Chaos On Lekki Expressway As Accident Kills Children

This accident scene is from the one that happened this morning and the road block is still on......The Lekki expressway and its axis is blocked because a trailer lost control and killed school pupils.
Some say three children and some say its more than three,no one can ascertain for sure but the mother of three of the kids is said to be in a hysterical state.Onlookers say the kids didn't come easy for both parents.

The rioters were chanting angry songs of vengeance.
A local government chairman arrived the scene and tried to calm the crowd all to no avail.
There is a police barricade all the way from chevron to VGC and the traffic situation is unimaginable.

Governor Fashola is wanted at the scene Urgently before the situation gets out of hand.
RIP to the little children who woke up this morning without an inkling of what would befall them.

May God dry their mother's tears....I am deeply sad.

  2. Stella it's really chaotic over here. I can even see some of it from my window. There's a bit of a riot and they've blocked the road. They said they won't let up till Fashola comes here himself and he has to start constructing a over-head bridge here today otherwise the road will remain blocked. The traffic is moving a little bit now sha. I don't even know what to say about the loss of those innocent children. It's a very terrible thing. I wonder where their parents will start from now. May their gentle souls rest in peace.

  9. The accident happened at exactly 8.30am saw it as it happened... its quite sad. the government and LCC are too blame but the large portion of the blame goes to the parents! I don't want to know the kind of job you do that you can't drop your children in school! This happened in a twinkle of an eye the children were just standing @ the busstop when the trailer crushed them. If their mum was taking them to school they won't have been killed this morning! Am really angry @ the woman's effrontery to be crying abt! You allowed 3kids under 10 out unsupervised! It's insane! Even if there was an overhead bridge @ ikota school this morning those kids would have still died. RIP Lil ones!

    1. Shut up! D children wouldn't have died if their parents were at d bus stop with them? Even if their grandmother was also there, n d trailer lost control at d bus stop, d parents would have shielded their children with their bodies, n still not die? D things we say most times!!!

    4. May their souls RIP. If it happened at a bus stop, then LCC and Fashola are not to blame cos people still cross expressways at places where pedestrian bridges are even provided , an example is Ikorodu road. This is probably a case of brake failure or overspeeding which could hav happened anywhere. We still hav a long way to go in Nigeria in regards to the use of our roads. There just hav to b speed limits equipments that capture people that overspeed and prosecuted. Then there are so many bad trucks/cars which will definitely not pass MOT tests or not road worthy and are still allowed to ply our roads. I get so scared when I see these very bad and old 1970s flat bed trucks that carry containers,But it's unfortunate that as some Lastma officials or FRSC collect bribes, people on the other hand beat up some Lastma/FRSC officials when they r trying to arrest these trucks/motorists. Nigeria is just a confused and crazy country where there is no law. Everyone needs to b penalised for his/her offences, then everyone will behave but unfortunately, bribery and corruption is killing the police and judiciary system.Moreso, all these children need supervision by parents/guardians. May the lord deliver us in Niger o. God bless

    5. Anon 4.25pm seems you are stupid! Co's you obviously didn't get my msg.. kids been kids will play on the road, if they were with an adult, the adult would have acted fast and cleared them out of harm's way in time. We are too busy running after money to fend for our kids. May God be with us all

    6. Building a pedestrian bridge is not a problem. People don't use these bridges. There is one at Jakande Lekki, if u see anything on that bridge, its a lizard. I see people running like mad crossing the expressway right under the pedestrian bridge. People don't value their lives in this country. Its sad. Sometime I see kids of 4 or 5yrs trying to cross the express, coming from school. The questions is ' where are the parents'. Nigeria has failed. Woefully.

  14. This morning I was lamenting cus someone tried to confuse me me out of my money, then I saw a bike man on the floor, apparently wounded and surrounded by people trying to see if they could revive him,and the Holyspirit simply asked me "what was it u were complaining about again?",I promptly kept my mouth shut and resolved my issue quietly.the person sayn the mother let her kids go to school unsupervised, pls just thank God for ur life and who u are and don't be a smart Alec, becus u know what? Even in the playground @ school, accidents happen.right in a peoples homes accidents happen...Just thank God for ur life and don't make comments about sm1 else's.Rip to those little children.

  16. May the kids RIP. Lekki expressway is just like Apapa Oshodi expressway. Why would a company like LCC not put pedestrian bridges on all the major bus stops. They are more interested in collecting toll gate money. If it were Julius Berger, the difference would be clear. Please LCC or should I say Governor Fashola, please we lekki residents are pleading, we need pedestrian bridges for the masses. I drive my car on this road everyday and I feel for those crossing especially the nursing mothers carrying their babies and pregnant women not to talk of children too. And now look at what has happened today. It is sad.

    1. Yes more pedestrian bridges, but they were not crossing but standing at a bus stop, explained by an eye witness. Am sure It's just a case of overspeeding/brake failure/rough driving or probably the driver was drunk.
