 Yvonne loves the beach side because it makes her appreciate God more..so its no wonder she celebrated her 28th birthday which held on Tuesday November 12,2013 at the beach with friends like Damilola Adegbite, Chris Attoh, Van Vicker, Majid Michel, Eddie Watson, Pascal Amanfo, Deborah Vanessa and James Gardiner et al.....Yvonne Nelson fine sha!

    Anyway, this is totally off topic. I want to pay my tithe to that Emmanuel guy Stella did a post about sometime ago but my friend says its wrong, hubby says its okay and I think its okay but my friend really backed hers up with bible quotations. What do you think?

      Its totally ok, my priest once sed it in church dat he tells dome ppl to use deir tithe and pay hospital bills 4 ppl, haba its totally ok

      Charity is charity, tithe is tithe. Both are different. Your tithe belongs to God, send it to your local church where you are spiritually fed.
      If you wanna help this guy, help him as charity work. Your tithe is not yours it's God's and He told you how to pay it. Abraham paid tithe to God, in Malachi, God told us to bring our youths to His house.

    Mrs D, Wetin concern you with d guy thing abi ur husby own no do you??? Better comot eye there o......as per ur question, it's wrong to take ur tithe elsewhere but ur local church. It's a command....it's ok to give alms to the needy but it cannot take the place of tithe.

    U don't pay ur tithe to a person,u take ur tithe to the church where u are blessed wiv the word of God.I used to think it was cool to give my tithe to the poor and needy until after attending a bible institute I understood the difference in tithes,offerings,sacrifices and then helping the needy.u could give the Emmanuel guy the money,but that's helping the needy,and den just pray to God to help u pay the tithe u defaulted in.

    People who have been sold to tithing. If only you can interpret all those Bible verses properly. You can pay it to Emmanuel. God will bless you big time. Wide Eyed is your exposure limited? It's a flimsy beach dress to go with a swim suit. It is for people like Damilola whose bodies aren't so fine to show without it.

    I do not normally comment but i just have to on this. You are not wrong. However do not use the word PAY as you are not owing anybody. See it as giving. God loves a cheerful giver not "Payer".
    Your friend has no scripture to back anything.

    Mrs D. Please use what you call tithe to help the needy. Jesus says whatever you do to the least of my brothers you do unto me. Those quoting Mal 3:10 should also read chapters 1&2 and get the message. After that they can read Deut. through and through. The needy needs it more today. Madam let nobody deceive about Tithes. You can give your church 10% of your income as a free will giving not because you are compelled to tithe. Jesus has fulfilled the LAW of which tithe is a part of about 613 ordinance given to the children of Israel. There is no curse if you do not tithe neither will special blessings follow you for Tithing. What brings blessings are Obedience, giving, Charity and gratitude.

    forexpro: thank you< God bless u for that comment! the whole of the Christian world are now totally sold on tithing! even the orthodox churches that didnt practice it in the days of my grandfathers dont nw want to be left out....

    Christ is the fulfillment of the law. the christian law of giving is well spelt in the new testament...not in malachi. u give cheerfully, not with compulsion, not out of necessity for God loves a cheerful giver..thats the new testament..

    u give to the 'church' on the first day of the week during the worship service called the collection of the saints..1cor 16

    this reminds of the words of Jesus in Matt 15:4-6..pls read it..
    the Pharisees taught the Jews that they could evade the cardinal principle of God relating to honouring theirs parents by telling them that what they have is "corban" that is "devoted to God"...

    do not be misled..we are Christians, Jesus said that the weightier matters are faith, mercy and righteousness... Christ's instruction on taking care of your preacher is found in the words of paul, the Apostle in Gal 6 v 6, no mention of giving him 10% of your earning...
    not that God wont accept it if u do...'but not as a necessity'- 2 Cor 9:7..that's the grace of the new testament!

    you can use your gift for the needy if that is what your heart compels.God accepts it! pls study the word! you'll be surpised at the gap between what the word of God actually says and what the pastors say
