CLARA CHIME Says Hubby Falsified Her Health Report...Says She Is depressed Not Mad...

Clara Chime, the wife of Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State, has accused members of the National Human Rights Commission of accepting a bribe from her husband to write a misleading report about her illegal detention in Government House, Enugu, at her husband’s instruction.

Yesterday, the executive secretary of the commission, Bem Angwe, had visited the Enugu State Government House with other members to investigate the alleged forcible detention of Ms. Chime.

The case of Ms. Clara Chime reported detention stirred widespread national and international attention when Sahara Reporters and other media reported last week that she had hired a Nigerian attorney, Femi Falana, to file a lawsuit on her behalf to secure her freedom from what she described as forcible confinement and imprisonment in Government House, Enugu.
The governor reportedly told members of the human rights commission that his wife had to be confined in order to curtail her violent tendencies. He further alleged that that his wife may have brought in some “ritualists” into the governor’s official residence to perform some diabolic acts during his absence.
In an interim report released today and published on its website, the commission stated that the issue was a disagreement between the governor and his wife “over the procedure for the treatment of her health challenges, which border on occasional hallucinations and depression.”
The commission’s report confirmed that Ms. Chime had for the past two weeks been confined to her apartment on medical advice for purposes of medical maintenance and security, adding that the governor’s wife admitted that she was in possession and control of keys to her apartment. Mr. Angwe added that the commission’s five-person team of investigators had inspected the apartment.
But in an angry reaction to the commission’s report, Ms. Chime accused its members of accepting a bribe from the governor in order to portray her as mentally disturbed, according to a source close to her.

In an email to a close confidant, she wrote

“What you read in the newspaper is a complete farce and fabrication,” adding, “The truth is that I am severely depressed because of the inhuman suffering and atrocious conditions I have been subjected to for some years now.” She said that she had “been bearing the burden hoping that this ordeal would come to an end somehow but the end seems endless, hence my crying out.”

Ms. Chime described her husband’s reported “protection” of her as “all window dressing.” She stated that she was “only suffering from Depression because of all that I have been subjected to,” adding, “I am not mad as he seems to convey. There is no family history of serious mental illness in my family and would challenge him by bringing an independent Psychiatrist to assess or evaluate my mental state to prove my point''

*I don't know what to believe anymore.Chime Sullivan please if your wife feels trapped in your house and wants to be free, then let her go if you love her...Despite all your denials there are still too many reports indicating she is trapped there.let her go....let her go.

God is watching you people, this woman needs serious therapy, not medication to make her drowsy and weak!
A team of doctors should be sent to evaluate the situation without the governor in the room..the woman might probably tell her story directly.

  6. This lady needs to leave her environment asap! Nah by force? Haba. Let her go....she needs to clear her head. I understand depression cos i have been through it. I stayed in America for 6months with my family! By the time i came back to my home, my brain don cool down. Even my husband was happy to have me back looking my old self. We sorted our problems and got rid of our stumbling blocks. So Chime, Clara needs to clear her head, period.

  10. Women folk please cry and release Clara from Sullivan Chime, let them interview her alone without her husband been present, Each time they're interviewing her, the husband and her family and his family must always be there why? She is a full grown woman who can answer for herself, they should stay away from her let her talk to the Human right organisation alone. There must be a reason why her husband doesn't want to release her. How can a man keep mistresses her and there and subject his wife to this type of torture? I can see Clara's family's longer throat for money is blinding their eyes, Women folk, let's pray ,shout, move and rescue our own, she's been crying and calling for help. Let us leave judging her or condemning her for now the mistake has been made, let's look for a way out. Sullivan release Clara ooooo

  11. All she needs is therapy; her mental state has to be sorted to calm her down. The treatment would take a long while or might even be forever. Depression is a disease on its on and has to be delicately treated. He should let her go and can be a financier for her treatment but from a distance.

  12. Sullivan, Just let this woman go. Dont send her anywhere. Just call her family members to come and take their daughter. If she ends up on the street, na dem sabi. Haba. All this drama is too much. Everybody knows she is mad. She has Bipolar disorder and it became worse after giving birth (Post portum). Anybody that insults me for my opinion...Otu nne gi there!!!!

  13. Let her go to where? To wander the streets? Then you all will come back and accuse the governor. Stella, if you are ill, won't you stay with your husband there and avail yourself the medical services he provides?

The woman is really not mentally okay. See her pattern of accusing everyone of collecting bribe. An independent, neutral body I.e the National Human Rights Commission have inspected her apartment and were satisfied she's not being maltreated. I'm yet to see a mad person who admits he/she is really mad.

I hope all those frequenting ritualists can see the end results.

What exactly do u know abt being 'maltreated'???? A lot of pple out Dere r so quick to use material possession or wealth as a yardstick for measuring happiness. See ehn deres sumtin called 'emotional abuse' and its even worse dan material/physical stress. Heartache kills faster dan headache or hunger. To all dose dat have peace of mind even if dier spouse isn't all dat rich, I congratulate you. Its far better Dan vice versa.

  22. I've actually suffered from severe depression- which I only discovered quite recently, because I availed myself to a neuro-psychiatrist to find out why I'd been battling insomnia for what can be two years now- I realised I had been depressed for a very long time.
Depression can even kill people because they try to manage it themselves without knowing that they actually are.
    It manifests itself via several ways;
    1) Lack of sleep (insomnia)
    2) Too much sleep
    3) Disinterest in things that used to interest you
    4) Overeating
    5) Under-eating( anorexia)
    6) Bulimia (eating and throwing up)
    7) Frustration- usu over very simple things that make them lash out esp to people around them- loved ones, friends, family
    8) Becoming anti-social
    9) Forgetfulness (you find that you forget things easily- which is frustrating for a professional)
    10) Drinking
    11) Smoking
    12) Some people self-medicate with sleeping pills
    13) Loss of job
    14) Lethargy
    15) Being too emotional- the propensity to cry when watching movie scenes that, though moving, won't necessarily move others to tears
    16) Irritability
    17) Short temperdness.
The list of things one could feel is endless.
I had to actually do a research on it cause I was curious when I was told- he went through my history and pegged the depression to have started from my University days and explained the patterns I adopted to manage it without knowing.
Even something as simple as, "being overly nice"- was pegged to the depression playing out.
However- na wetin you confess for mouth, na Im you go suffer.
I read a lot and do a lot of positive self affirmations. Most of it are Word based- I speak God's Word into my life and prophesy but, I have to say- I did notice a decided drag in my entire visage from 2011- my service days- I served in Owerri and lived with family friends.
I had never been with people like that and I loathed Owerri to the core- the myopia, the shallow mindedness, I constantly felt claustraphobic and very sad.
Work was a drag too, everybody was just speaking ibo up and down- you must know I am ibo, and speak it very well too but even when I did, there was an "unspoken" disdain or amusement that I met with- generally, I felt "humbled".
Where I lived, my aunt wouldn't let me wear trousers and I couldn't entertain nor visit friends.
My very fashionable sense of style just totally died- and I didn't care again.
I stopped making up even. My younger sister, upon seeing me once when I'd came home, was alarmed and extremely worried.
She said people who hadn't stayed in Owerri either got depressed or got wild.
    Summary: she is depressed.
But she can and will overcome it- only, she needs to leave that place and FAST.
All that talk about juju and what nots are rubbish.
She should leave or she might get suicidal.
That's one of the indications too.
