Joyful Joy Foundation Launches in Lagos Nigeria!

Osas Ighodaro and seyi

The Joyful Joy Foundation is an NGO registered in both the US and Nigeria.  It was founded in honour of Joy Ighodaro, sister to Osas Ighodaro, who was with child and contracted malaria during a trip to Nigeria in 2006 and tragically two lives vanished. Osas became very passionate and pro-active with elevating the platform of malaria eradication and dedicates much of her time and energy towards awareness initiatives and fundraising.

A trip to Nigeria in 2011 opened Osas' eyes to the plight of those living in distressed communities.  It was then, along with Sioux Greaux that a pledge was made to create Joyful Joy, to honor the lives of those gone too soon and to Spread More Joy into the lives of those who need it most. No one should have to bury a loved one because of a disease that is treatable and preventable. None should have to go without food and the basic necessities to live a healthy life.

Slightly beyond a year after launching in the United States, the Joyful Joy Foundation launched right here in Nigeria on October, 27, 2013 at the Avenue Suites, Tiamiyu Savage, Victoria Island Lagos.  Joyful Joy enjoyed a successful event.  A ton of celebrities and corporate executives showed up to lend their support and everyone had a good time, learned more about malaria and the work Joyful Joy is doing to support the eradication of the disease.

Founded in 2012 by Osas Ighodaro and Co-founder Sioux Greaux,Joyful Joy supports the push for a healthier and Malaria-free Africa.  Itsalleviation strategy to positively impact communities involves offering programs focused on health and wellness, ending hunger, preventable disease and providing economic development opportunities.

The Launch was hosted by Gbenro Ajibade from Tinsel and VimbaiMutinhiri of Africa Magic's StarGist.  Featured performances included: Tee Y Mix & former Project Fame contestant Ella, Irawo crooner Seyi Shay, Comedian Elenu, and an amazing African Dance by GongBeat Productions. Music was  provided by the prolific D.J Xclusive.

The Joyful Joy Foundation is anchored in a push to Spread More Joy, Healthy Living and Giving Back to Communities. Support this worthy cause today!

  5. Nowadays, actresses and TV presenters want to own NGO's so that they can use it to UP their runs. They will collect 2million from a mugu then use only 50k out of the money for the so called foundation. Then they will go to Dubai, shop, show us pictures saying 'hardwork pays' or 'work hard, ball hard'. Mtcheeeeew.

    1. True. They use the NGOs/charities to access their targets & when they approach the oga in their shortest skirts or their tightest pants they act surprised when the man can't focus on their face & say "sir I don't do this..." then proceed to start an affair with him & meeting other rich men through him while passing on the original mugu to their ashewo friends. Beauty queens have a similar hustle. So do many artistes.
