Am sending this email to sensitize as well as see if other women are experiencing this.
My friend has been receiving mysterious calls almost every day for the past 6 years. The call comes through, when she picks up, she hears a man moaning and making sexual sounds.....
he also sends her highly perverse texts. Anytime she blocks the number, another number starts calling. She has reported to the network but there hasnt been any help.
This is big because it can ruin a relationship and its quite traumatic and bothersome. Her phone line is a business line so changing her number seems quite impossible. When she put the numbers on tru caller, she saw that some other people had the numbers saved as 'who' indicating that some other people are experiencing same. The phone numbers she's been receiving calls from are 07064649209,08135092997,080697

ReplyDeleteYes, an ex used to do that rubbish with me. He uses my voice to wank, lol. But really, one day, I summoned the courage to call him out. I didn't know it was him at first o, cos i kept blocking the line and having others call him. Sha, long and short of the story, I called him with his line and told him that i have reported him to the cops (where i see cops report to?), i told him that i know its him and that i will go and report him to his parents and mine. He apologized, said he was doing it because i don't pick his calls (lmao). He stopped and i have been checking on him every once in a while, guess he just misses me (my guess tho)

DeleteI had similar experience on whatsApp. I checked out d guys face, told him politely that I don't know him- that he should stop bothering me. He kept on, then I blocked. Then he used another number with a females face- I knew it was him. Then he used yet another number with yet another female's face. I have them all saved up. Now I notice he interchanges the faces for the 3 numbers. I'm tempted to unblock him and see if he'd pester me again. OR, if I as much as have him pester me through another number, I will paste all the photos he uses on facebook so people can identify. The girls could be innocent but at least they'll know they have an impersonator. From the pics, I guess the girls are based in calabar.

DeleteI had that experience some years ago. I was so anoying. The call will keep calling my name while moaning.... I will ask who the person is but the only respond I get is serious moan.. Hmm it got so serious and mine was that he calls with a private number all the time. And the call mostly comes at night. The last time I heard from the caller was when I lashed him with insults and curse.

It was so bad that the guy calls up to 6 times a day, it was someone that knew me because he kept describing my physical features while moaning. I started threatening him that my uncle was a soldier and we will fish him out , he didn't stop. It was when u started crying and threatening to report him to God that he stopped. ReplyDeleteOtherwise, that number has to be traced and barred by the telecommunication network.
The only option I may suggest since the network provider hasn't been able to trace n bar the line, (incompetence mtchew) is to stop picking any number that isn't saved....and deleting the text messages as soon as they come in. Tell your spouse about it as well.
Let's hope the stalker will get tired and go away.....
Its for real oh,mine was international numbers texting,if I blocked d line the person will start using another line it got worst dat I had to let my husband know so as not to stumbled on it one day nd caused prblm for us,later on mtn blocked d line nd I haven't stress my self to find out why.

My boyfriend experienced this for a while last year, but from international numbers. The call comes through and immediately moans and groans are heard and this goes on till the line cuts. This lasted for a while and he hasn't complained since. I remember asking if put up the number on any social site, maybe your friend did or someone she knows is playing a silly game and won't grow up

ReplyDeleteStella it happens. There is one number that calls me like that too. This started when I got my first phone from my mum in 2005 after I left secondary school. Mine is that the person won't even talk. No matter how many times I say hello, the person won't say anything. Sometimes I will pick the call and not say a thing too just to waste his airtime and piss him off too but the person kept calling back. I blocked the number and he changed to another number. I had to change my number because of this person sometime in 2007 but the person somehow still got my new number after some months and kept calling. It was only once that the person, a guy, spoke to me and said I should give the phone to my husband Joseph, that he wants to talk to my husband.
ReplyDeleteHa! As at then, I have not even married or met my husband, and till date I don't know any Joseph. I told him he is calling the wrong person that I wasn't married then and that I don't know any Joseph. He still kept calling me.
I have learned not to pick his calls no matter how many times he calls and it seems to be working cos the person now calls like once ot twice a week, sometimes he won't even call for like 2 weeks to 1 month at a stretch.
When I initially stopped picking his calls some years back, he got mad and I would get like 40 missed calls from him in one day,LOL. It's so bad that evry1 around me knows about this my mystery caller and they sometimes ask me if he still calls. My friends, ex coursemates and relatives have tried calling him to know what his problem is but he won't say any reasonable thing to them.
I have stopped bothering myself about that lunatic since. Anytime he remembers to call these days,I ignore his calls as usual and just laugh it off.
The poster should stop picking his calls. Just ignore his calls no matter how many times he calls. The person, who ever he is will get tired and stop calling you with time. It's working for me.
Next time, just answer and press the mute button-so he/she cant hear your conversation.

