Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has doled out cash gifts totalling N15.6 million to different categories of workers who attended the annual inter-faith prayer service held at Car Park of the Governor’s Office heralding the New Year.
Happy at the conduct of the civil servants, their proper dressing, as well as their dedication and commitment to duty in the past year.
Ajimobi said they deserved to be compensated....
.....Consequently, he announced the donation of N10 million to all the civil servants who turned up for the prayer service, while all the workers of the State Water Corporation were given N5 million for beating the time frame given to them to complete the rehabilitation of the Asejire Waterworks abandoned about 17 years ago.
Also, Mrs. Margaret Olatoun Oluwafemi of the State Printing Press and other staff of the corporation were rewarded with the sum of N250,000 each for the quality of the printing of the programme for the prayer service.
Another civil servant, Mr. Oyelola Okunlola, of the Office of the Surveyor-General of the State got the sum of N100, 000 for appearing well-dressed at the occasion...LOL
The governor, who said that all the donations were from his personal purse, emphasized his knack for quality, stressing the need for civil servants to always settle for the best.
He said, “I am a man of quality. So I urge you never to settle for less but to always have positive mental attitude towards service. Not only that, you must also inculcate it into your children.”
On salary review, Governor Ajimobi disclosed that a committee would be constituted this month to fashion out a wage that would be acceptable to the generality of the workers.
Governor Ajimobi, however, stressed the need for the workers to redouble their efforts towards improving on the internally-generated revenue of the state.
In their sermons, Dr. Segun Olatunji, a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and Sheikh Ahmad Rufai, the Chief Imam of Government House Mosque, commended the commitment and dedication of the civil servants, urging them to continue to reciprocate government’s gesture by renewing their cooperation and support to the government.
They also called for unity among members of the political class to ensure the success of the Ajimobi administration and for the state to continue to move forward.culled
*HIAN!
Well, I hope he remembers that schools in his state needs attention. Most schools are in bad shape, no basic facilities like toilets, library and science laboratories. No chairs and tables for teachers and students. All this cash he is wasting will go a long way to refurbish five schools.

ReplyDeleteHe's rich enough. He was wealthy before he became governor. My former boss used to share cash to us when profitability exceeds target.
ReplyDeleteAs long as the governor is giving from his purse, there's nothing wrong in boosting the morale of your staff.
Good gesture.

ReplyDeleteIf you have ever been to the secretariat in Ibadan you will see how some of the civil servants dresses like masqurade to work. Ibadan is my village that I love so much, to have a lil bit of city in it. YES more work are needed; but believe me the governor dey try o! Can you imagine working on the same project for 17yrears?
Last time I went visiting I forgot all about mosquitoes till I landed in Lagos. When I got to my village-city i was amazed; NO MOSQUITO O!!!!!!!!!!!!! (if u say na lie then u must live in a gutter).
We all pray for Christmas bonus and for God to remember us thru devine intervention and God don butter these people's bread o! Hope this motivates all to work hard and attend every so called useless office function, you never know when you will be rewarded
Foolish man, is dat how he waste my state money, personal money indeed! If he can display dis publicly imagine how much he doles out privately. Mtcheeew!
ReplyDeleteHIAN too much money
ReplyDeleteWhat is so wrong with a governor appreciating hard work and diligence? And why is it so hard for people for people to believe that he took the money from his pocket? Even if he didn't I don't see how spending 15m from the state allocation to serve as an incentive for civil servants to work harder is a crime not all of the state allocation must be spent refurbishing schools. Atleast he didn't use it for himself. Nigerians can never be pleased HIAN!
ReplyDeleteWhat is so wrong with what he did? For those of you who are talking about performance, get your facts right before you display your ignorance. All you have to do is come to Ibadan and Ajimobi's work speaks for him.
ReplyDeleteAs in Ibadan babes be like this(looool), the Gov. should focus on developmental programmes abeggi...oga /madam what's up with Ibadan??? do we now have plenty bridges there(lol)? ll come & see our good old Ibadan. meanwhile, uncle ladoja is still our man.
