Hon Abdullahi helping one of the kids wear the sandal
The Katsina State Minority Leader in the state house of assembly, Hon Abdullahi Mahuta shares this touching story
''After the Sallah break, my two children, who I transferred to a public school in Katsina, said they would not go back to school with their canvas and sandal shoes. They insisted that they would only be wearing bathroom slippers to school because all their friends in the school are using same to school and that some come to school without shoes . Initially I told their mother to allow them to use the sleepers, but my little daughter advised: "Father, please buy
sandals for all the pupils in the school so that my brothers can also wear sandals". I thought I could not buy sandals for all the pupils in that school. I called the headmaster and asked him the number of students in the school. He told me they are about 800. After a rough calculation, I realized that it will cost about N230,000 only to buy a pair of sandals and white soaks for every child in the school.
Alhamdulillah! Yesterday, by the will of Allah, I bought and distributed the sandals for all the 800 children in the school. And today we are also in sha Allah, we are going to distribute for all the students of another primary school at Tsamiya mai Lamba village, at Gora ward in Malumfashi LGA.
Just imagine, if only the 34 members of KTHA, 34 LG chairmen and the about 40 commissioners and SAs will do the same, over 100,000 pupils would be saved from the problems of (Sanyi, Kaya da kusoshin da ka iya ji ma yara ciwo) meaning thorns and cracked legs
I therefore call on you the people to insist that all public office holders enroll their children into public schools to be friends, help, give hope and play together with the children of the poor. among us.''
*wow..children are angels indeed and i am glad you listened to yours sir!
Dat what we want to see in our politcian. God bless u sir. Zainab
ReplyDeleteGood but that is not the solution. The solution is enacting laws that will give these children the opportunity to have a good and quality education irrespective of who is in Government. If it bothered him so much why not make laws that will make the Government provide school Uniforms and supplies for every pupil.
ReplyDeleteAmarachukwu please shutup..he did d little he can do nd called on others to help awt.fool

ReplyDeleteStarting from Goodluck. His 2 overfed kids should be transferred to a public school. Hahaha. Joke of the century.
Imagine if the drug addict kids of all these corrupt leaders were in public Universities, ASUU strike won't be entering its 5th month.
Wao! Datz really nice of him. I wish we had more people like him in d government.
ReplyDeleteImagine! Not even up to 250k. Even me fit pay that one.
ReplyDeleteThe masses really don't need much to be happy.
If u can, y not do it. U don't have to be a politician to help d needy
Delete2015 things...I'm not fooled,but God bless u anyways.
ReplyDeleteTank u sir,God bless d heart of ur caring kids
ReplyDeleteLeadership by example - God bless him!!!
ReplyDeleteThat can only happen in the north, some northern elites are very humble unlike the babas we have in the south
ReplyDeleteI had goose bumps reading this story. What a way to go. God bless u hon Abdullahi
ReplyDeleteIf only half of political offices holders can do this then we would have a better Nigeria. God bless u Hon Abdullahi and God bless ur children.
ReplyDeleteAya Okanlomo
This is awesome, how many politicians can do this,God bless you sir and it's well with your children, let our leaders learn from this...Abebi
ReplyDeletesorry, but I find this hard to believe, fine, he may have bought sandals for the children, but I don't believe his own children attend that school.
ReplyDeleteIf the government had decided to take this up. You would have heard that it cost over one million naira to buy shoes and socks for each school.
ReplyDeleteI wish there was a law that prevents all Public Office Holders from sending their children abroad to school.
ReplyDeleteGOD bless this man nd his family. Stella, please, u need to work on ur spelling. Several mistakes.

ReplyDeleteBuying them sandals means what?whats going to happen if the pair gets bad?
ReplyDeletePls they should stop acting for the cameras and get real!
he is a political office holder not an ordinary citizen.if he Truely cares,he can as well consult his colleagues to improvise how to improve the living standard of these children's parents, provide them a means of livelihood, with that they can be able to take care of these kids and buy them other important things they need beyond sandals!(cos I bet these children have other major needs)
All I see is a politically motivated act.#not interested #
No matter how corruption-free the country is,no matter how good d economy is,many people will still be poor...so I don't agree with ur theory
DeleteSo are u implying of All the 800 children in that sch,ALL their parents are destined to be poor even if given opportunities to make something?its not possible!
DeleteBtw nobody is talking about being rich here,we are talking about have basic amenities for at least comfortable survival, and for them to lack common 250naira slippers,it means they are in almost total lack!so pls!
If dys iz nt jst sum political stunt, dn God bless his kind heart. Queen bee rome wasn't built in a day. He might nt ve done tinz d way u feel it shld go buh hw many politicians really do? Dys man frm d kindness of his heart bought doz sandals, and out of humility snt his kids to dah skul. If we had more of his type in nigeria lyf wuld ve been beta. If kids of top politicians were to mingle and habit wiv d poor, do u tink doz politicians wuld neglect d public sector as much as dy do? Plz let learn to appreciate even d smallest of tinz.
DeleteSo we still ve leaders like this? God bless u n ur kids. Let no one cum n say its a propaganda o.
ReplyDeleteThis is Commendable.Hope others will learn from this.Vanity upon Vanity
ReplyDeleteThat's a Leader worthy of emulation. His kids will definetely study abroad for their tertiary education to make up for the poor foundation
ReplyDeleteMsteeeew rubbish,wats d big deal
ReplyDeleteTo be sincere, Hausa people are very kind and humble. I wish God can send them a messiah who will let them know that killing in the name of God does not please Him.
ReplyDeleteThose dat kill in d name of GoD r infidels cos Islaam doesn't preach killing
DeleteThe richest man in Borno State make about 4 billion naira monthly from oil and gas and the monthly allocation of that state is just 3.5 billion naira. That implies that this fellow can conviniently contruct roads, feed the poor, build utra-modern hospitals, schools, industries to employ the jobless youths who call themselves BOKO HARAM. We mostn't leave everything in the hands of the government. The government cannot solve all our problems, but we can do so much if we just do our own little part just like this honourable man. May God bless you sir!
ReplyDeleteGOD BLESS NIGERIA, LONG LIVE THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC.

ReplyDeleteall you pessimist who will never see anything good in any situation we really dont care what you believe....whether its fake or, or he is doing it for elections oh or you dont believe his children attend that school the reality is that he bought sandals for those kids and for the period while the sandals last their feet will be protected......the story teaches that we can make a difference if we just act. And all you making negative comments what have you done in your own little way to make this country a better place today? if you keep insulting public officers for ruining this country and you do not make a difference in your immediate environment then you are guilty as charged.......so do us a favour and SHUT UP.....
ReplyDeleteYou Stupid!!! Look around you..no good roads, no electricity, no clean water, no good health care. Nigeria budget every year passed two European Union. Norway is one, 4get the second. Abeg Nigeria deg go backwards. I think you one of them. SHUT UP BIG DUMMY.

ReplyDeleteThe heart of Christ in a muslim- why won't he make heaven then?
ReplyDeleteThe Lord summed up His greatest commandment in Two- 1) Love God above all things 2) Love thy neighbour as thyself.
God bless you and may salvation be yours.
Diary of dido......he cannot make heaven because he is not born again......the bible says except a man be born again he will not see the kingdom of God...even if you go to church everyday and give charity you must be born again........while we appreciate his good deeds pls dont come here and misinterprete Gods word, he has set a standard and a criteria for heaven....
ReplyDeleteA VERY SWEET STORY *crying*