We don't have an outlet to talk about our needs and grievances. So people just call random numbers to act out their fantasies. I worked in telecoms and I felt for call centre colleagues. In Unilag, there was a guy who'd mask his face and masturbate to the women in Tinubu hall. There are crazy people in this country. A lot of them do not realise they have a psychological disorder. Yelling adds to his excitement. That's the reason you keep getting the calls. You react by yelling or calling him names. Stop reacting. Hang up or leave the phone in front of something noisy like a gen or fan. But continue blocking the calls and texts. He'll stop calling. Don't let such inconsequential things worry you. There are crazy people around.

I neva hear the phone ring, my phone suddenly comes off as "hanging" and when it frees up, I seee a missed call notification from the unknown number. This happens repeatedly throughout the day and has bn going on for a while. Confused

Its real ooooo. Yes it is. We have very severe crazy peeps in dis country. It happened to me in 2009 after I just got married. And d idiot calls only at night. Thank God my hubby was hardly at home at night cos of d nature if his work. Insults didn't work for d animal ooo. My dear I even thot of thrashing my line, but it was far more valuable dan d fool. I started ignoring d person instead if saying hello hello hello hello. Il just ihnore and leave d person tomisbehave. He obviously noticed i wasnt bothered anymore(even though I was) AND TO GOD B D GLORY, D ANIMAL OR BEAST OR WHOEVA STOPPED!
ReplyDeleteThis has happened to me,but the person hid his no,kept calling and moaning always and then I didn't have a phone so it was my mum's fone I gave out to my friends,i was so scared,what if my mum picked the call,i mad it a point of duty to always be with my mum's phone it was very serious!!! Thank God she allowed me be with her phone 24hours and she never mistakenly picked the calls cos I would have been dead by now *phew* stupid guys!

ReplyDeleteSomething similar happened, mine wasn't sexual tho. Just a stranger constantly calling and it bugged me. I went on my knees and reported the caller to my Lord Jesus as I felt stalked and didn't know what else to do. The next thing I know, he calls and apologise, begging me to stop it and promising never to do it again. Haven't had any such experience ever since. When God fights, He fights to the finish and give utter victory. Good thing is He's interested in our wholesome living....everything about us interests him.

It's on andriod play store and also available for blackberry users though not on there app world but u can get it from google or try this link... it has happened to me severally but theres this 1 i can never 4get.i used to be really naive.maybe it was because i went to all girls secondary school.i got my first bf in 100l.. there was a chic that was always calling with a private number.always giving me info about my bf and his ex.even details on their meeting during the holidays.i asked why she was doing that and she said it was because she likes me.after a year i found out it was the handiwork of the ex girlfriend.i fell into the trap.i found out when it was already too late.

Last year a useless number was calling me saying all sort of rubbish,how he has seen my nakedness n describing how my body looked like, dt he cnt rest unless he v sex with me. ReplyDeletestella this is called nuisance calls. its not an individual making these calls. its machines normally in europe. they check the number ranges in nigeria and other african countries and the machines randomly select numbers to call. they also roam on nigerian numbers. this is why you cant block the lines. they flood the gateway with these calls. you can contact NCC to lodge a complaint so they can address it from the gateway

DeleteI've had such experience. the person calls at night. i always suspected my neighbor. what i did then was once the call comes in and fortunately i'm always watching a movie when he calls, i put the phone right in front of the speaker. I don't even bother with saying hello. I gladly press the green button and place it strategically there. at the end, i'll say i had the last laugh cos only God knows how the perv felt when the sound from the tv blasts his ear. for me it was hilarious. it's not someone that told him to quit calling.

Like he can give me 50 missed calls if I don't pick. I tried finding out who it was but failed, my boyfriend was soo upset bout it. I travelled for 3 months nd he hasn't called me since den. Guess he tot I had changed my line. Oh well glad it stopped cause it was sooo annoying nd frustrating...

ReplyDeletewe had this weird experience....i and my big sis. and coincidentally, it happened to both of us at the same time.a particular number calls her everyday(the silly caller just breathes heavily) while another calls me everyday without saying a word. wasting the credit by answering the call and not talking didnt work.SO we distributed the phone numbers amngst us( i come from a big family(8) plus tons of cousins staying with us, all teenagers...to flash the numbers at their own convenience. omo see gobe, it was like a fun game. we were all mostly in secondary schools then with die-hard Nokia battery phones and social media wasnt in vogue then.we flashed with hidden numbers in the morning,noon, night, midnight, early morning.and we wont cut till you pick ooo.finally they stopped calling us(i guess they now had a problem of their own to solve) and eventually changed their numbers as we didnt stop calling!
