The gold thief

Hello Stella,
I am a fan and regular reader of your blog and I need your assistance please.
My name is Temitope owner of Eternal circles ventures a retail shop of 18kt gold wedding and engagement rings located at Omole-ikeja, a lady stole a lot of our stock on Saturday November 9,2013 and we have her on CCTV surveillance.
I know that through your medium we can identify this lady and bring her to justice.

Please help broadcast her picture as she made away with goods worth millions of naira and I believe your blog will be of great assistance to us.

The case is already at SARS ikeja and we were encouraged to use social media to nab her.
Thank you.
Temitope

ADDENDUM -  there is a prize of N50,000 naira for anyone with useful information that would lead to the arrest of this lady. pls contact 08096640106

*I enlarged and watched the video and saw that the woman took something and hid between her legs covering with a magazine and from her laps transferred it to her bag,got up and left immediately...i couldnt see what she took but she took something and hurriedly left...and she was restless and kept looking here and there.

Madam this CCTV footage is about to be your claim to fame..please go back and return whatever you took.

    1. Like seriously. But madame...you left that lady unattended for too long. First, I noticed that she reached for the table 3times...even with u r kids in view,
although they were oblivious to the crime. As an investigative personnel, you are going to have to prove beyond what the camera is in view of, that she actually stole something, more so, that what she stole is worth your claim in monies. This footage is not conclusive...not trying to discourage your efforts please, but am just giving u a professional advice. As she wasn't caught on the scene of the crime, and this footage isn't showing the actual thing she reached out for. I know she stole something, no doubt...just being lawfully pragmatic here. but...well, what do I know, shebi it's Nigeria. Good luck all the same.

    2. Are u related to her? Then tell her to come forward and prove her innocence. Did u read temitope's comment earlier? She sat next to the table but backed her. If u are excusing evil then u should be watchful yourself. Nobody prays for something like especially with all the the challenges of running a business, shebi its Nigeria.

    3. Anon7:54 I hate to call u an ignoramus. That I am being objective means I'm condoning theft? I have only made my suggestions to the victim, and if u are the victim just consider what I have suggested. Attacking me will not solve the issue even though I wish that she's brought to book. Typical of any average nigerian...you hate to be challenged..but sorry, am not one of your blog passive push around. smh

  9. Temitope, sorry about your loss but bin trying to catch the thief, you have put your own picture up either to show your biureh( beauty) or to show you are the shop owner. I think a lot of us on this blog will know which is which, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone mistakenly thinks you are the one to look out for. We will certainly fish the thief out you don't worry. Also, as a jeweler, one thing I would suggest is you get a large plate sized tray covered in velvet and use it as a server for you customers to show them what you are selling. No more than 4 at a time, that way they wouldn't confuse you. Hand them 4 let. The customer check it out and collect& return into your show case before handing over a new set. This is how it's done. I am not blaming you I am just trying to advise you I guess. Don't trust anyone who comes into your shop all dressed up like a Christmas tree full of bravado that will talk you into handing over more than four pieces and if your prospective clients might be buying heavy duty jewelry, make sure you have several eyes around to be your extra security and always count discretely before your customers leave. I know a place that shall remain nameless that got hit by 4 well dressed " prospective customers" one was there to distract, two were "customers" and the fourth the lookout. To cut a long story short, one pulled out a gun and in the flash of an eye, they made away with $1.5 mill in jewels. Just a few pieces as was published in the papers. So, be careful and this thief will be caught soon.

Please if una know this woman, please dont hide evil oooooooooooooooooooooo drop her name in Stella's box so she can be easily apprehended. Madam Temitope people are saying ogba ogba they see her at ogba. put ur legs to action, go there and do underground work. she will be caught in jesus name.

