DeleteI met the man when he started off his exile in England in the mid 90s. 96-97 to be precise. He would always hang out at the old mama Calabar restaurant in Hendon...he could down a carton of guinness baba dudu in 30mins or less and not blink. But in retrospect I salute his resilience and how he became a Senator first of all, gov, and then a political icon to be reckoned with in the Nigeria of today.
I think that in recent years, the Nelson Mandela conqueror spirit against apartheid has become a re occurring protégé by extension..as with most of our politically compliant African individuals. You obviously make me laugh Stella,but I concur that he saw money and his eyes popped plus the other things he takes but I can't mention,he was pretty good looking way back.

If you look at most Nigerian Politician pictures before they got into office you will see that they look better, you know why? that is because once they get into office all they do is steal and do all sorts of rituals and before you know it their face don change to another thing. ReplyDeleteI think it has to do with the 'things' he is taking as it is rumoured. Honestly, he was so much more good looking, peaceful looking and happier in this picture. He looks like he had it all together way back then. Now he's gone sloppy looking, talks with a drool, droopy eyes.. like he's half high.. Acquisition of wealth is truly a vanity of vanities.. But I admire his understanding of the Nigerian political terrain. I think he means well for Nigeria. Fashola is one helluva proof that he does.!
