcson na very rural company thats why they employ such staff that fight in public. And see the small money 10k.

  19. I know someone that was in the bus. The driver is not the regular danfo driver but some one who has a day job and pick passengers on his way to work and when he is coming back. Do you think a regular danfo driver's head will be cut in Lagos and those guys will go free with no other person injured? What will his conductor be doing? will other bus drivers that knows him in the garage just pass by and allow them inflict such wound on him? people are just naturally wicked. Where is the scratch on the white bus? Lets assume he is at fault must you draw blood from him? If he slums and dies will we still be saying danfo drivers are wicked? i drive and i run from them, any one who drives in Lagos know they only hit and beg or hit and run. God fought for the driver and he got justice right there and then, i wish the Ericsson staffs can come and say what they had gone through btw the time they wounded the driver and now. No man can go unpunished, God is a just God. Money is not everything for the person who is saying the driver wants compensation.

  20. While I, in no way, condone the staff bus driver's alleged behaviour, the story is one sided. Assuming the story is true why do we think the danfo driver is not at fault? So you really think Ericsson is to blame for this? Its sad and strange the driver did that - I know him personally. Ericsson will not be liable, I am sure its a 3rd party company.

If this was a civilized country both men will be detained for affray and the Ericsson staff will face the wrath of the law for causing grievous bodily harm but alas this is Nigeria. Sincerely there is so much violence in our country and it shows how we have lost our values as a nation.

  25. Hi Stella,

    Thanks for posting.
Am sure you got my mail quite late.

This happened about 6pm yesterday. We stood by the driver because he was very quiet and driving responsibly. It was their bus that was wrong and the policemen @ the bridge before Adeniji interfered and I was really impressed at the way they took up the matter in a matter of minutes there were three police vehicles and about 10policemen at the scene. They arrested the driver and some of the staff of Ericsson and impounded their vehicle that a traffic disagreement should not escalate to drawing of blood from another citizen. We left the scene @ 8pm last night and the matter is currently at Adeniji police station in case you want to investigate further.

  26. Nice piece from an hungry blogger, instead of capitalizing on suppose recruiter of the private bus and exagerate on the bad actions potrayed by both the accuse and spectators you hammered on the privated company name who have a well trainned programme on ground . if you think you can win this case i can bet it. you are already a looser .if you are a baby reporter you need to learn journalism politics for you to grow . else .. this might affect you at the end of the day. i believe that adding more scene pictures to elaborate your point of view does not make the story a best seller. it just potrays you that you dont have much to report but finding a way to keep yourself busy...just be careful....Regards..lol