  49. SO a man is now a "fiancee".Queen whatever,a man in your context is fiance.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Too bad, I sincerely hope she gets caught and madam Temitope is able to get her goods back.
Just too sound a note of caution/warning, madam please involve the police. This lady does not look like she operates alone and it looks like your shop had been on surveillance before this theft occurred. Hence why she was able to get away with it so easily. The only saving grace was the CCTV which I am almost certain they were either not aware of or decided to fob it off and go the whole nine yards. That's why I suggested you involving the police, this lady might just be at the bottom of a crime ring, there'd be other people at the top of the ladder she reports to.

All the best madam temitope and as for this jewellery thief na god of iron go reveal una location and disgrace una

  54. Temitope, sorry for this sad occurrence. Just watching the CCTV footage, I BLAME YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!
Did you look at the person in your shop that you are turning your back away from her and no one was marking her not even your kids?(they look big so i assume they could have kept an eye on the stranger/customer waiting for someone in your shop! and you also said (in your comment)"while my back was turned putting the safe combination"! Sorry o but a woman in your line of business with however many years of experience should know better. YOU showed her how to steal from you by showing her that you are not a security conscious person and your lackadaisical/ trusting attitude backfired.
The deed has been done. and if she was successful robbing you right under your nose be sure like breeze.... she has skipped town. With Xmas around the corner, you just made some girl have a good one.
My dear, I don't know you and you don't know me. But as someone who has survived an armed robbery attacked (the Ole people pointed a,gun at me and my 3yr old niece) I can only say please be very very very careful next time.

1.DO NOT EVER FOR ANY REASON TURN YOUR BACK AT SOMEONE IN YOUR SHOP LOOKING AT SOME MERCHANDISE! DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN!
    2. STOP BEING STINGY TO YOUR BUSINESS! HIRE MORE HANDS. (JUST SO YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE OBSERVING POTENTIAL/OLD CLIENTS.
    3. DON'T EVER TRY TO PUT IN YOUR SAFE COMBINATION WHILE SOMEONE IS LOOKING! LIKE YOUR CC PIN, THE ENTRY SHOULD BE GUARDED.
    4. BE MORE SECURITY CONSCIOUS. HAVING A CCTV IS ONLY ONE STEP. YOU HAVE TO BE THE ALL SEEING EYES AND ALL HEARING EARS WHEN EVER YOU ARE IN YOUR SHOP OR PLACE OF BUSINESS. BE VERY VIGILANT.
    5. TRUST NO ONE BUT YOUR SELF!!
    6. IF YOUR KIDS ARE IN YOUR SHOP, THEY SHOULD TRY AND WATCH PEOPLE IN YOUR SHOP FOR YOU TOO. THE LADY JUST WALKED PAST THEM LIKE THEY WERE NOT EVEN THERE.

YOU WILL RECOVER ALL SAYS THE LORD OF HOST!

  57. even if it is panda on display, u shouldn't hv been so careless, are u sure this thief woman didn't jazz u?
secondly pls be careful what u expose ur children to, find a responsible and quality child care provider for them.
next time, especially with the exposure that this article has given ur establishment, u might be contending with gun slinging, hard core armed robber's who could use those innocent kids as hostage to collect as much loot as possible from you.
think about it and plan ahead.......

    ReplyDelete
  58. Thanks for all your constructive criticisms and I will use it going forward. You don't want to know how I have beat myself up for the obvious slip. I had three employees at the time and this sad occurence still took place but it has been a big lesson and eye opener for me. I don't take my children to the office, that day was an exception because we were supposed to go for a programme, so that your thought will never come to play. If you are a mother then you would understand the possibilities. Thank you for all your prayers and show of concern and I am very positive that before the end of this week, the criminal will be brought to book IJN. I wish you all a safe and blessed week.

    ReplyDelete
  59. pls all, this is not the time for blame of all sorts.mrs zulu, pls do ur research well cos it's very obvious she stole something and that's more than enough evidence in the court of law. no bad comments and blames now, what we need is solution and help. The woman in the link is not the shop owner but the thief,as clearly stated at the beginning of the article. This woman will not have peace until she returns what shes's stolen. She needs ur help pls,so all let's help the best way we can.
