  28. Stella maybe you should go back and read your own original blog post about the lady's theft, the style and nuance actually encourage this kind of public back lash against her.

people who are now mouthing sanctimonious tirades should go back and read the comments they left on the original story,if a member of the odunfa or whatever's attention was called to the comments of course they will cut her off before Nigerians start saying they sent her to steal..

    1. I agree with you Luca, Stella's post did more harm than good, I hope she reflects and sorts herself out though, this incident may continue to trail her for the rest of her life cuz people will keep talking about it and will even tell others who never heard the story.

      Delete
    2. I too agree with you Luca, but the fact remains that she's a thief, and a seemingly unrepentant one at that. A person who spent a big chunk of last year imprisoned awaiting trial for doing something similar. Then her case gets thrown out, and she is released back into society. Goes on blogs to say she was 'set up'. Gets caught red handed this year doing the exact same thing, and even with master keys in her possession. A person who implicated innocent people who
had to go and clear their names?
Exactly whose fault is it that she did all these things? If she had gotten away with the theft do you really think that would have been the last time she did it? If this trails her for the rest of her life, it's on her own head. She had more than fair warning last year, but she chose to continue.

    3. I concur with SWS. No one wants to be associated with stuffs like this. If they didn't remove her from their midst the first time, then I think that they are justified this time around.

U need to know the atrocities these nollywood pple indulge themselves. Even if they didn't denounce her officially, the likelihood that her career is finished is eminent. Who would want to invite her to play roles in their movies again? Who would want to be her friend? They would have ostracised her anyway, so this removal is better. A big lesson to her. She should be punished severely for bringing her organisation this much shame.

Meanwhile those who are refering to the drug peddlers amongst them, news has it that 60% of them have at some point indulged in drug trafficking, so they cannot openly castigate those who were caught for fear of being called out themselves. And that includes their boss(es). Wunmi was very lucky, so was baba suwe. Because people soon forgot their crime and warmed up to them again. Wunmi especially got a lot of empathy from all and sundry, plus she was very sober and she openly admitted to her wrong doing, she profusely apologised and that sufficed it for all.

Now it's a thing of the past. If she ventures that shit again then I trust my naija people, she will hear it again. First time offenders can be pardoned, but not the repeated ones like this girl here. She should just go rehabilitate herself and perhaps venture another trade for a living. Its quite embarrassing I must say, I wonder how she'll manage the stare around town.

    5. @sws and Mrs Zulu
But what stella's original post and ensuing comments including this act have done is to make a bad situation very worse…the jungle justice condemnation which the style of writing in the original blog post incited

we want her to stop her petty crime yet we stop her making money legitimately and then push her out in the cold what if she goes off to join hardened armed robbers that will make her even worse? there is a reason why people like these are not jailed but given community service and involuntary psychological help if this was abroad..

there is no one who is not redeemable including the lady ,like Anon 1;03 said they are hypocrites if wunmi who committed a more serious offence of drug smuggling can be redeemed and rehabilitated why not do the same for this lady?

they can even use her case to make a movie that many will learn from, they can take her to religious or psychological practitioners who can help and manage her situation..

      @Mrs zulu
my prayers for you is that you dont experience armed robbery…my dad was a victim while in our home town young men in their twenties and even though he co operated and gave them everything they wanted they kept on saying "People like you who have eaten all our money are the reason we are robbing" then smack him with the butt of their guns..out of the whole experience and other victims will tell you one thing people dont understand is why armed robbers display resentment and hate..it is because of the first 2 lines in the last paragraph of your comment

      Delete
    6. Luca. The first 2lines in the last paragraph of my earlier comment is what,? I said for wunmi, drug peddling is a thing of the past, well I want to assume. What I mean in essence is that when u are caught committing a crime for the first time, ur excuses may be considered...like I hear the girl in question stole before now and she said it was a framed up accusation by her friends. Now this, what's her excuse? I am not in anyway supporting the jungle justice that was done her, not at all. But I do not have any problem with her removal from her caucus.

What do u mean by if they expel her she will have no means of livelihood? Hello, she was working the first and second time she was caught stealing, wasn't she?
And do we then release all those who have been jailed for theft in Nigeria on the basis that they should be given jobs so that they won't steal again? Like u are suggesting here? Are the prisons and the judiciary there for frogs or for criminals? Hers was publicised becos she's a celeb, so what's with the preferential treatment when others face the full wrath of the law? Moreover she's done it more than once o.

If u are against the style of justice that was done her by onlookers, I quite agree. But that she shouldn't have been expelled is being way too ridiculous. She's lucky she's not locked in detention somewhere. For me that punishment will suffice it for now. Others will learn not to indulge in the same act.

That is to show you that stealing is not a case one can just wish away

  35. There's no excuse for stealing but if she is well paid as regards the acting job she wouldn't do that.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yetunde could be under spell...had it be she had no job. I would have said that circunstances prompted her stealing act. But she has a job. And a very lucrative one. So there must some evil drummers at the corner...but I believe God will deliver her. Regard the action of the acting guild yoruba chapter, its inhuman. We ought to help those in trouble out of it. Not creating a way for the trouble to accumulate. Obviously, without a job, she would graduate from petty stealing to armrobbery. So the so called group in the yoruba movie acted inhumanly and unwisely.
